Many Mimban Mando's

Mimban, another planet touched by the legendary Clone Wars. The Matador wondered if that had anything to do with the chosen locations of the strangler clans. First the Praxi clan, now the Catar clan. Was this merely chance or something significant? Perhaps, the Mandolorians had a greater understanding of their past, the records of Tol Varen were clear. The Clone Wars were the sight of a massive victory for the Mandolorian people, destroying the Jedi and bringing Mandolorian culture back from the brink of destruction.

It was possibly that the galaxy had unwittingly returned them to places of strength and comfort, for them to retain their resolve. However, a new Manda'Lor had risen and many had not answered the call. This was blasphemous in the Matador's eyes and he would reign them in.

Upon arriving on Mimban, the Matador was greeted by Commenor flags. Mimban had a sole colonised city on the planet, a very old city from the times of the old republic. But, it had been outfitted with the latest technology and much of the local housing estates were being refurbished and much construction was under way as demanded by [member="Lady Kay"].

Or, so he heard on the unblockable holonet adverts as he entered the city. There were varieties of people here, from soldiers to pilots, refugee's to citizens of Mimban going on with their daily lives. Very much so more civilised and well governed than the Droideka factories on Colla IV. The hangar area lead directly to the marketplace. This, this was so different from what the Matador had became accustomed to on Duxn. The Mandolorians were in hiding here, either under the guise of a completely different group or perhaps in the warehouse district, the factories, as a small corporation or maybe in the housing district. Too many places to check, and the Matador had little patience to spend potential months. He needed to speak to the authority here.

After an unfortunate incident on Kwenn Station, Kay had made a promise to her Head of Security, [member="Macoda Haberon"] , that she would always inform him of where she was going. Her safety was his top priority and it did her no good to just take a couple of guards and leave the Palace on a whim. Most especially as there was a slim chance that a bounty hunter might try their luck. Or that anyone out to make a name for themselves might try to take her hostage. She had to be smart and not openly walk into such situations.

Mimban should be safe enough to travel too. The world was one of a handful in their sector that had recently asked to be protected. Through trade deals, and alliances, plus the fact that it had little to protect itself, Commenor was glad to help out. The Commenori military stay home, but what good was staying at home while your closest neighbours were under attack? No. She had to adjust their foreign policy a bit to accommodate those that really needed their help.

Kay's ship 'The Free Lady' soon landed at the the central city's spaceport of Squammish. She had three guards with her this time, and should Mac become available, she had no doubt that he would come by to further ensure her safety. Her Force Bond with [member="Veiere Arenais"] however, was an additional tool that ensured that she was always able to keep in touch with someone if trouble was to arise. She studied the wedding rings on her finger, special in not just what they represent, but in the enchanted way that they strengthened their bond even further through the skills of alchemy. Such a skill was beyond her for the time being. With her duties as Queen, she had little time to learn such a difficult skillset.

This was a state visit, but by no means did she request any ceremonies or parades. Instead, Kay just chose to do what she liked to do. Once the ramp of the Free Lady was lowered, she stepped out with her guards flanking her and headed out to the streets of the city. To see Commenori flags flapping in the wind was a nice sight. Hopefully they had a good cafe or tea shop as well. Kay was well known for her love of Sapir tea.

Her eyes were looking up high at the construction of newer buildings when she nearly bumped into [member="The Matador"] while he too, was walking through the streets. "Oh! Excuse me. Sorry about that."

The Matador was trudging through the streets of Mimban, his body hidden under his long cloak; he was still sore after his fight on Colla IV. However, returning the Praxi Clan to the fold was well worth it. People gave the 6'6 Mandolorian strange looks,

"N'usulu."

He repeated to himself, trying to move people out of his way as politely as possible. However, the majority of people for some strange reason made clear effort to avoid him. Perhaps it was the Great Axe. The Matador was keeping an eye out for some sort of office or clear sign of authority beyond checkpoint Guards. A moment later, he felt a thud against his side. A small abrupt collision, however the presence removed itself from his immediate vicinity as his fist instinctively clenched; his head turning in its direction. A small women, in an elaborate and clearly expensive outfit. Where as, he smelled of blood and dirt. He observed her for a moment as she apologised, he recognised her. But, from where he wasn't sure.

"Vaabir Ni kar'taylir gar dalyc?"

Oh joy. Another one that towered over her. Just like [member="Macoda Haberon"] and [member="Atheus"] , [member="The Matador"] was nearly a foot taller than she was. That in itself was a bit intimidating, but she was used to such heights. She spotted the axe and it made her think of Mac straight away, but there was little chance that the two knew eachother.

Kay squinted her eyes a bit as she tried to translate the words that the man before her spoke, but she just couldn't make it out. She glanced over her shoulder at her guards, though being Commenori, they didn't understand it either and couldn't help her. Where was a protocol droid when you needed one?

She looked up at the Matador and gave him a polite smile. "I'm sorry. I only understand basic. Are you looking for something?" Given that she had spoken basic earlier and he had not done so, she expected that he didn't know the language. So as she spoke the word 'looking', Kay pointed to her eyes and then gestured to their surroundings. Universal sign language. Gotta love it.

Metaphorical lightsource, it clicked. The Queen of the Commenor, that was who he had just adressed so rudely in his tongue. The least he could do was speak in formal basic. "No." Was the only word he uttered, he didn't need government officials getting involved with this sort of activity. However, it might take him a solid month by himself. "Wait, yes. I am. I am a representative of the Mando'Ade. May we speak in private?"

The Matador couldn't say much more than that in public, who knew who's eyes were watching.

Kay raised a brow. A representative for the Mandos? Well, this would prove interesting. Outside of formerly being a part of Clan Raxis, (surely her marriage got her out of that? Right? Maybe?) Kay had little to do with them. As much as she could remember, she didn't follow their rules or customs, didn't go to war to fight in their cause that she didn't believe in. But she did ally herself with the Clan in order to protect Commenor from attack.

And it worked.

"Alright. I'm sure that someone would vacate a room for us." She looked about, chewing the inside of her cheek. The building next to them seemed to be a bank. That could work. They had meeting rooms. "Right this way."

Kay led them to the door and stepped inside. One of her guards was on the ball and already seeing that a meeting room was made available to them. After a moment or two, Kay and [member="The Matador"] were led inside a large meeting room, complete with a big executive table. Her guards followed suit and when all were inside, the door was closed to give them privacy.

"What can I do for you?" Kay turned to face him, her hands clasped in front of her. She wondered what it could be that the Mando'Ade would want from Commenor.

The Matador silently followed [member="Lady Kay"] into what appeared to him as an office of some kind. It's purpose was of a mystery to him, many people were standing in long lines, each at the front addressing an issue to someone serving at a kiosk. These troubles citizens were weak in the mind of a Mandolorian such as himself, what purpose did they have? Did they know how to fight? When you see someone who is becomingly increasingly irritated over some small financial matter it shows their true colour. Those who have only such a trivial thing as finance to concern themselves with do not live full lives. Whilst those on the opposite sat in long silver recliners and spoke with such a perpetuated façade of pleasantness that it turned his stomach; they still had some sense of purpose. However, whether their job was done by themselves or a droid was arbitrary making their contribution to society all but none.

Around him, the Matador saw complacency. It disgusted him, however this Queen of the Commenor appeared more efficient than her folk. Almost as soon as he had request to speak with her, a room was vacated and she was attempting to deal with the issue at hand. A notable quality amongst those within or outside of Mandolorian culture; stagnation and procrastination means death to progression and excellence. A rule to live by, wisdom of the Keeper that he held onto.

"A rogue cell of Mandolorians from Clan Catar are hiding here on Mimban. It might take me months to find them alone, I'm aware you are an ally. Returning more Mandolorians to the fold will greatly aid us."

Kay raised a brow slightly. So [member="The Matador"] was on a hunt of sorts. And for rogue Clans to boot. Was there some call for all of the Mandalorians to return home? She hadn't heard of it. That was for the better of course.

She studied him while she thought of the right answer to give. She wasn't used to others using her territory to hide themselves in, especially given all of the heavy traffic. Yet Mimban was a new addition and with it Commenor inherited it's problems. And this seemed to be one of them.

"I am an ally, yes. But I'm sure that it's known that I don't always agree with what my allies are doing, just so long as it doesn't happen to the people under my protection. So before I agree to help, I'd like to know what the crimes of Clan Catar are." Surely there was more to it than not being in Mandalorian space. And if they were all being called home, it made her wonder why. Were they preparing another Crusade? Or was it merely for the purpose of self defence in case they were attacked? All of them were questions that she needed answering before she would agree to anything.

"They haven't commited any crimes thus far. Following the destruction of Mandalore many were afraid and scattered. I wish to bring them home if I can."

The Matador explained it as best he could, the mandolorian people needed to be united. Furthermore, these stray clans had a duty to serve. He would bring them back with force if neccesary. However, he was hoping it would not come to that.

"They had a duty to come home."

The Matador wondered what the Queen of a progressive people would think of this conscription of mandolorian warriors. In many ways the mandolorians were a cult.

Kay nodded as [member="The Matador"] spoke of clans being scattered and perhaps afraid of going home. It was true. But it wasn't just the destruction of Mandalore that was the cause of that.

It was when he spoke again that she folded her arms across her chest. A duty to go home? That gave her a feeling of foreboding. People didn't like not having a choice or to have their backs to the wall, especially her.

"Duty or not, if they choose not to go, you cannot force them. As they had commited no crimes, taking them would constitute kidnapping. You'll need to keep an open mind when dealing with these...rogue clans. Not everything is black and white."

"If at all possible, it will not come to violence. You have my word regarding the issue. However, if force is required I will challenge their leader; no unlawful harm will come to any." That, was all the Matador could promise; and if he was lucky he would be able to keep to said promise.

The ways of the Mandolorians were, above all else what he stood by and he would do so regardless of what [member="Lady Kay"] protested.
Hopefully, it would not come to that; he wished to maintain the alliance between the Mando'Ade and Commenor. However, tradition came first.

Kay frowned and folded her arms across her chest, listening to what [member="The Matador"] was saying. It was clear that she wasn't happy with it. She valued people's freedom, which is why she freed many slaves in the past. And here he was, wanting to take away the freedom of others when they had commited no crimes, only wanting to live somewhere else in peace.

"If they don't wish to go and haven't done anything wrong, you shouldn't try to force them. Going togue would constitute causing trouble, yet it may very well be that the only trouble that they cause is to deny you bringing them back. Why is this so important to you?" It was starting to become more important to her. As far as she was aware, Clan Raxis was scattered every which way. Were any of them in Mandalorian space? She didn't know. She just knew that she wasn't.

Kay took a breath to calm herself down a little, unfolding her arms. She had no idea how things would play out with this rogue Clan. It could very well be that they wouldn't resist at all. "I'm sorry. I just have to plan ahead for all the situations that could arise."

"If they are truly Mandolorian they will accept my challenge if it comes to that, and therefore they would have given consent to combat within a controlled environment. If they don't accept then, further verbal debate may be necessary following initial attempts. Violence is, not always a last resort. It's something within Mandolorian blood. This is important to me because this Clan, like all the others swore an oath to serve Mandalore."
He explained, standing full and straight; the Matador took a large pendant from his belt, a large chain linked to a small sphere with Mandolorian markings carved into it. He gestured for her to look; "And now in Mandalore's greatest hour of need. They have abandoned her in her greatest hour of need. That is why it is important."

The Matador placed his pendant back under his garb. "We need to be strong."

Kay's brows furrowed as she listened to what [member="The Matador"] had to say. She didn't just hear him. She was listening. He was speaking with reason and had remained calm. Which was better than what she was at risk of doing.

She looked to the medallion, having never seen one like it before. The Matador had such pride. Sometimes that was a bad thing, yet in this instance it wasn't. There was no malace that she could see. Nothing like the Mandalorians during the Crusades and before that, when sneezing in their direction was reasons for going to war.

Kay gave him a curt nod. "Alright. I'll help you find them. But what crisis is going on that they are needed so badly? Is Mandalore at war again? Or are they planning on it?"

"Very recently one of our set off seismic charges in the planet core, causing massive weather phenomenons and multiple enormous volcano eruptions. Millions estimated dead. A relief effort is underway, but we need all hands on deck."
The Matador had a heaviness in his voice, deep guilt; had he been there. Ijaat would have died before he had even considered doing such a thing.
"You must understand. Mandolorian brothers and sisters all dead..." He trailed off, regaining his resolve after a moments pause.

"I appreciate your willingness to aid my cause [member="Lady Kay"]."

Kay slowly shook her head in disbelief. It wasn't as though she didn't believe [member="The Matador"] , it was just that such a thing was hard to imagine.

She took a step forward towards him, more so out of concern than in a threatening manner. "Relief efforts are underway? What about from outsiders? We can help. Commenor, I mean. We can bring in supplies, engineers, medics. If I had known earlier, I'd of offered earier."

The possibility of an alliance was far more profitable to the Mandolorian people than the return of a single clan. However, it was his duty now to do both. The Matador had a responsibility to do as much as possible to aid Mandolore.

"Anything you can do to help would be appreciated. However, we should deal with the matter at hand [member="Lady Kay"]."
The Matador hadn't come here to build the bridges of alliance, however now that it was a potential option, it was foremost his intention to do so. A moment of silence was held between the two.

So starkly different people with different values, yet they could come together in their understanding of pain. That was the lesson of this.

Pain, was the greatest teacher.

Kay nodded, glad that [member="The Matador"] didn't turn down her assistance so quickly. Yet still, there was the matter at hand. "Right. The rogue Clan Catar, was it? I don't know Mimban enough to know where they would hide, but I can certainly put my feelers out there." And by that of course she had meant the local officials and law enforcement. But usually people that wanted to hide would keep out of trouble. However, Mandalorians tended to be easy to pick out in a crowd.

Then there was the matter of whether or not they will want to go. She would have to deal with that when the time comes.

Kay walked over to one of her guards and had him get through to the officials with her request to find the members of the Clan. Now all that they had to do was wait.

As far as he was aware, [member="Lady Kay"] did not truly appear to understand the Mandolorian way. Violence, war and brotherhood and honor were equal amounts in their blood.

He sincerely doubted that Jechit Catar, the last known A'lor of Catar would turn down the Matador's offer and even less so a challenge.

"Jechit Catar." He uttered, turning to face the Queen subtlety. "Jechit, is their leader. He may have more publicity than the others, try and thin down your search for him. He is the only one I need to speak to, with his word the rest will follow."

The Matador had waited patiently, however his mind was searching with ideas as to how to resolve the situation with Lady Kay present should violence arise.

Kay raised a brow, looking over to [member="The Matador"] when he spoke two words, not yet realizing that it was the name of the man that he was looking for. It wasn't until he spoke more that she understood.

She looked to her guard and nodded, having him relay the information out. At least that would narrow down the search.

Kay then turned to face the Mandalorian. They had some time to wait. Simple small talk wouldn't do. It wasn't as though either of them knew much of the weather on Mimban. The only thing that she really knew was what happened here just before the Republic fell. "Clan Catar might be well hidden. Mandalorians and others attacked this planet not long ago, cornering innocents and slaughtering children and infants in front of their parents before killing them too. Those people had done nothing wrong to anyone, yet the murderers claimed to be righteous. There would no doubt be some very harsh feelings towards them. So they could be here under false names to hide their identity."
