Private Mandalorian Steel

370d9lz.png

Testing her metal.

That's what this was supposed to be. Alina wanted, no, needed to see just how strong she had gotten. Could she stand up against a Mandalorian and their armor? Their weapons and tactics? They were renown force user killers. What a better way to test her unnatural gift? She'd follow one of these Mandalorians when she found them. A tall figure, clad in obvious Beskar. She didn't want to fight more than one, or have any one in the way. Tatooine seemed to be the best place to try and find them. The bounty hunter world made the most sense for her to try and find someone to fight. Ironically, hiring one made the most sense.

The guise of a job she needed to hire them would work best

Alina stood out in the desert. No one in sight. Her ship close by. A way to leave if things got too much for her to handle. She wasn't here to die, after all. Now she just needed to wait for her 'hired help' to arrive.

Kranak was seated at a corner table in the cantina with his custom datapad in hand, browsing the bounty board, while his seat was kicked back and his feet resting on the table. He had recently finished a bounty in Tatooine and was not satisfied with how it went. There was not a lot of thrill in it. It felt… monotonous. It lacked the thrill of the hunt. He was looking for something more interesting now. After scrolling down the contract board, he came across just that. The details of the bounty were rather obscure, but it demanded that the bounty hunter taking the job would have to be a Mandalorian. That piqued his interest. The bounty could potentially be thrilling. Maybe he would not be killing or bringing alive the usual street trash for once. That would be a much-needed change for Kranak. The description also included that the details of the hunt would only be disclosed face to face with the person that put up the bounty. It sounded serious. It was worth his attention. The location where they would discuss the details was quite remote, however. It was about four hundred kilometers away from Mos Eisley, in the middle of the desert.
<Interesting.> He was not sure what to expect from that, but he took the job anyway. After he accepted the bounty, he left a small tip on the table and got up heading towards the cantina’s exit.

He would need to find means for transportation to reach his target destination, of course. He did not need to look around for too long to find a speeder-bike he could rent. After walking down the narrow streets of Mos Eisley, passing by sales booths and such, he found a 74-Z Speeder with its blasters dismantled. It could do five hundred kilometers per hour. That would have to suffice. He made the exchange of credits and rented the speeder-bike for twelve hours. He could remotely rent it for longer using his custom datapad if the job was on Tatooine and if it were necessary.

He got on the speeder and stowed away his ECM-598 Medical Backpack at the back of the Speeder tightly. He would not want to lose gear when he begun his travel. He started the speeders engine and kept the speed at low until he got out of Mos Eisley. After leaving the city’s borders he increased his speed up to four hundred kilometers per hour. He did not want to keep the patron waiting for too long. The trip would take roughly an hour.

His HUD indicated there was only a kilometer left to his destination. There was a tall sand dune about nine hundred meters in front. He crossed the distance to the sand dune quick, but he dropped his speed gradually to forty kilometers per hour. He had to drop some speed when he needed to climb over the sand dune with his speeder. When he was at the top of the sand dune, he saw the sun rays shining off the plating of a ship, and a silhouette leaning against the ship, taking shelter from the twin suns of Tatooine under the ships shadow. He slowed down his speeder and came to a halt in front of the ship. He turned off the speeder’s engine as he dismounted. He was twenty meters away from what appeared to be his Patron for this bounty. He nodded at the silhouette, said [“I assume you’re the patron for the bounty I accepted.”] and gave a quick glance at his surroundings. He didn’t see anyone else but the person leaned against the ship.

"That would be me." Alina pushed off the side of the simple freighter she'd 'borrowed' from a rather.. Unsavory spacer. She wasn't too sure how to fly it, but all she needed was the ability to get away if this went too far south too quickly. She wasn't sure if she could actually take on a Mandalorian after all. The Sith would step into view, still dressed in what would amount to classic spacer clothing. Enough not to get shot on sight before she was ready. "You can call me Alina. You're dressed like a Mandalorian, so I assume that's what you are?"

Step by step she'd get closer to Kranak Vizsla Kranak Vizsla , hands clasped behind her back. Head held high. She didn't hide the imperial accent she had, no reason now that she was closer to him. "We won't beat around the bush. I'm here to kill you and take that armor of yours." Alina pulled her arms from her back. A saber rested in her hand, which ignited in the blood red blade known for the Sith. "Don't bother holding back."

“That would be me.” She replied to his question earlier. She stepped into view, revealing herself. She wore some spacer clothing. <Interesting clothing choice.> he thought to himself as he watched her get closer slowly, with her hands clasped at her back and her head held high. “You can call me Alina. You’re dressed like a Mandalorian, so I assume that’s what you are?” she inquired. He nodded to her inquiry, acknowledging that he was a Mandalorian. However, her accent caught his ear. He heard of the accent before, but he could not put a finger on it at the moment. He raised an eyebrow out of curiosity, but his facial expression was hidden underneath his helmet.

“We won’t beat around the bush. I’m here to kill you and take that armor of yours.” She spoke harshly as she pulled her arms from her back, revealing a lightsaber clenched in her hands. “Don’t bother holding back.” She retorted as she ignited her lightsaber. The color of the saber was crimson.

He was taken aback from the encounter. He had never experienced something like this before in his life. She opted to create a fake bounty to lure a Mandalorian to her! That was smart, he had to give her that. He came back to his senses and replied
[“Darjetii chakaar!”] as his surprised facial expressions turned to a frown. After he retorted back at her, he activated his repulsor on his left vambrace to push her back to get some distance between them. In a quick action he reached for his Scatter Gun and pulled it over his left shoulder and turned off the safety, pointing the Scatter Gun at her. He had already assumed a defensive stance unconsciously thanks to his years of training. He could perform drills without thinking. He gently squeezed the trigger. The sound of the Scatter Gun ripped through the air and kicked back the sand around him when he fired a shell. He was firing from the hip. He could aim down the sights but with this thing, you wouldn’t have to. The pellets covered a dinner plate sized area so he was certain a few of the pellets would hit her, even if she managed to block some of them with her lightsaber. That would be hard, as the pellets were traveling at an increased velocity compared to blaster bolts.

After firing, he would start stepping back to increase the distance between each other, with the Scatter Gun trained on her, as he chambered a new round, ejecting the spent shell to the sand when he pulled back the pump.

Alina left back with the pulse, more than willing to accept the distance between her and Kranak Vizsla Kranak Vizsla . She was trying to test herself, and a surprise attack on her end certainly wouldn't give her that. Yellow eyes narrowed as the scattergun was pulled free. That was the true trick she needed to figure out how to beat. She didn't bother trying to dodge it, knowing full well that it'd spread too many shots at the same time for her to. But what she could do was what she'd been training. A breath in, then she was gone.

She moved in a burst of inhuman speed as the trigger was pulled to get to the side and out of the shot's spread. It worked! For a moment she felt pretty happy, though the stinging pain in her side cleared that up. It worked, but only just. The Sith winced as the pain registered in her mind, but this wasn't enough to bring her down. Alina used that same speed to try and close in on the Mandalorian, bringing her saber down in a similarly inhumanly strong blow.

At first, he was surprised to see that she did not bother even blocking his shots. But then, he saw her side-step the pellets as he pulled the trigger with an unbelievable speed! He saw the witch pleased with her own performance but that did not last long. He saw three small spots of red on her right midriff, expanding slowly in size. He managed to graze her, despite her inhuman speed! Then she continued to close the distance between them at the blink of an eye! She somehow managed to cross twenty meters that fast! This was a dangerous foe and a worthy foe.

But he was taken aback by the ferocity of her attack! He was not expecting such a savage blow from her. He was impressed. More than impressed if he was to be frank. His heart rate increased considerably as he lifted his left vambrace to block the attack. Sparkles came out from his vambrace when she struck down. She hit with enough force to lift the sand around them. Though it would take more than that to break his bones.

Since his beskar’gam was made of pure beskar, he managed to block her attack, but only just. She hit hard and fast. He had to keep some distance from this foe, for now. He pushed her lightsaber upwards with the top of his vambrace to create an opening for a powerful kick to push her back. He would continue backing away as he discharged his Scatter Gun at her general direction. He started thinking of ways to counter her ability to move fast. He could try using his flamethrower on his left gauntlet to keep her at bay if she came closer. It was worth a try. Moreover, he had some AFG Grenades with him, he could use them if the situation allowed him to.

It was working. This skill she'd picked up. Alina couldn't hide the wide grin on her face as her blade connected with Kranak Vizsla Kranak Vizsla 's vambrace. She couldn't cut through Beskar, but she could try to batter the man underneath. And if she kept up this speed, it'd only be a matter of time before she overwhelmed the Mandalorian. But she needed to hit harder. Much harder. The kick was something normally she could handle. She'd go back with the force given behind it, keep her footing, and charge back in.

The young woman couldn't do that with the sharp pain ripping through her stomach. She visibly winced as she stumbled back, one hand gripping at the dark red spots on her stomach. The grin was replaced by a grimace. The shot was still in her skin. As glancing as the shot was, moving too much and getting kicked only made the wound worse. Way worse than she'd like to admit. Another burst of speed had her away from the scattergun's spray, this time without getting clipped. But in the process she'd only made more distance between them.

Her eyes narrowed further. No, she wasn't ready to fight a Mandalorian. Not like she was.
"I'll take a guess you won't settle for us going our separate ways now?"

He saw the Darjetii named Alina Tremiru Alina Tremiru wince after she received his kick to her midriff. He had put quite the strength to his kick as well, he managed to throw her away about five meters. The kick must have hurt bad, considering he kicked her where her slug wounds were. He could see the hemorrhage worsen when he gave a quick glance at her wound. The red spot had expanded considerably. He could see the palm of her hand that clutched her wounds were covered in her own blood. And again, she managed to dodge his last shot. That was very impressive. He never seen anything like it. He would have to review this combat footage in-depth to get to the bottom of her abilities and develop better ways to counter it.

“I’ll take a guess you won’t settle for us going our separate ways now?” she inquired at the Mandalorian. She new his kind too well. His response to her inquiry was pulling back the pump of his Scatter Gun, ejecting a spent shell and then forward, chambering in a fresh shell into his Scatter Gun, without uttering a word as he kept his eyes on the witch. In a quick action, he activated the flamethrower on his left vambrace. He raised his left hand at his target after as he let go of the pump of his Scatter Gun and unleashed a spray of fire. The roar of the flamethrower split the air as the flames traveled to their target destination. He wouldn’t let her go under his circumstances. She could lure him or others like him into a trap if she was left alive.

The pump of his shotgun was enough for her to know it was time to go. She hit a button on the comlink attached to her wrist, activating the failsafe. A droid on the ship behind went right to work on getting the ship in the air. Then the fire came. Alina blinked in surprise as she saw the vambrace light up. It made sense, Mandalorians had those kind of weapons, but facing the intense heat sent quite the shiver of fear up her spine. She dove backwards, under the flame as she could feel her skin singe just a bit.

She truly wasn't ready for this kind of battle.

Thankfully the ship took off behind her, the ramp lowered and ready. She flashed a grin as she jumped up onto the ramp, giving a bow. One that she regretted immediately with the pain in her side but she tried none the less. "Till the next time, my friend."

Kranak saw the Darjetii hit a button on her wristlink. What followed was the gentle hum of her ship’s engines. She managed to dodge the flames he sprayed using his flamethrower. She not only dodged the flames but also made it to the ramp of her ship. She truly was agile. But she was somewhat inexperienced as it looked like it to him and her skills were not refined. It was the smart choice for her, swallowing her pride to fight another day. He could respect that. To him, that was a strength on its own. Live to fight another day. There was no shame in defeat if the fight was honorable. He was somewhat certain they would meet again.

“Till the next time, my friend.” She uttered with a crooked grin on her face. He assumed she was in pain due to the pellet wounds he had inflicted at her from earlier. He lowered his Scatter Gun as he let go of the fore end, his right hand clenching the pistol grip. He slowly approached the small pool of the Darjetii’s blood. He crouched over it and gripped a handful of sand that was soaked with her blood. He stood up and glanced at her ship flying away in the distance, his left hand still clutching the blood-soaked sand. [“Till we meet again, Darjetii Alina Tremiru Alina Tremiru .”] he muttered in a low voice.

He would keep a sample of her blood to track her down when he had the time. That was a worthy foe, and maybe she had a bounty on her head. However, he would have to find out how she was so fast and develop a countermeasure for her and future foes that posses her ability. He was not too knowledgeable about the Jetii or the Darjetii to begin with. Maybe hers was a common trait for both. He would not know until he did some research. He stored the blood-soaked sand into a Field Collection Kit. He made sure to get as much as he could to use the DNA Sample to locate her when it was time. He closed the tube’s lid and stored it inside his ECM-598 Medical Backpack and got on his speeder. He would make his way back to Mos Eisley to get some rest and deliver the 74-Z Speeder back to the rental service he took it from. Then, he would get some rest in the cantina and start looking for an actual bounty this time.
