OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

  • Intent: To submit a very Raykkan solution to a particularly esoteric problem.

  • Primary Source: /
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: The Makesh Cartel
  • Affiliation: The Makesh Cartel (x)
  • Model: Spirit d-Emitter
  • Modularity: No
  • Production: Minor (Large groups of characters. (IE: Multiple factions, companies, or groups.)
  • Material: Durasteel, copper, wires, chips of kyber crystal, sonic emitter components
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • d-Emitter. The Spirit d-Emitter utilizes small chips of kyber crystals, hooked up to a very Raykkan (makeshift, rusty and crafty) contraption. Utilizing classical sonic weaponry components it channels the harmful waves through the still-sentient kyber crystal shards. Which resonate them back into the world. Their strange connection with the Force adds to its final effect: sonic waves that do not harm the physical realm, but actively interfere with the spiritual one. When the d-Emitter is activated, spirits, force-constructs and other creations bound together through the Force are actively repelled by its effect. At a low yield, they might experience discomfort and the general dislike of the location where the generator is located. A high and focused yield can cause active damage to the fabric of the spirit, causing it to be eventually destroyed or at least banished. This is presumably an uncomfortable experience to the kyber crystal remnants.
Strengths:
  • Spirit-Be-Gone: Actively interferes with spirits, ghosts, force constructs or other embodiments of the (Living or otherwise) Force.
  • Scrappy: Raykkan engineering looks ugly af, but can take a beating. Snow, sand, hail, it can survive it all and still remain active and functional.
Weaknesses:
  • Nay-Physical: Yeah, it doesn't do anything to the living, except maybe a mild case of explosive diarrhea if you are particularly One With The Force.
  • Stationary: Once it stands... it stands. It takes hours to dismantle and move it. So, if you are in a hurry? Well. Stop being in a hurry and relax.
  • Material: Compared to its effect on spirits and ghosts, it only has a marginal effect on physical creations born from the Force. On its maximum setting, it might shatter glass created through the Force, but that is about it. Weapons, armor, artifacts are mostly immune to its effects. Raykkan R&D is currently looking into this problem. (This would need a new factory submission, of course).
DESCRIPTION

"Use the Force, Lu- wait. What's... ugh, I don't feel so well. Sorry, kid, you are on your own, I need to go and lie down for a bit."
Whenever there is a new avenue to exploit? You better believe the Raykkans try to be there first. One of their many enterprises has been the excavation and exploitation of ancient tombs. On their worlds, other worlds, that doesn't really matter. The trade in artifacts, art and other valuable goods has been good for the Makesh Cartel. Sadly... these tombs are usually guarded by Force stuff. Raykkans really dislike Force stuff. So, they went out of their way to find a proper solution for them.

They never really found much use for kyber crystals in the past.

Oh, they were kinda shiny. Pretty enough to make a nice sale. But otherwise functionally useless... until the day one enterprising Raykkan engineer started tinkering with them. They were connected to the Force. Kinda sentient too. The latter of which was irrelevant, but the former? It gave them an idea. The first Spirit d-Emitter was created soon afterwards.

Scrap a few chips off the crystal. Hook it up to a machine that is geared with sonic emitter components.

What do you get? A sonic animal repeller, but for pesky spirits. Now every time the Raykkans excavate a tomb? They plop one down. Maybe two or three, if its a really big tomb. Or like a mausoleum. By then the spirits usually don't bother with the worker crews.

They are way too busy dealing with the spiritual equivalent of a morning hang-over.

Can I ask you to expand on the affect on non-sentient constructs that are connected to the force? You only really mention how Living beings can feel discomfort or even pain. But make no mention of what it does to say, weapons, armor, or other Force based crystals?
