Description: Mark Crassis was just a boy when he left Alderaan and joined the Republic Navy. He was noted as being cold and calculating and while this endeared him to his superiors, it made him less popular with his fellow soldiers. It wasn't long until he rose to the rank of Lt. and was assigned to a fleet. He was with the Republic Navy throughout the early stages of the war with the One Sith, but when his vessel was destroyed, Mark was left with missing thigh muscle, a damaged need, and a healthy amount of nerve damage. Kolto and Bacta could only do so much and because of this, Mark walked with a cane.
Unable to actively served in the navy anymore, Mark was assigned a desk where he began to work as an intelligence analyst. He found the duties to be more enjoyable than he would have though initially, and he began to become quite successful. However, as he got older he decided he'd had enough and retired to Shulstine V to take up a political appointment. As he settled onto the seedy world, he used his work in intelligence to slowly build his network of assets.
While Mark was typical good at keeping his head down and blending into a crowd, his work began to get noticed and he found himself the target of watchful criminals. Due to this, Mark commissioned the construction of a new cane. This cane had a 25.4 cm blade hidden within the cane that was accessible by twisting the head of the cane and pulling the blade out. Likewise, the metal tip of the cane that touches the ground is wired to a small taser baton hidden within the cane. When touched to a target and the left eye of the raven is pushed in an electrical charge travels through the metal tip. It isn't powerful enough to kill, only to incapacitate for a small period of time.
For aesthetic purposes the handle of the cane is carved to look like a raven. Mark always respected the small, smart birds. They were highly intelligent and.....like him....they were observant.
