APPEARANCE:

Marcus wears flowing dark brown robes that cover lighter and more versatile light dueling armor underneath. He has dark hair and complexion with ceremonial cloth tied around his eyes to cover his Miralukan empty eye sockets. He usually has stubble and can be seen wandering the outskirts of outer rim planets, almost like he is looking for something. He has a peaceful, radiant aura to him, but when he sheds his mystic cloak, three lightsabers are strapped across the chest piece of his duelist armor.

BIOGRAPHY:

Marcus was selected to be trained as a Jedi from a young age by the elders in his village. His gift of foresight and his clear understanding of shatterpoints was noticed from a young age by the more attuned force sensitive Mirluka elders. He was taken to the Jedi temple for training by a consular who understood Marcus’s deep connection to the force. Shortly after beginning his training by the Consulars, a Jedi sentinel took notice in his abilities, particularly how proficient Marcus was at sensing and being drawn to powerful dark side and Sith artifacts. The sentinels felt Marcus’s power should be used to help further their goals, while the consulars of the order felt he was a powerful conduit to the force that must be explored in a less applied and more mystic way.

Marcus spent his teenage years learning from his master, a consular, and a knight-sentinel who had special permission from the Jedi council to train Marcus in certain sentinel related skills. This was an unorthodox arrangement organized to soothe tensions between those who wished for Marcus to be trained in their ways.

Upon completing the trials, Marcus chose to further specialize as a Guardian. This decision shocked many in the order who knew him, as it was widely expected for Marcus to choose one of the two specializations that had invested so much in him over the years. Marcus was grateful for the attention and training, but was dissuaded from either due to their competition with one another over his skills, and how they could utilize his powers for their own ends. Marcus heard the living force, and the voices of those who came before, or have yet to come, much clearer than others. In order to ensure he could follow the path the force played out for him, he needed to make sure he could ensure the will of the force was completed, even if that meant the use of violence. Thus for a decade after he became a knight (around the age of 18), Marcus studied under a prestigious Jedi Battlemaster, all while going on missions for all three of the branches of the Jedi order.

Due to his strong connection to the force, Marcus studied Niman with a focus on force power combat abilities for the entirety of his knighthood in the order, becoming a master of this form after nearly a decade of practice. It is his preferred form for its versatility and balance of dueling ability without cutting his ability to use the force.

Marcus’s Jedi Battlemaster instructors didn’t think specialization in Niman was a worthy endeavor for a knight training with Jedi guardians, so Marcus also practiced Ataru for 7 years of his knighthood, mastering it 3 years before Niman despite starting them at the same time. Marcus often employs Jar-Kai with this form, wielding two lightsabers and attacking at blinding speeds. He only employs this form when his Niman will be outmatched, most often by another skilled lightsaber duelist.

When these forms are insufficient, Marcus also is an expert in Shii-Cho which he employs for dealing with large groups of enemies and deflecting blaster bolts. He is also well trained in the other lightsaber forms, but forms VI, IV, and I are his top three, respectively.

In his many missions as a knight, Marcus helped the Jedi sentinels collect a variety of Sith holocrons and dark side artifacts. The Jedi Consulars encouraged Marcus to listen to the will of the force, but the Sentinels were still pressuring him to use his power to root out evil. On a mission to an undisclosed location with a unit of Jedi Shadows, Marcus helped them locate an ancient Sith tomb which they opened to destroy but instead ended up infecting the nearby local town with a ghoulish plague. The Jedi Shadows insisted that the townsfolk be “cleansed” of the darkness, by the purity of their lightsabers if necessary. Marcus resisted this idea, but the Shadows are merciless and zealous in their pursuit of purity. Even further, Marcus brought proof from his research in the collection of Sith knowledge they had gathered and found a potential cure for the townsfolk. The Jedi shadow accused Marcus of turning to the dark side and absorbing dark side ideology, and sentenced him to be cleansed along with the townsfolk. With no other choice, Marcus drew his lightsabers and duelled the Jedi shadows. He wanted to disarm them, but it was clear these shadows were radicalized and would not stop until Marcus and the townsfolk were exterminated. He was forced to kill the shadows in the duel, which severed his connection to the Jedi for good. If that wasn’t enough, after killing the shadows Marcus used Sith Alchemy found in the holocron to cure the townsfolk. He had saved innocent lives, and followed his instincts and the will of the force, but he had ultimately marked himself a traitor and enemy of the Jedi from there on out.

Since that incident, Marcus has wandered the galaxy listening to the whispers of the force and trying to gather knowledge to use to help others, even if that knowledge could be considered dark. He has not had to kill any Jedi since the incident with the Shadows, but he has killed Sith acolytes and warriors in that time. The force wills three tasks onto Marcus, and Marcus completes these tasks with the upmost devotion. 1. Follow, watch, and listen. Find knowledge and collect it for when it is needed. 2. Prevent those who would from destroying knowledge, and slay those who would corrupt knowledge for evil aims. 3. Find others to share your quest, for one day people will need the knowledge you collect.

SHIP:

Marcus took the small Jedi transport ship from his mission with the shadows. It is a small vessel that can fit a crew of 8-10 people and is armed with light blasters. It is highly maneuverable and quick to make up for the light firepower. It has customization used by the previous owners such as a cloaking device and experimental hyperdrive boosters usually not outfitted to a ship of this size.
