Make a Mando Out of You

Chekita slowly passed back and forth in the Alderan Royal training academy, donned in her Blue Guard armor she wore on duty, well all except for the helmet, there was not point in wearing it at the moment. As for today the women was not on duty, but in fact going to train her new husband in the ways of Mandaloiran fighting and culture, not there was a whole lot difference between the two. Cyran would be a little surprise by his wife high rank as a body guard for the Organa family, though she never made it well known, would complicate things back on Mandalor, still being the new Alor that could all change.

Speaking of which said husband should be arriving any second now, Chekita having booked the area for a somewhat private session so no one would bother them, she just hopped the zeltron would be able to find his way through the complex. It wasn't the easiest to get through not after the major rebuilding from the planet wide Sith attack a year or two ago, probably some part that were still under the odd construction or maintenance.

Cyran had never been to Alderan before, or any of the more "nobel" worlds as he considered them. They were rather pretty planets as well, full of the educated and well cultured. Not much like the party planet that was his home world. Moving through the complex he didn't feel like he had much time t admire the Aldreanean architecture.

Still the Zeltron was probably gonna go through some culture shock as he was being thrust into the galaxy as a Mandalorian. Not to mention the whole getting kidnapped and marrying said kidnapper. But his new wife's ties to the planet's royalty was just another surprise to him. He hoped he didn't let her down with being such a nobody compared to her. It's not like he knew what her expectations were.

Eventually he made it to the room in which they'd be training, a pretty spacious room with his wife who was pacing in the room, awaiting him. Cyran was wearing his cheapo knock off armor, without his helmet since it got crushed like an aluminum can during their fight. After the fact he was surprised that the shots he took didn't penetrate his armor. Walking into the room he spoke to Chekita. "Hey sweat heart, I hope I'm not that late..."

Chekita turned around to view Cyran, one hand on hips, the other cupping the ornate styled helmet from the armor given to those in praetorian squad, "late early don't really matter to me, I make my own time, but good to see you again babe, got all you un-fancy dags on good". Stepping fowards she began to circle around Cyran, getting a better look at his armor and war gear, during their small skuffle she didn't get a very close inspection, less so after they had both stripped down.

"Hmmm no bad, looks quite crude, could maybe pass it off as an old battle worn one, though it lacks the proper craftsmanship of an actual Beska grab, you make this of by it off someone else? Also what is it made from durasteel"? Perhaps now she'd be able to get the man an actual set of proper Mandaloiran armor being an Alor and having close relations with Kaine Australis, he ran a forge and had agreed to make some armor for her, sure was taking his dam time come to think of it. Either way the man did good work and in her mind it was worth the wait, "well armor aside, what sort of weapons you have with you hone? I noted in our duel some sort of wrist thing, any other secrets I should know about"?

[member="Cyran Vaas"]

As she walked around him some, he tensed up a little. Since his more normal persona had yet to fully catch up to the whole situation. When she asked what his armor was made out of he'd reply. "Um, it's uh, Duraplast, and Plastoid mix. It was probably the cheapest replica set of Mandalorian armor I could find when I left Zeltros." Then he listened to her next question about what weapons he had.

"Oh, for my main weapons I just have these old blaster pistols." He said, referring to the ones on his thighs. "I didn't use them much during the fight though, I guess you could say I had a soft spot for you from the start." He said with a bit of a chuckle. "As for the other tricks, the darts were only thing other then the rocket on my jetpack. I've been slowly acquiring more gadgets in my time hunting. Based on our fight I'm guessing your a fan of slugsthrowers. I can certainly see the practicality in them over blasters."

She let of a fake winch of pain at the notion of a duraplast outfit of a Mando garb, that was not going to fly well, "seems we have some shopping to do, I know during a raid some time ago the clan was able to salvage some old armor the was word by our past warriors, certain there are some parts you can use for a new outfit". If not there was enough rawr metal to forge some new stuff, though for the time being hi armor would do, it seemed to work well enough.

His weapon were a little better but could use some upgrades, "keep the needles they may come in handy for people who are not wearing as much armor and the rocket and jet pack are fine, just keep an eye on them make sure they don't explode on you". Another reason for the use of beska in their armor, was quite handy when things started going boom in nth sky, which lead to another question. "Hon, how good are you at ariel warfar? you can fly and shoot straight right? one of the first things to know when becoming a Mando", was also handy in other situations too.

[member="Cyran Vaas"]

"I'll be honest and say that I'm surprised this knock off armor held up as good as it did, given the fact that you shot me. But I certainly agree that I should get some newer and better attire." He replied to her statement about getting new armor for him. Hearing her talk about surviving explosions made him a little worried though. Still grasping the world he was entering.

Then he was asked about how well he was ariel warfare, despite considering him a good shot with his blasters but he never really flew and shot at the same time. "If I'm gonna be honest with you sweetheart, that stunt I pulled when we met is probably the best extent of my flying combat, and as you witnessed it wasn't that good. So I can understand if that's something you'd like to work on with me."

In the back of his mind he was still wrapping his head around being a married man now, did this mean he was gonna be a father, was he gonna "settle down" in some house on some nice planet and set aside a life of adventure like he always wanted... probably not, what he did know of his new spouse was that she didn't seem like the kind of person to want to "settle down".

"Well my silenced pistol is for people not wearing armor, now if I shot you with my heavy revolver you may have found your head having an extra hole in it". It was certainly lucky on both their parts, more so because being all silent wasn't exactly her style, fortunately the whole take down the slaver operation had to be silent to not alert other cells in the area.

She let off a small laugh, remembering the tackle, it was certainly very sudden, only a person who had not experience with a jet pack could pull off something so desperate and reckless. Even she wasn't silly enough to use a jet pack in that small a space and for that purpose... and she was insane. "That could be a good place to start, does your version still work or will we have to get you a new one honey"? She honestly couldn't remember if t she had checkeed the mans equipment after stripping him down back at the room, yep stripping.

It was kind of funny how they had met, she had half assumed her husband would have been some Mando that would approach and challenge her in combat for wedlock. Then again several past dates had been from herself bumping into another bounty hunter of body guard, the two fighting and in some occasion her opponent winning. Though out of all the dates she went on and people she had fought Cyran was certainly unquie.

Cyran was almost getting lost in his thoughts when she asked him if his version stilled worked. Thinking about how he'd break it to the folk back home that he's has not only gotten into a romantic relationship...again... but that marriage was imitate. But when he finally realized Chekita had asked him a question he's reply. "Oh, uh, Yeah it still works. I had to tinker with it some though after we uh... got to know each other." He said with a bit of a change of color. Turning a deeper shade of red. It wasn't that easy to make a Zeltron blush from his experience. He would say that's just a estimate to how unconventional of a women she was.

"The first few tests after fixing it it puttered out some, but it still works. It's not gonna fail on me mid flight I know that." Personally as a spacer he thought it was best for someone to get familiar enough with their own gear so they could fix it on their own if they needed to. Thinking about that caused him to daydream a bit once more. Considering how he behaved back home with so much euphoria he could only image how his wife would fair on Zeltros. If she hasn't been there before that is.

Chekita gave a nod towards her husband as he explained the jet pack was still functional. "Well you can keep using that, Mando's are less strict about those sorts of things, mainly since it is not out of the ordinary to have your pack blow up or be badly damaged during battle". "Not that you shouldn't take care of it, doubt it's cost effective to buy a new one each week, just make sure it doesn't malfunction". Would be bad for her already hot husband to become too hot, and melt and die, she was over 30, not exactly much time to look for a new husband.

"Anyways probably something to test out, I have an idea for your skill with a blaster already, but now I'd like to see how well you can shoo while in the air and on the move". Turning around her hit a few switched that made some targets at the other end of the room stand up, each shifting left and right a little to simulate real life movement. "Go ahead and give it a go, if it's to easy I'll add some spunk to it, say shoot at you a little to make things seem a bit more realistic, and don't worry, I won't aim for anything below the hips".

[member="Cyran Vaas"]

Cyran watched along as the targets began to move. Trying to get the pattern down. Just as he was about to launch himself with his jetpack he heard the last part of her ending comment. Flashing her a sly smirk before shooting himself into the air. As soon as he felt like he was at a decent height he quickly drew one of his blaster pistols and took a shot with his arm extending out to the targets. He missed his first shot however.

Displeased with the result he quickly pulled out his second blaster and took a shot at the same moving target, hitting it this time one because he was compensating for the slight bobbing in the air. Now with both blasters drawn he could start seeing how well he could do. Every half second or so he would take a shot. at a different target. Aim, look down sights, fire, repeat. That was the flow in which he did things.

In order to further simulate a more combat based experience he'd try shifting himself from side to side as if dodging invisible incoming fire, all the while still firing his blasters. He missed the first couple of shot but managed to get back on track with hitting the targets.

Chektia just continued to smile at the Zeltron as the training field started up watching from the side as things went underway. Things started off slow but bit by bit she could see the man getting used to the current test, each passing second his shots being more accurate and consistent. Even when he started to move around did the Cryan land most his, seemed it was already time to pick up the anti on the exercise.

With no hesitation Chekita walked over to were the targets were, pulling up a random blaster from the weapons rack on the side, aiming with little care towards her husband. Then, without warning did she begin to let of short bursts of blaster fire, just to see how he would react first, she could always try to actually aim if things were too easy for him.

[member="Cyran Vaas"]

Soon, Cyran's firing became a tad more hesitant as he watched to see what Chekīta was up to. Seeing her walking over to where the targets were kind of worried him. He certainly didn't want to shot at her on accident. He stopped firing for a moment and looked down at her. Then as soon as she picked up the blaster he knew what was up.

Although she wasn't shooting to kill, or even hit him he still needed to worry about dodging the now incoming fire. Up, down, left, right were the directions he'd move if necessary. All the while continuing his how shots. It was a little difficult though having to divert his attention to both Chekīta and the targets. Even though she did say she would be doing this.

Eventually though the split in attention caught up to him and he overcompensated for one of his dodges. When he moved back he accidentally moved into on coming fire meaning he dodged again. However, this time he lost control from the more frantic movements he was doing. To avoid possibly cracking his head into the ceiling or the floor he turned off the jetpack mid flight and simply fell to the ground. He did land on his feet, but sense he was flailing around a bit he ended up falling over and hitting the floor. Fortunately just not at the breakneck speeds the jetpack could've provided.

Chekita gave close observance to her husband as things got more intense, it was clear the strain of keeping his eyes on so many things was taking a toll. When that over compensating move came she knew it was game over for the Zeltron, wathcing with her even present smile as the body came tumbling down to the ground, making a resounding smack upon impact. 'Hmmm the acoustics of this place are good, could probably leas it out to a band while it's not being used to train'.ye

With a casual shurg she began to make her way over to the fallen man, kneeling down at his side, giving a once over, "well I am no medical expert... well not a orthodox one anyways, but I can tell you are fine, maybe at the most a small bruise here and there". With one hand she grappled hold of Cryan and lifted him back to his feet, "but still that was a good first go, or what I assume if your first time shooting while flying, but a gun range and battlefield are quite different places, I think I'd have to see you in an actual fight to really know your skill".

"Over all aim was plenty good, you just seem a little to eager to avoid any damage, if I had been in your boots a few grazes would be on my armor". It often being more ideal to take a small hit and you yourself get the killing shot then trying to doge every single enemy attack. "Still all the more reason for you to get a new suit, so you can take a few blaster bolts and keep on kicking".

[member="Cyran Vaas"]

Feeling that he was okay given the drop he looked up to Chekita as she walked over to him. From his stomach down, prone position. His expression become more surprised as she managed to lift him up without much effort from his position. He'd experience a bit of tunnel vision now as the smack look almost all the air out of his lungs, but he could hear just fine. Listening to her it sounded like they had two different kinds of strategies for dealing with adversaries. The old debate as to what was better, never getting hurt with armor or never getting hit with dexterity. Personally he was someone that figured it was better to try and not get hit then to put faith in armor.

Then again he probably only felt that way because he had bad armor. If anything the tin foil he was wearing made him more of a Mandalorian cosplayer then anything. Cyran nodded along with what she had to say. "Perhaps you're also just more courageous then I am..." He replied to her in regards to not wanting to take on blaster fire.

It was important for him to start learning all this now, he was going to be working under The Sith Empire's banner for their upcoming conflict, and he still wanted to comeback alive. Especially now that he was a married man. He just hoped he wouldn't be in any dire situations like managing a crash landing. "Also it really seems like having Mandalorian armor is a little more quintessential then I'd thought."

She had to laugh a little at the mans comment about being brave in the, "well when you manage to survive an explosion from a missile launcher and have to drag yourself to a hospital with rebar sticking out of your waist a few blaster bolts are not much of a threat". "It sort of comes with practice, and wearing armor you know you can trust, not that your own little method it bad it's just not the best for taking on multiple targets at once". After all getting slightly wounded was much better then dying on the battlefield, with all the medical technology that was available to people these days even some grievous wounds were easily taken care of.

"Quintessential, yes it is, the armor is more then just a suit you wear, it is your peoples culture, origin, pride and so much more, to the point all our suits are reforged from the original". "I myself do not have one yet but I do have enough armor scraps and section to make a new one, which hopefully once I have passed is used by another clan member and so on". That in a sense was what made Mandos different from the other warrior cultures in the galaxy, and what had made then stick out for so long. "And once you have passed your trials and have become blooded, a suit of your own can be claimed or made, depending on your workmanship with a hammer, if not there are plenty of armor smith in the ME that could fill in such an order with ease".

[member="Cyran Vaas"]

As Chekīta spoke he was beginning to get a tad worried for his own sake. It sounding like he was gonna need to get pretty badly hurt in order to start appreciating his armor. Like some kind of very harmful training. But he didn't realize that the armor had such cultural significance. If he did, well, he probably wouldn't have been wearing his replica. Since it sounds like if he ran into someone more fiercely patriotic then her... well he wouldn't be going after bounties anytime soon.

"I've never really had to smith anything before, so when the time comes I'll see if I can't give it a shot." Having his own set made him think what kind of color he'd want to his armor. Since from his understanding what color you did have it meant something for the most part. He also heard that people just chose what they liked and that was it.

"How long does it take for someone to finish there trials?" He asked, not sure if this was gonna take a decade or far less time. But all this was still quite new to him so he figured he'd might as well ask. Maybe when there together again he'll ask what it means to be blooded as well since that sounded pretty important.

Well it was to be expected, Zeltrons were not really known for smithing, and considering the mans more or less fake persona she never expected him to have had much time in that area. At the very least he was willing to learn, such was a good start to things, "good to hear but I think it would be better to start on simple things before moving to armor, leave that part to me, I've got a friends who owes a few favors anyways". Could probably get him to make her an extra set for Cryan under nose, she was keeping her new marriage a little secretive, would be a bit controversial for an Alor to marry a pretend Mando.

"Trials? well it depends, you yourself have already proven to be a capable fighter, most are 'blooded' or become a fully fledged Mandoloiran after trail by fire in a battle". "We will probably have to make your trials a little unorthodox, tell me are you by any chance going to war soon? if so that could be a good opportunity to pass the first steps". With the galaxy they lived in mercenaries were always in need, even bounty hunters were often recruited for military service, even if it didn't suit their play style.

[member="Cyran Vaas"]

Listening on to her he actually felt like he had a decent answer for her. "Actually, yeah I'm gonna be working for The Sith Empire in there new invasion against the other guys." He said scratching his head. "So uhhh, yeah... surprise..." He said, now just breaking the news that he was indeed going to war. Given his wife's "uniqueness" he didn't think she'd be mad at him for just telling her this now pretty much just before he was going. Then again she did ask it in a very casual way he felt.

"So this "Trial by fire" is kinda just like being a war vet?" he asked her. "Or is it some kind of ritual I need to perform while in battle?" Cyran added to his question. He was worried now that he wasn't gonna be coming back whole. He just needed to promise himself that he wasn't gonna be a hero and doing anything stupid.

Based on the name he hoped he didn't need to enter a battle field while on fire. But given that most Mandalorians he seen and hear of weren't burn victims, Chekīta was living proof of that. So it must be more figurative.

Chekita looked a Cyran with a blank stare, that was never a good thing, some who knew Chekita would say no smile was worse then her most insane looking one. "Honey, you know that we are on Alderan right? and that the Sith Empire invaded this planet a few months ago, killed 30% of the population and destroyed much of the city"? She let the words hang in the air for a few moments, just staring at her husband, but before long returning to smiling once again, "ahh who cares, not like I've done some horrible things in my life, just don't die, or so anything stupid, who you fighting anyways"? Would be interesting to know who her husband would be killing in the next month or so, maybe he could get a battlefield present for her while away.

"Verd'goten as it is called is a traditional right of acceptance for our people, usually it is for children who since the ages of 8 have studied art and war, they are tested at age 13 in the skills they have learnt, both fighting, survival and so forth". "You yourself are a decent fighter with room to improve and I am not sure what wilderness survival skills you have, and considering you are 20 I am more or less just condensing the trials it you living through the war you're apparently going to be in", "Come back alive and I will accept you into the clan as a fellow Mandaloiran, then we can share a drink as per custom, but again this is a little more unorthodox then usual". She gave a more warm smile to Cryan, herself confident that he could come home in one piece.
