Making It Worth It

The Dunes were angry, something had disturbed it's usual sleep. Jan knew what that meant as the winds picked up and sand started to rise like insects, and swarmed all over him. Jan waited a sec for his HUD to come online and the flashlight on his left shoulder, until he could see through the sandstorm. He had been out hunting again, but knew if there was a chance for salvage he had to take it. Jan raised his hand and felt the winds flowing towards the east. He lowered his hand and started walking through the storm to where the storm was pointing him. He traveled using his HUD and his flashlight throught the angry storm. The Dunes are the only thing he understands, and they are angry.

Jan moved through the sand, the thermal gel and cooling systems in his armor keeping him from feeling the full force of the two suns of Tatooine. I wonder what I might find this time Power packs? some durasteel scrap? Even some Sand People would mean some scavenge for me. Jan had been on plenty scavenging and salvaging runs. It kept his home running, and his armor too. The winds picked up as Jan moved farther east. He soon saw black starting to form in with the sandstorm. Something has crashed......I hope there are no survivors. Jan did not want to deal with helping them, and escorting them back to the nearest settlement. The Dunes let out a wail as Jan moved through the storm.

"I am only passing.......I have done it many times before, why should it be different today?.......' Jan spoke through his helmet. Slowly, The Dunes wailed softer and the sandstorm lessened, only slightly.

"......Thank you my friend....." Jan whispered as he continued to move towards the east.

Jan started to notice damage to the terrain. Scrap and debris littered the sand, fire still clinging to parts. Jan took his E-11 off his back soon began to walk through debris and scrap. Jan noticed no pieces were larger than his thigh. Small vessel, most likely fighter or scout ship. The storm started to die down, and Jan soon came upon the crash site. Jan walked over the remains of the ship, picking them up ad tossing them aside. Looks like Mandalorion design....... krak. Jan came upon the ship, it looked like a small Mandalorion scout ship. The wings have been ripped off on impact, and Jan was pretty sure he had run into the engine a couple feet back. The cockpit was 30 feet away, slightly buried underneath the sand. Jan slowly approached with his rifle, and when he was 10 feet from the cock pit shouted "Anyone alive?!"

".........................................."

"Good, because I'm coming in!" Jan shouted happily.

Jan slowly walked over to the cockpit and aimed his rifle inside. He was greeted by a dead Mandalorion, or he guessed it once was Mandalorion. The body was sprawled across the controls, one arm forward as if reaching for aid. The other arm was gone, no where to be seen. The head was a pulping mass of blood and bone. The weirdest thing though? It was stripped completely of the armor it once wore. A Mandalorion without armor........something's not right. Jan turned around and walked around the cockpit, investigating the area of the crash. He stooped low after a minute, and moved his hand over imprints in the sand. Footprints.
