Mandates

The Mandates have become official. So now we have to choose one that suits our liking. Keep in mind that we can choose to change it after 60 days.

The two that seem to suit us best are:

Hermit Kingdom - Strengths being that we cannot be rebelled or have flashpoints thrown at us. The flaw being that we can only have one dominion a month, giving any expansion of territory that we'd like to be slow moving, especially given the much smaller hexes.

Defensive Stronghold - Strengths being that we have an unlimited amount of ally slots should we ever be invaded. Given what happened in the skirmish sign up, there were a lot of people from various factions wanting to help us. The flaw doesn't quite affect us, with it being that should we choose to invade someone, we don't have the infinate ally option. But I don't see us wanting to invade anyone anytime soon.

Both are quite good for us. Please relay your thoughts below so that myself and staff can make the choice.

Defensive Stronghold sounds good to me. Rebellions alone aren't the only way for people to take territory away from the CSA, stopping them doesn't mean that we won't be attacked, just that that specific dominion that we've run is safe for a month or so. Given our number of allies and the way we've sought to promote the CSA in working with other factions, I'd like to have more to do with our allies in such threads should they arise.

The CSA has never been one to take the map by storm, our dominions are always taken in our own stride, once a month or more? Doesn't really mean a great deal for us either way but without the rule in place, should we so choose, we could speed things up in the future. It's not really a statement that fights more for either mandate but just giving us the freedom of choosing what we do per month

No I said I liked Defensive Stronghold better out acknowledged that Hermit Kingdom better fit the way you envision the factions goal moving forward. Admit it you will never OOC nor IC acknowledge military actions as an option.

I'll not IC nor OOC endore pre-emptive strikes on others, unless absolutely necessary. I don't want us to turn into the other 'good guy' factions, where the line between good and evil gets blurred to the point where it doesn't exist.

I'd say defensive stronghold, especially considering sith factions are starting ot come back.

Not that I'm currently active on the site, but I figured I'd throw my vote behind Defensive Stronghold. Seems to be the runaway favourite anyway. I would just reiterate Veiere's and everyone else's point that it fits perhaps the faction's most defining strategy/ characteristic which is slow to no expansion and the acquisition of countless allies.

Commenor's allies are arguably its best and most powerful weapon/ shield in any potential conflict. The more other factions understand that, the less appetising invading us becomes, because it becomes increasingly difficult to calculate our strength (number of writers). We could potentially have 20 writers show up in our defence in an instant, where before there seemed to be only a few.
