SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Active Camouflage: The Mark II Krêftpânser is equipped with an Electromagnetic Shield generator; this shield is used to reflect and refract electromagnetic waves, dramatically reducing the visibility of the Armour System on the Electromagnetic Spectrum, such as on the infrared or ultraviolet spectrum. Additionally, the Mark II is equipped with an optical shield layer that distorts the armour's appearance to match its environment, much like a Chameleon. When the two technologies are used together, it prevents Armour from being detected by all but the most attentive observer nearby.
  • Electric-Hydraulic Exoskeleton: Equipped with a hydraulic-based electric-assisted exoskeleton, the hydraulic system relies on a series of tubes filled with Thermal Gel to enhance the wearer's strength, endurance, agility and speed. The Thermal Gel layer deforms and hardens along the axis where kinetic energy or mechanical force is applied, generating an electrical current that changes the Thermal Gel's state from liquid to solid. The exoskeleton's enhancements scale with the wearer's natural strength, endurance and speed, increasing these attributes by 300%.
  • Intravenous Ports: Along the Armourweave bodysuit's sleeves is a vacuum-sealed Intravenous Port that can be accessed to deliver medication to the wearer without compromising the pressurised seal of the armour system. This is useful in combat for administering combat stimulants to the wearer for enhanced combat effectiveness and endurance.
  • Laminanium Alloy Hard-Plates: Several form-fitting hard armour alloy panels are incorporated into the Mark II armour system, including the helmet. This Hard-Armour is constructed from exquisite Laminanium. The alloy can plastically deform and self-repair anything less than catastrophic damage, maintaining its' atomic integrity, strength, hardness and ductility even after severe punishment.
  • Plasma Shield: Equipped with a recharging hydrogen-based magnetically-formed plasma shield, The Mark II Krêftpânser actively interdicts kinetic and directed energy projectiles. It can withstand several direct impacts from a contemporary blaster rifle before collapsing and significantly more punishment from kinetic-based threats. When struck, the shield flares along the grain structure of the atomic assembly of its' free-floating electrons, and the luminosity of the strained shield is directly proportional to the energy absorbed until finally collapsing.
  • Repulsorbelts: Mark II Krêftpânser is supported by a belt that can generate micro-repulsor fields; it is a piece of critical safety equipment that allows the wearer to arrest the velocity of a fall regardless of height. Ergo prevents or reduces damage or strain on the wearer or system from falling off speeder bikes, for example. Additionally, it has another novel advantage in reducing the hydrostatic shock from a fall: the wearers can execute high-altitude insertions without needing additional equipment.
WEAKNESSES
  • Breastplate Shottrap: With an angular construction supposed to increase effective thickness to perpendicular strikes, there is a marked increase in risk for kinetic-based projectiles that strike the centre and upper part of the angled breastplate to ricochet into smaller fragments, following along that angle and strike the wearer in the throat.
  • Ground Pressure: The Mark II Powered Armour without a wearer weights standard gravity of seventy kilograms on average; this is extraordinarily heavy and, when combined with the bipedal physiology of its' wearer, exerts tremendous ground pressure wherever the user is standing. This can have tremendously negative implications for movement through hazardous environments, such as across frozen lakes with a real risk of collapse. There are also implications for scaling buildings using the likes of residential elevators. A full squad of Troops equipped with the Mark II Powered Armour would weigh close to one metric ton between them.
  • Nuclear Battery: Onboard electrical systems of the Mark II Krêftpânser are powered by a miniature hydrogen-helium battery; despite being 'miniature', it isn't an entirely negligible size. Penetrating shots to the breastplate have a chance to damage the battery and compromise its' metal shielding. In such an event, the system and the wearer will likely be consumed in a thermonuclear explosion with a fireball radius of approximately 10 metres.
  • Plasma Shield Velocity Threshold: The Plasma Shield only interdicts projectiles and objects accelerating toward the wearer at a velocity equal to or greater than 27 metres per second or 100 kilometres per hour; this leaves the wearer and the soft armour vulnerable to melee attacks, particularly with edged weapons used to stab between those gaps in the hard-armour plates. This makes vibroblades a viable threat to the armour system.
  • Thermal Conductivity: The sheer thermal energy absorbed by the armour-plating on non-penetrating impacts from directed energy weapons is sufficient to surpass the rated operating temperature for the armour system and cause severe burns. For example, contemporary blaster bolts that come into very close proximity to an unshielded wearer may experience internal temperatures of 43 Degrees Celsius or 111 Degrees Fahrenheit. Direct impacts to the armour plating from plasma bolts can raise the internal temperature as high as 60 Degrees Celsius or 140 Degrees Fahrenheit at the site of impact, sufficient to cause 2nd or 3rd Degree Burns to most Humanoid species.
  • Unpowered Mass: The Exoskeleton of the Mark II is hydraulically assisted in its function by an electric power supply, the source of which is a miniaturised hydrogen-helium nuclear fusion reactor. If the Power Supply Unit in the armour is sufficiently damaged or worn out, the wearer will have an unsupported one-hundred-and-eighty kilogram mass on their body. Significantly inhibiting movement in an environment affected by gravity. The Power Supply Unit is particularly vulnerable to Ionic attacks after overloading the plasma shield.
DESCRIPTION
The GEAST Mark II Krêftpânser is a Frysk Dominion-designed and manufactured powersuit originally constructed for use in the manufacturing and mining industries, where it sees enduring use to this day and is ubiquitous in Norr communities on Frysk and their few interstellar colonies. The Mark II Krêftpânser has two corresponding variants which differ only in some of their underlying technology rather than their raw protective performance, these two variants are colloquially known as "Military" for their' restricted use by Military and Law Enforcement Organisations and "Civilian", which is available to all Norr Citizens including Norr businesses, militias and private military companies.
