Mandatory fun.

Fun, but mandatory.

Mandatory, but fun.

Priscilla gave a facsimile of a sigh as she made her way through the sliding doors that led into the multipurpose gym, dressed in the uniform variant of her military bodysuit. While she was happy to serve the Empire, a day such as this, devoted entirely to various activities, team-building exercises, and whatever else her superior officers might have put together, seemed outright frivolous to her. Her squadmates had started to disparage the “Team Building Day” as soon as it appeared on their schedules and Priscilla had quickly agreed with them, in spite of the fact that she had never experienced such a day herself.

They hated it, so it must be bad, right?

And yet, as Priscilla took in the large, expansive space that was the multipurpose gymnasium complex, she was mildly surprised to find activities within that actually seemed fun. A few Fett clones were gathered around a volleyball net. There was an ongoing game of pickleball. A game of pickup basketball. There was even a range for shooting air rifles.

Not to mention, the sports inside the gym were only a few of the many activities on offer, if the itinerary that she had read a few moments before was correct. The organizers had also set up an arcade, a water park, and a wide range of outdoor activities.

Priscilla blinked. For the most part, all of the activities looked fun to her. So, what was it that supposedly made the day so boring?

A hot steaming cup of caf sat on the edge of one of the older machines that had been salvaged from the Empire's past as sparks came from inside the boxy machines. Eventually a Fett Clone shimmied out from the machine's innards, glancing around from his little dark corner of the Arcade before placing the Machine's paneling back into place. Justice wiped his brow, smiling to himself as he switched the power on, and the old machine booted up.

This joy was spoiled when he heard a chuckle as a voice said "So not all the Synetics are useless. They make good repairmen at least." As he glanced back, pretending not to have notice, he spied two male stormtroopers in athletic gear watching over him while they ate at the Arcade's snack shack. He heard some of the stories of the Stormtrooper's Core hatred of clone troopers that had been made to supplement them, but this is the first time he had heard it in person. The other chuckled as he replied "I don't know how they higher ups expect them to perform in the field. They'll probably shoot their officers rather than take a command." The two got up, throwing their food away as they laughed, their talking already moved to another topic as Justice was left boiling over in anger, muttering to himself. "They'll be lucky if I don't shoot them..."

Turning his attention back to the screen, he started a new game. The game was a shooter game which had the player pilot a miniature Tie Fighter against marauding rebel fighters, each with different characteristics that could cause the player to game over. They didn't bother Justice though. He had spent many a quiet night playing this game and repairing it when it broke down and shorted out. This mandatory "fun" day just another excuse to play his favorite game. Unless an officer ordered him to take part in "Team bonding exercises" which he shuddered just thinking about, he would spend as long as he could here in this little dark corner of paradise, trying to beat his own high score.

Priscilla made her way out of the gym and soon found herself in the arcade area. There, she came across a number of game stations on offer, arranged in neat rows. They encompassed nearly every genre of electronic game, including shooters, racing games, dance arcades, gambling simulators, and sports games. Her interest piqued, the biot was immediately compelled to browse, at which point she began to make her way down the closest row, her photoreceptors taking in each game on offer as she passed them.

A few minutes later, Priscilla moved onto the second row, then the third. Since the arcade was much less crowded than the gymnasium, she felt no compulsion to rush. And so, In spite of the vibrant, colorful lights around her, the biot registered a sense of tranquility, which coaxed a small smile from her lips as she turned the corner and made her way into the fourth row.

However, it was only then that she registered a disturbance—a pair of stormtroopers dressed in athletic gear harassing a lone Fett clone who seemed to be busy fixing one of the older machines.

At that, Priscilla frowned as she made her way into the fifth row, narrowing her photoreceptors in an effort to appear focused so as to avoid attracting their attention. After all, the biot was all too aware of the fact that most stormtroopers, especially brotroopers, hardly viewed Army Troopers like her as any better than synthetics.

Not to mention, it didn’t help that Priscilla was synthetic too. And most everyone in her unit knew it. After all, it was almost impossible to miss the eerily doll-like soldier who needed neither sleep nor sustenance.

Focused on his game, he didn't notice the droid enter his row. He did notice one of the comments that one of the brotroopers muttered to the other. "I didn't know they allowed sex droids in here..." It was only then that he looked up from his machine and noticed her walking down the aisle. Glancing up from his machine, he first noticed the Gynoid walking down his row. She seemed... unworldly... Like she had been born perfectly but almost too perfectly. Justice couldn't put his finger on what set her apart, but he could put his finger on one of the bigger wrenches in his toolbox, throwing it like a Nuna, hitting the trooper who said the comment straight in the head. The cracking that came from his skull was very satisfying to his ears.

The other unharmed trooper looked shocked before finally stepping towards him. "I'm gonna..." The look on the clone's face must have stopped him in his tracks as Justice replied with a growl. "You aren't going to do anything... Now you are going to take him to medical for his... "incident" before the same thing happens to you." With an audible gulp, the scared trooper did just that, hurryingly carrying his partner out of the arcade as the clone thought. Why does white armor make people even stupider then normal?

After a couple of seconds of enjoying the silence and brushing his fingers through his military buzzcut, he turned to the blond with a tired smile on his face. "You want to go somewhere else before they have the chance to tattle?"

She should have known better, of course. The two brotroopers not only noticed her, but they also shot her a pair of leering gazes that were equal parts hateful and lecherous. Not to mention, one of the troopers felt bold enough to make an indecent comment just as she passed him by, at which point Priscilla came to a halt and gave an aggravated sigh, before turning around on her heels with an aggrieved expression struck across her features.

“Can you n—” Priscilla began, only for her words to cut off.

“Can I what, miss BD-3000? Can I f—” Suddenly, the brotrooper cut his words upon registering movement out of the corner of his right eye. However, his organic reflexes were far too slow as Priscilla watched the wrench flying through the air in virtual slow motion, before striking him across the skull with a hard bonk. Right on cue, the trooper was sent sprawling to the ground, knocked out cold, drawing a sharp, high-pitched gasp from the biot as she turned around to face the one who had thrown it.

And so, Priscilla watched the scene play out with a wide-eyed gaze as the Fett clone gave the brotroopers one last threat, enough to sufficiently cow the remaining trooper so that he was compelled to beat a hasty retreat from the arcade with his semi-unconscious partner in tow.

Then, there was quiet.

“You shouldn’t have done that. We could get in trouble.” Priscilla commented softly, though her tone was lacking in conviction. “But, thank you for doing it anyway…” The biot stopped to look at the badge on the clone’s uniform, but it only told her his operating number—CT-2282. “Umm, what do you go by?” She asked.

“My name is Priscilla.” Priscilla added as her icy-hued photoreceptors met the clone’s gaze. Of course, he had the same distinct features as every Fett clone. In addition, he had yet to do much in the way of individualizing his appearance, which along with his rank told her that he was likely a shiny. However, Priscilla was a droid and thus was capable of discerning the subtle microexpressions and mannerisms that were unique to every individual. She quickly studied the expressions of this one, taking in everything from the way he stood to the subtle movements of his fingers when idle. The biot flashed him a brief smile then, knowing that she would never forget this particular clone trooper, even if they never saw each other again.

"You want to go somewhere else before they have the chance to tattle?"

“Maybe…” Priscilla began. “Though on second thought, perhaps those brotroopers won’t want to admit that they had their asses kicked by a clone.” The biot finished, with particular emphasis on the word ‘brotroopers’.

The Clone could only scoff in response to Priscilla's comment, trying to dismiss her fears as he picked up the bloody wrench from the floor, using a rag to wipe it off and returning it to his toolbox. No point leaving evidence if the two did decide to tell. "Thats if they could even tell us apart... And it's no problem, ladies like you deserve respect, no matter what your insides are made of. I should know the importance of that more than most." Being a clone, he wasn't meant to be special and sometimes he used that to his advantage, getting away with things he probably wouldn't if he didn't have the same face of thousands of other clones. On the other hand, it meant he didn't have many friends other than his squad which left him lonely. Its why he was trying to make the most of this meeting now because who know when he would meet someone like this again before he fully got deployed. I might as well make the most of this meeting while I can.

He flashed a grin as he offered a handout to her, trying not to be awkward under this new acquaintance's gaze. "Most of my squad mates call me Justice because I like standing up for people even if it gets me in hot water. But I'm glad this incident gave me the chance to meet you, Priscilla." That much was kind of true. It wouldn't be the first time he started a fight because he had been disrespected. It's one of the reasons he was by himself in the arcade for better or worse. Adding other people to his equation of life often didn't end. The bruises under his clothing supported that fact.

Justice chuckled as Priscilla tried to puff up his ego a bit more than it already was. Brotroopers was a word that he needed to stick into his dictionary for later It's going to be hard to stay humble when she is around. Giving her a wink, he slyly commented. "But I didn't kick their asses, I just was working on the games, and the wrench just slipped out of my hand, landing in his head. It's just a really unfortunate accident. But still, we might want to get out of here in case they come back here with friends. Is there an activity you were looking forward to?"

Priscilla’s cheeks flushed crimson as she watched the clone clean the blood off of the wrench, before he placed it back inside of his toolbox. She found herself smiling at his next words, at which point she accepted the offered hand, casting the clone a dreamy glance as she did.

“Justice. Justice. Justice.” Priscilla played with the word on her lips, before giving a soft, girlish giggle. “I like that name. It fits you very well, Justice.” She added. “And I’m glad to have met you as well.” The biot continued. “And I think that you’re right, now that I consider it. We wouldn’t want those brotroopers to come back with more bros.” She finished with a disgusted look set across her features.

"Is there an activity you were looking forward to?"

“An activity that isn’t in this arcade? Hmm…well, now that you mention it…”

Twenty Minutes Later

Back in the gymnasium, the volleyball game had needed only two more players before starting. Fortunately, Priscilla and Justice arrived just in time to take the final slots. And so, as soon as they joined (with a very slight delay to allow Justice to change into athletic attire), the game was underway, with the ball being spiked from one side of the court to another.

From there, it didn’t take long for the game to become competitive, in spite of its casual, pickup nature. Priscilla took a brief look at the holographic scoreboard and bit her lower lip—9-8, in favor of her team.

The opposing team was set to serve for the next rally. The opposing server—a Fett clone known as Kinetic— launched a powerful jump serve, sending the ball flying with breakneck speed towards the rear boundary line on the opposite side of the court. Priscilla ran towards where she anticipated the ball would land, before hitting it upward with a forearm pass just before it would have struck the ground.

Grunting, Priscilla ran back to her position as the ball dropped down from the air. However, since she had just touched the ball, she could not make another contact until after someone else had. Now, it was up to the other players on her team to pass the ball again or send it back over the net, in order to attempt a kill.

In that, Priscilla looked towards Justice, who was positioned closest to where the ball would land if it was not hit.

Well, this wasn't how he thought today was gonna to go. He thought he was just going to have a quiet day playing old games. Instead, he got swayed by an unnaturally good-looking women to play volleyball that had left him trying to keep it physically together. At least Kinetics' serves targeted everyone equally.

As he looked over at her before the other side served, he didn't see a bead of sweat on her, even after she had run back and forth for at least thirty minutes across the court, setting whatever ball came her way. He on the other hand was struggling to keep up with the pace, panting heavily as he tried to match Priscella's and the rest of the clone's pace. This is the first time he had taken part in this physical of an activity and while he did lift weights and exercise when he had the will too, Priscilla was just at another level. She must not be programmed to tire out...

As Kinetic served, Justice bent his knees, ready to pounce if the ball came his way but it didn't. It went towards Priscilla who raced up to the serve and hit back up to the air towards him. It was clearly his time to step up. With a grunt, he set the ball back to her side of the net, giving the opportunity to spike it into the floor. "It's all yours!" It wouldn't be easy though as another clone called "Brock" was already running at the net, ready to block her attempt. It would be a race to see who would reach the net first.

Priscilla’s photoreceptors widened with equal parts approval and excitement. Justice had set the ball perfectly and now, all that was left was for her to spike it over the net. The biot set to doing exactly that, at which point she launched herself up from the floor with a powerful leap, gaining so much elevation that for a split-second it seemed as if her body were floating mid-air. All the while, Priscilla drew her right arm back, before spiking the ball towards the left side of the opposing court with no small amount of force behind the hit.

On cue, the ball landed just inside the boundary line—having been spiked with such speed and precision that none of the players on the other team could have hoped to catch it in spite of their best efforts to do so.

Upon landing, Priscilla glanced up at the scoreboard and smiled, before turning back to Justice. It was now 10-8, in favor of their team.

“That was a perfect set!” Priscilla gushed, before raising her hands up for a double high-five with her new friend. “Let’s keep this up, everyone!” She continued, addressing the others on the team. “Use this momentum to open a gap!” The biot added, before quickly running back to her position on the court, once the team’s brief celebration was finished.

“Justice, you have the next serve!” Priscilla said as she passed the ball back to the clone, along with a playful wink for good luck.

Justice grinned back at her as their hands slapped together, happy that Priscilla got to have an emotional pickup after their last encounter. As she hyped the team up, they grinned and nodded, wanting to win this game as much as she did. Hell, he wanted to do his best just for her. That fact made him blush even more as he caught the ball. Why was he so into the "woman"? Maybe his hormones just hadn't settled yet. But he knew one thing, he wanted to spend more time with her.

Taking a breath, he walked to the corner of the court, trying to push all of the feelings that were swirling around out of his head. It was almost impossible to focus with her around. C'mon... just need to get it over the net... His first attempt did not do that, smacking directly into the net, causing the other team to chuckle at his lack of athleticism. As the ball was passed back for his second try, most of his own team was thinking that the had already lost the point. Giving Priscilla on last glance, he heaved the ball up and hit it fully over the net, the other side scrambling to get it and hit it over. The game was on and hopefully, it ended in their favor.
