Dominion Manny Bothans Died Helping Us: Silver Concord Dominion of Bothawui and Moonus Mandel

Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist

Bothawui was a world that was home to a brave man.. a strange one sure but in the short time he had been with the silver jedi on Krant he had done much... mostly collapse a tunnel of sithspawn keeping them there so a few of the children who had been kidnapped could escaped but Manny Bothans died an honored hero of the silvers and his adopted homeworld was where the grandmaster had brought him. THe adopted family he had was there to meet them and a lot was happening on the world. One of the towers had been here as well that was why Manny and his team were sent to Krant to investigate as they had seen horrors within. Some of the creatures escaping into the wilds around them but the ship was largely purged with flamethrowers and everything else that they could manage.

The area around the diplomatic shuttle was a full procession... Matsu had wanted some of the assembly to come and they had managed to get off of their office seats to join her. That she could visit them at nearly anytime compared to the others well it was something that was harder to deal with... they couldn't just say to make an appointment which might have been difficult but.... aside from Hanna Ike Hanna Ike politicians were not really something to trust. Still she walked in the silver robes as next to her was the first bodyguard and members of the different councils... The silver rest didn't just have one high council it divided the work among the ranks and positions to make their effectiveness better as a librarian wasn't also in charge of ships and soldiers.

She motioned with one hand for her Ta-Ree to move over.. the black armored robes were distinctive compared to many of the others in the order but they also had riftstones in their armor allowing them to use the reality manipulating techniques compared to other parts. THey were information gathering about the ship that had arrived here and sent Manny with his team to Krant after they managed to back trace the ships logs. The large shielded area was something that they would investigate in a moment if they could.. some would be able to use it here to give them more information. There was a small internal smirk to her work though as she was stood looking at some of the Bothans who came to greet them. Her bodyguard standing there with a thick mane of red hair that was braided and had beaded crystals.

"Welcome to Bothawui master jedi."

The Funeral

Bothawui was a planet that Caltin Vanagor had visited many times in the past. Bothawui was the fourth planet from the star Both in the Both system of the Mid Rim region of the galaxy and was also within the region known as the Slice. It was situated at the junction of four major hyperlanes, including the Bothan Run, the Kaaga Run, the Reena Trade Route and the Manda Merchant Route. Due to a slight wobble in its axial plain, Bothawui experienced numerous small ice ages, which expanded and retracted across the planet's higher latitudes in seventy-year cycles. Bothawui was also affected by the destruction of the third planet in its system.

Was it any wonder why the planet was considered a hotbed of “intelligence gathering” for so long?

His first time here was as a Padawan, he did not think much for the mountain ranges until after his return as a Jedi Knight. The population were always fantastic, not only in their hospitality but in their desire to assist and improve on the lives of those around them. Sure, for the most part they were “spooks” but it was what made them who they were.

That is also why the massive Jedi Master was more than willing to pay his respects.

Standing among those gathered, he bowed his head and whispered the words to no one in particular as he was looking the way of a holo of the fallen.

“May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face…” “May joy and peace surround you, contentment latch your door. And happiness be with you now and bless you evermore.” “As you slide down the banisters of life, may the splinters never point the wrong way.”

These sort of events just seemed to come with the territory, regardless of which side you were on.

When he had been a slave to the One Sith, this kind of procession would have been an event attended by all the Dark Lords. In the First Order, these kinds of events had been routine on Dosuun, particularly as war with the Alliance and Outer Rim Coalition intensified.

The Primeval had been an exception because the Primeval didn't believe in death. At least, not as the broader galaxy thought of it. This would have been a wake, not a funeral. A celebration, not sadness. The Primeval death rituals embraced the notion don't cry because its over, smile because it happened.

But he wasn't part of the Primeval anymore. There really wasn't a Primeval to be part of anymore. Even if there had been, Boo had made his choice to break with the ranks of the Golden Banners long ago.

Perhaps his current state was Sargon punishment for that, though if it was then it was a burden that Boo would bear because he'd long since moved past the notion of second guessing his choice.

It had been the right thing to do.

And then, here they were. The Primeval had burned out of the galaxy, their religion all but extinct. And Boo a living witness to decades of history, wearing the skin of a teenage Pantoran like a Halloween costume.

At one time, the moral enemy to everything that the Heavenshields represented. Today, he was on Bothawui representing the Heavenshield's. Midvinter's delegate to the state funeral. A show of support to Matsu Ike Matsu Ike and a general reminder that Midvinter stood with the Concord.

The crest of the Lion King decorated the navy-colored sash that draped the boy's silver doublet. A decidedly archaic style of garment, but Midvinter was a decidedly archaic kind of planet.

Ever the predator, the Knight of Ren stayed to the back of the Concord's delegation. Sizing up the new grandmaster from afar, along with whoever the master was who looked like he'd shred his robes just by flexing.

Boo was used to swol-looking nerf herders. He hung out with Valkyri after all. But that guy seriously needed to be tested for steroids.

Objective: Funeral

Mig slowly walked up with another Mandalorian in Covenant Armor that contrasted his own light beskar'gam. This particular Mandalorian didn't seem too fond of being there though.

"You know when you said this was important, I wasn't thinking more... fighting." Mig just sighed, and looked over at the trainee.

"Last I checked you cornered me wanting training. I only told you it was important, and you need a lesson." Mig would walk up to where Manny was, seeing Caltin and giving the Jedi Master a nod before pulling out a small from a pouch and approached where the man was. Sure, he didn't know Manny, but considering what he'd heard, and the fact his daughter was still alive, he felt he owned him somehow. It was a small pendent of Beskar, that looked like the crossed blades of the clan's signet. Yeah yeah, the Death Watch would probably kill him if they found out, but it felt right to him. He then looked at Caltin again, with his partner finally shutting up. Maybe he did finally realize the gravity of the situation.

"Well Caltin.... I have to say from what Leddie was will to tell me you've been through a lot."

Objective: Silver Concord Outpost

The funeral procession was something that they were all here to see but a chance to work with and well help for the assembly was important... and who better to help in many of those cases then an Organa... there were a few of them throughout the galaxy but few came this far out thankfully. Jesse was standing there as she looked over at what they had here... the chance to build an outpost with those who are good with govermental spycraft... the silver jedi since Matsu had taken over ditched the silver shadows... jedi shadows had a purpose and it wasn't what they had been twisted into. er shadows learning in the Omean temple where they stayed until the council itself decided to send them in. Jesse was meeting with one of the representatives and he stood there with his hair looking... fluffy and shiny and if she lacked control she would want to touch it.

Objective III - The Wilds

It's pretty quiet out here, isn't it?

Her eyes drifted upward through the emerald canopy to look up at Bothawui's sun. Light flickered down through the swaying leaves to bathe the dirt and foliage floor in golden hues. Encased in power armor, she could not feel the breeze which clearly moved the branches. That annoyed her somewhat, though she was consoled that the armor also managed to cut down the humidity and the heat that was outside too. Tradeoffs...always tradeoffs as they say. She sighed and cast her eyes downwards.

The hapan shocktroopers had been embedded among a company of NORCOM Expeditionary Army Regiment, whose troops were largely synthetic soldiers that seemed to mimic the average baseline human. The faux jedi among them seemed almost out of place among the battle armor clad soldiers that made up the bulk of their numbers. Yet after seeing one of the fake jedi fry a rabid beast with a blast of lightning out of its hand, she wondered just how close they were to equaling the average jedi in combat. Clearly they couldn't replicate all the wonder of the Force with technology, but their power and physical strength did seem greater in some ways than the average jedi padawan.

"Ma'am?"

She turned her head to Brea, "Yes?"

"A crashed ship has been found. Looks pretty big, heavy cruiser or bulk transport sized. I think they're about to go in there pretty soon.
"

She blinked, and for a moment, was thankful that her armor's faceplate concealed her facial expression.

"You want to be one of the first in?"

"You don't?"

She wondered that herself for a moment. They hadn't seen or heard of anything of much interest yet. But on the other hand, a downed starship could be an entirely interesting and dangerous thing. Would a reactor have been breached on the way down, exposing them to harmful radiation? Were their survivors onboard that needed help? She didn't know if the curiosity and new experience was worth the danger, especially without explicit orders to do so.

"Who's headed there so far?"

"Looks like the platoon leader is on his way there now. Can't say about anyone else for sure?"

"Well, Corbin's got a solid head..."

"Oh, so it's a yes then."

"We were told we could accompany him as he sees fit."

She could practically feel Brea's smile, "Let's go then, ma'am."

The funeral procession continued forward and Matsu was able to see others were here... fitting she hoped but never one to discount anothers respect. Master Vanagor had been there in the forest and seen things most of them would prefer to not see again most likely... so she wasn't going to ask him about it. THe mandalorian was a benefit in case anything happened they added some presence... and a grandmaster well she would be able to do quite a lot here as they were going forward. Bothans joined them and she shook hands to meet them but they were largely going to the one area bodies were interred... old school sure but for a race of spies likely higher respect compared to the candle and sealed records.

The Funeral

Quietly, the massive Jedi Master watched as the procession moved on. There was little pomp or circumstance, but more a showing of respect than anything. Caltin Vanagor was not one for this sort of thing, if he could help it. Sure, he would always show respect to the fallen and give their spirit the dignity it would deserve, this goes without question. However, to attend a funeral, to those in his… and Mig’s way of life… could be construed as reminding oneself of their own mortality.

This did not affect Caltin, unsurprisingly, though not for the reason one might think. Sure, Jedi are taught to believe that the future is basically unwritten and any vision of the future can be misconstrued. Well, Caltin saw his death in a vision, and the event had already come to pass, down to the words spoken to his Padawan (at the time). Every moment since then has been a gift to him.

The look from GrandMaster Ike, the comment from Gred… they were a little unsettling. Shaking his head as he addressed them, the big man simply went to explain why he did not really want to go into detail.

Mig, let me explain this from your perspective. Those events on that planet are unworthy of honor. That darkness will come and go, but what was done to those animals, to those people, to those children? I found it very distressing.

Jesse continued here... the bothans who were not aat the ceremony were well... different she had heard stories about how secretive they could be or how they were in for their own self interests... which was true of many... that one of the more famous... infaamous ones had been involved with an ancestor and made working hell or even worse rumored scandal.... well it only went so far as she maintained her composure and was bringing up the figures they haad. Accounts with the assembly and concord that would allow them to buy an area of land and develop on it under whatever regulations they were given as well as use locals not importing their own people... same for who would b occupying the outpost which would serve like a diplomatic facility.

Draven was getting accustomed to finding himself feeling like he had unresolved obligations within his position amidst the Jedi. It wasn't uncommon for him to settle in for a bit. Only for him to dip out for awhile. He really needed to reach out to his mentor Saki Saki and ensure her he hadn't been slacking on his training at the very least. He made sure that he focused on conditioning his body and abilities for when he furthered his lessons under her tutelage, or more importantly was ready when she felt the need to bring him into an active battle zone.

Draven also needed to address the matter of his transportation methods with his master. In this instance it wasn't too much of a problem. He caught an order transport ship that was primed to come to Bothawui anyways. An important funeral was occurring on the world.. and Draven was inspired to pay his respects in his own way. Attending a public funeral was too emotionally charged, and crowded for the likes of Draven to attend. In fact the wave of conflicting emotions hit him hard enough just entering into the atmosphere.

Luckily, the vast variety of wilderness and eco systems gave Draven something to distract himself with. It was where he would be headed after all. His Intel suggested an allied regiment would likely be located in an area nearby. His goals were similarly aligned with the goals of them.. or at least he hoped that was the case.

Draven was dressed up in one of his more traditional robes as he took to the forest. A pale green robe with tan pants and no shoes. Though he did carry with himself his survival pack. As well as his lightsaber which was easily blended upon his outfit due to it's hilt design. His pack held his training robes as well as assortment of survival gear. Which he made sure to re-stock while on Coruscant. Draven had spent quite awhile there.

Draven was more or less foregoing his training robes in an effort to see how far his training was progressing. He had always worked himself to use the force in a way which could shield him from the environment. Which is why he was comfortable running barefoot through a forest. Even climbing onto low hanging branches. Though he was optimistic he could channel the force by now enough so he should have an edge in a combat scenario. Especially, because he made sure that when he was comfortable in a workout routine. He would force himself to increase the challenges of his day to day tasks.
-----

Focusing on the present however, Draven glanced to his comm link. He wasn't too fond of technology. Though it had it's usefulness. Draven continued his trek amidst the trees. While he began to try and seek out the channel for the local regiment. Hopeful, most people in the funeral would have their comms on silent out of courtesy to the event.

"Testing..." Draven spoke into his device. "Anyone there?" Every moment or so as he shifted frequencies. In hopes it would disrupt the comms of the local forces. Opening up communications with them.

Sure.. Draven was more than capable of hunting them down through the force. However, he wanted to be civil about how he tracked an armed militia. Previous experience had shown to Draven it was very unwise to stalk a well armed individual.. let alone a regiment. Without making it clear to them your intent was benign.. or better yet an asset.. because otherwise they might become trigger.. or hammer happy and Draven did Not wish to repeat that experience.

The additional benefit was this allowed Draven to focus his senses. To ensuring he wasn't being stalked by any potential threats. As it would be a laughable predicament. If the Padawan was caught off guard while trying to join up with other folks. Seeking to ensure the local populations were safe from threats.

Mig looked at Caltin, giving a heavy sigh as he motioned to move aside for a moment. He took a breath before speaking up, sounding a bit disappointed, though clearly aimed at himself.

"I knew she wasn't saying everything.... How much do you know about Mando'a, and about my clan's more recent history?" Honestly, the answer wouldn't change what Mig was about to say, but he wanted to know how much Caltin knew. Once he heard, he'd continue a bit. "When the Sith invaded Mandalore, they also invaded Concord Dawn. They used... something similar. Sithspawn, mutants. whatever you want to call them.... I'd say demagolka. But... Leddie was only five when that happened. If she'd asked about going I wouldn't have let her, and now.... Well I'm glad we live on Tanaab at least, but she didn't need to go through that...." They definitely weren't the best memories for him either, but that young.... He just shook his head before looking back up at the Jedi Master. He didn't know Caltin as well as others, but maybe that made him more willing to to talk about this,

Her eyes drank in the beauty of the forest as they meandered through the clumps of trees and tall grasses. Parts of it reminded her of her homeworld, known in parts for its untarnished natural beauty that was only encroached on occasionally by aristocrats during their hunting parties. She herself had enjoyed a number of those hunts, and she found herself looking for signs of some sort of game animal - a hoofprint, a dung dropping, or a branch broken just right. Yet she saw none of that so far, at least nothing she could attribute to an animal of what she thought would be a respectable size. Her comlink briefly crackled as a new voice flowed in.

"Testing...Anyone there?"

She blinked and turned to Brea, "Isn't this area supposed to be off limits to civilians?"

Brea's helmet bobbed up and down, "Should be. I heard that too. Sounds like someone who shouldn't be here."

"We better check it out, see if you can get a lock on the signal's position while I hale him," said the hapan woman, toggling her comlink to a gene, "Whoever was just on the air waves, this is Captain Consta of the Concord Guard, please hold your position until an escort can meet with you. This is a restricted area right now for your safety. Please identify yourself."

She knew almost instantly that she and Brea would have to meet up with whoever this was. Most of the deployed troops had already taken up static positions around the perimeter of the crash site, forming a security cordon which could not have any gaps in it. Perhaps just as importantly, as combat competent as the synthetic soldiers that formed the rank and file of the NORCOM were, their social skills were not always the greatest when it came to diplomatically solving situations.

Caltin listened to Mig explain about the history of his people and while the big man did not personally experience the effects of the invasion, but was aware of the event. It was shameful what had happened to them, regardless of their ability to defend themselves. Attacking a planet, defeating a threat to your way of life is one thing but doing so with no sense of honor or decency is a shame.

You have been fighting the Sith pretty much all of your lives. Founded by an Echani… known for Force Users… even some Jedi dating back around my time. Am I right?

He was not completely aware of their history, but the basics were there. The stories were there.

What she saw… no one her age… even my age should have to see. In my days as a Knight, this would spark a level of anger in me that… well I won’t go there.

The jeid master could hear the two of them talking and she spoke with a small look on her face when she looked up. "What was there, it wasn't entirely real... well depending on your point of view. That was chaos bleeding into our plane, pure darkside energies that corrupt whatever it touches." She said it and continued to walk forward slowly enough but she was giving them a chance to look at it. "I have seen it before... fissures forming not just ot he netherworld but where the force makes the world thing... where things can slip through." SHe nodded for a moment while her Ta-Ree were walking with her and the first bodyguard was standing there with her. "There is a danger it could get worse."

Ever felt like the living embodiment of do, or do not.. there is no win. Draven did.. More times than he could care to admit.

Draven heard the reply on his comm device.
"Whoever was just on the air waves, this is Captain Consta of the Concord Guard, please hold your position until an escort can meet with you. This is a restricted area right now for your safety. Please identify yourself."

Causing a slight wave of agitation to wash over the energetic teenager. Who was more eager to do, than to be told to stay put like some senseless bystander who just wandered into the wrong place at the wrong time. In fairness Draven did reflect that it was likely his best interest to co-operate and clarify. His own social skills were not exactly.. diplomat level of word play.

Draven tuned into the channel and worked on how best to respond. While he sighed and hopped off of the current branch he was on. He needed to be careful not to improperly express himself, or snap at the request to hold position and await an escort. Hostility was not his goal and while his mentor had a very.. blunt approach to solving problems. Draven preferred to turn his fists only towards situations deserving of a beating.

After a breath to calm his nerves he pitched his response. "I'm Padawan Draven Eterena of the Silver Jedi Concord. I shall wait at my current location for the escort. Though would like to respectfully request that your soldiers do not attempt to strip me of my gear when they arrive, Captain Consta. I was seeking your regiment on peaceful and hopefully productive terms to the given operation occurring here."

Draven gave his response and waited for the reply. There was a day even a Padawan of his rank would of outclassed most officers within a force. While some orders still recognized this outdated practice. Some worked more along the lines of equals and in Draven's personal opinion. He had a healthy respect for most officers as they had often times seen more field work than he had. So, in this regards he was careful and polite to suggest he keep his gear and ideally his weapon as a request of good faith, instead of an order.

Draven decided in the meanwhile to close his eyes. Reaching out to a small radius around himself. To start detecting the life of the forest, and when the time came. The presence of the incoming escort. While he did this Draven began to go through the motions of some unarmed strikes and kicks. His flow was slow and focused and he flowed with the movement of the nature around him.

Though would like to respectfully request that your soldiers do not attempt to strip me of my gear when they arrive, Captain Consta. I was seeking your regiment on peaceful and hopefully productive terms to the given operation occurring here."

Trista blinked.

She had prepared herself for a number of possibilities. The most likely, she had thought, had been some overly curious or oblivious local. She had also considered legitimate local medical rescue staff, wannabe heroes, illegal poachers, and reporters. She had not considered a jedi, though in retrospect, she should have considered that. Just because she hadn't been notified of any jedi coming from that route, didn't mean that wouldn't - while she was not experienced in much of the greater galaxy, she had heard that jedi had a knack for showing up at the right time. As she pondered these thoughts, Brea's voice flowed through her helmet's speakers.

"Got a fix, ma'am. He's less than a klick away, due southeast."

She hesitated, "Thanks Brea."

"A rare honor to be a jedi again."

The two started walking through the clumps of trees.

"I've never worked with a padawan before," admitted the hapan officer.

Brea snorted, "We haven't worked with many jedi though."

"No," agreed the captain with a smile, "I guess I still see them mostly as an unknown."

"But an unknown for the good."

She wanted to caution the other woman on that remark - they certainly were infamous stories of jedi turning to the dark side. There were also frauds in the galaxy, though she doubted that few of those would try to pull that in area filled with Concord soldiers. They soon found themselves approaching the padawan, who she guessed was in his late teens. She had expected a human, near indistinguishable from those of her homeworld of Terephon, if slightly more homely. Yet she was surprised by the cool color of his skin, and briefly wondered if his hair coloration was natural as well. She felt a brief surge of curiosity and shame as she thought about her surprise at his appearance. I've been sheltered and isolated for much of my life...but that's one of the reasons I left, right?

"Padawan Eterna?" questioned the hapan woman, "I am Captain Consta. It's not my place to take anything from you, nor to tell you what to do, but I have no information in my briefing about your presence here. Why have you come here?"

"First time on Bothawui?"

Gir blinked and found himself looking up from his datapad to a creamy furred bothan female, clad in a dark, concealing dress. If this had been a popular Core World, he guessed it would have been funeral attire - which it very well could be given the nearby funeral for the fallen hero. Yet her tone did not seem somber, nor did the rest of her manner - at least as far as Gir could tell of bothan body language. Ariela stepped forward from his side.

"His first time yes, but I know where we are going," said his aide.

The bothan eyed Ariela up and down with a mixture of curiosity and suspicion, "You've been here before?"

This one is kind of prying for a stranger...but this is the bothan homeworld...she could very well be a spook or agent meant to gain some sort information out of me, even if it is a basic personality report for some politician that I'll meet later on. Whatever Gir's musings may be, the replica droid was nonplussed by the bothan's question.

"No," admitted the droid.

She probably has the entire city map in her databanks...

"Let me accompany you then," said the bothan, "I am Liska Thri'ia. I would hazard a guess that you are both with the Silver Jedi Concord. Am I right?"

Gir nodded. That was hardly worth denying. While Ariela was probably fairly anonymous, it wouldn't take much work to find his holo somewhere on the HoloNet - especially if she was some government or intelligence agent. Her fur rippled up and down in apparent surpries.

"I didn't expect you to be quite so forthwith."

"No point in lying or obscuring that," said the man, offering a hand to shake, "I'm Admiral Quee."

She lightly grasped it but seemed quick to let it go.

"Gir Quee of the Lucerne companies?"

"The same," said the admiral, turning to the apparent brunette, "and this is my very capable secretary, Miss Captisan."

"By chance," said Liska with a toothy smile, "I too am heading to meet about the new outpost. I saw your name on the list as a possible attendee...I suppose the three of us can be fashionably late, as some Core Worlders like to say."

The funeral continued moving forward interest in it was something she wondered about as the jedi master could feel others off in the area where the outpost would be as well as outside of the city... whcih was good if there were threats then they would be able to handle them as needed. Investigation had led them here but the trail from Krant was well one sided.. the ships came from that world.. they just worked in the aftermath of it here... so the conclusion of it would be needed. She stopped with the procession when they got to the area... grey marble on the wall and alcoves with different flames flickering in the breeze but fueled so that they would never go out. The ashes interred of the man who had helped them and it was more somber as she had some of the jedi present their saabers to respect his family that came to sign and then present their momentos.

THey were showing many of the materials that could be used and if they could get some of the stone they had developed for the silver rest it would be possible to make its layers of security an important aspect to help the world and it could be equipped with shielding projectors that might be able to be used. Jesse stood up working with some of the Bothans that were there with her and she saw Admiral Quee with a bothan female and a woman... which she knew about him laargely from reports more then anything and offered a smile when she spoke and they got closse enough. "Admiral Quee welcome to the site." There was a look more of wondering.. she didn't haave names to go with them so she only offered her hand. "Jesse Organa."
