TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Top mounted loading system
  • Coated in a thin layer of Beskar
  • Can be modified to be worn on the right or left arm
  • Can be fitted with a "Bantha Eye" Laser Sight to assist in aiming the weapon
  • Technically possible, though perhaps inadvisable, to mix and match different projectiles fired from the Mandalorian Lanvarok
  • Can be equipped with one of three firing mechanisms:
    • Thumb Release
      • The user presses a button with their thumb to fire the weapon, as is traditional on the Sith Lanvarok. This method is the easiest and simplest way to fire the weapon, though it makes holding something in the hand when not using the Mandalorian Lanvarok awkward and far more difficult
    • Wrist Release
      • The user flexes their wrist downwards to fire the weapon, like one might do when using a Whipcord Launcher. This method allows the weapon to be used while holding an item in the hand, though it is the method most likely to cause friendly fire or accidental discharges
    • Side Mounted Release
      • The user presses a button on the side of the weapon, like one might do when firing a Wrist Rocket Launcher. This method is the most accurate way to fire the weapon and potentially the most familiar to Mandalorians, though it is the slowest and forces the users to use their other hand to activate the weapon
STRENGTHS
  • Convenient: Because it is mounted on the forearm, the Mandalorian Lanvarok is easy and unobtrusive to carry into combat
  • Quiet: The Mandalorian Lanvarok is nearly silent when firing, making it far more difficult to avoid or detect the projectiles that it fires
  • Lightsaber resistant: The Mandalorian Lanvarok is coated in a thin layer of Beskar, allowing it to deflect and resist lightsaber strikes during close quarters combat
  • Versatile: Mandalorian Lanvaroks can be customized in a number of different ways, including which arm the weapon is worn on and the way that the weapon itself is activated
  • Reusable: Some of the projectiles fired from the Mandalorian Lanvarok can be picked back up and reused should the user of the weapon miss their target
  • Surprising: As Sith Lanvaroks are generally relatively unknown weapons, the Mandalorian Lanvarok may give its user an element of surprise against less knowledgable enemies
  • Powerful: For a weapon of its size and type, the Mandalorian Lanvarok is surprisingly powerful, especially when using certain types of projectiles
WEAKNESSES
  • Loud: Though the Mandalorian Lanvarok itself is nearly silent when firing, some of the projectiles that it fires may not be, such as Vibro-Stars or Morturian Energy Disks
  • Bulky: Though itself quite small and convenient to carry, wearing a Mandalorian Lanvarok will prevent its user from equipping a Mandalorian Vambrace on the same arm
  • Slow reload: The biggest weakness of the Mandalorian Lanvarok remains its rather slow reload time, as it requires that the weapon be loaded with one projectile at a time
  • Difficult: Reloading a Mandalorian Lanvarok is also said to be surprisingly difficult, especially when its user is under attack or duress, due to its use of such dangerous projectiles
  • Inaccurate: The Mandalorian Lanvarok can be difficult to aim at long range, even when equipped with a "Bantha Eye" Laser Sight, making it best used at short distances
  • Small capacity: Even when using the thinnest ammunition possible, the Mandalorian Lanvarok can only hold a total of 20 projectiles at once
DESCRIPTION

During his 15 years of forced servitude to the Sith, Gel Karn Gel Karn saw and learned to make hundreds of rare and unusual weapons for his Sith Masters, one such weapon being a device called a Sith Lanvarok. After being freed from slavery by Siv Dragr and the brave Mandalorians of the Iron Covenant, Gel went to work replicating the Sith Lanvarok and modifying it to better suit the needs of his rescuers, creating the so called "Mandalorian Lanvarok" in the process.

Compared to a standard Sith Lanvarok, the Mandalorian Lanvarok is coated in a thin layer of Beskar, allowing the device to be used as impromptu armor against lightsaber strikes during close quarters combat. The Mandalorian Lanvarok has a greatly increased ammunition capacity compared to its predecessor, being able to hold a maximum of 20 projectiles at any one time, whereas the original Sith Lanvarok could only hold five.

Mandalorian Lanvaroks can also hold a variety of different projectiles depending on mission parameters, and can be modified to be worn on either the right or left arm, along with having the option to equip one of three firing mechanisms, each with their own advantages. Absent on the Mandalorian Lanvarok is the small nub trigger that could be fired using the Force, since the weapon is designed to be used by Non Force Sensitives.

Unfortunately, the Mandalorian Lanvarok does still suffer from a short range, long and difficult reload and relative inaccuracy, though any force sensitives who do use the weapon can guide its projectiles to their targets, or use the weapons "Bantha Eye" Laser Sight as a point of reference. For Gel Karn Gel Karn in particular, this weapon is especially important to him, as the psychological torture he suffered at the hands of the Sith conditioned him to be unable to use blasters or slugthrowers, limiting the ranged weapons he is able to use against his enemies and those of the Iron Covenant.
