BACKGROUND​

The Senator of Ord Mantell is a radical, even to his own people. While still being Ord Mantellian-first in his policies, he believes that the survival of the Galactic Alliance is the only way to maintain peace in the Core, and to avoid the tyranny that many of his fellow citizens have grown too blind to see after decades of Imperial influence, and the subsequent propaganda which bombarded them for years on end.

While hailing from the esteemed Bancroft family of the Core Regions of the galaxy, Marek was born a bastard and generally avoids all association with them, his name aside. Through a combination of unknown backers and his political acumen for behind-the-scenes deal-making, Marek would fast-track himself from a minor public servant and soar to the rank of Senator following the sudden death of his predecessor. Tragic as their passing was,

Marek would waste no time using the vast resources he'd accrued to arrange his election on a platform that energized the populism among the planet's vast citizenry. He won by a landslide against his traditionalist opponent, beginning his journey to the Core to represent the interests of his constituents.

But of course, his interests to his constituents were not the only duty that would follow his arrival to Coruscant, and later the new capitol at Fondor. High-level bureaucracy would quickly show itself to be a balancing game between them and the wellsprings of capital that maintained business relationships with the Senator.
