  • Primary Source: N/A
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: RMIA
  • Model: Maka Pilikia
  • Affiliation: Closed market
  • Modularity: Colors can be changed for user's preference
  • Production: Minor
  • Material: Vong tissue
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Cool vision spectrum
  • Force dead
  • Self healing
  • Virtually Undetectable
DETAILED SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Cool Vision spectrum: This biot allows the user to see in the Infared and ultraviolet spectrums as well as the ability to see heat signatures.
  • Force Dead: For good or bad, this is force dead.
  • Self healing: It may take time, but this thing can totally heal itself. It can't really be repaired except by a skilled Vong Shaper
  • Virtually Undetectable: This doesn't show up under really any scanner at all--except maybe some high tech bio scanners and med scanners. In that case it appears as some sort of weird growth, maybe even as a parasite or cancer tumor, maybe if someone knew what they were looking for they'd see the biot, but still it doesn't show up under most conventional scanners except as a weird eye growth.
Strengths:
  • Awesome View: The user of this biot is able to see things they never could have otherwise through this eye: Infared, untraviolet, and heat signatures.
  • Force dead: Since its force dead, this thing cannot be blinded by or cloaked by the Force.
  • Self-healing: Even though it takes time, this thing will heal over time. So, say you get a blast that melts your face off and totally blows your eyes up. As long as there is some tissue sample left in this eye socket, the biot will grow back. It just takes time.
  • Virtually Undetectable: his doesn't show up under really any scanner at all--except maybe some high tech bio scanners and med scanners. In that case it appears as some sort of weird growth, maybe even as a parasite or cancer tumor, maybe if someone knew what they were looking for they'd see the biot, but still it doesn't show up under most conventional scanners except as a weird eye growth. This makes it perfect for spies or other folks who have to be subtle about seeing beyond what they are supposed to see.
Weaknesses :
  • Blinded: In this eye that the vong biot has burrowed, the user is unable to see normally again along the regular light spectrum.
  • Permanent: This biot literally becomes part of the user's eye, the only way to remove it is to take the eye out. They'd need a replacement eye
  • Hates Force users: If this is placed in a Force user, the biot will not stop at the brain, it will burrow deeper along the optic nerve and attack the brainstem until it and/or the user are dead.
  • Force dead: Since its force dead, this thing cannot be healed by the Force.
  • Still Vulnerable: Though this thing sees other wavelengths of light, this too can be combated with anything that bends these wave lengths and removes their heat signature, Force use or otherwise.
DESCRIPTION
Vision. The warrior is only as good as their intel, and the greatest form of intel is the warrior's eyes. For most species, this is their primary sense. Sure you can wear a HUD, sensor package, and full armor--but what if your a spy? Or what if your hit by an EMP that knocks your armor out? Or what if the armor runs out of batteries? You are screwed, that's what.

Enter the Maka Pilikia. The Maka Pilikia, or eye bug is a genetically altered vong parasite. The original parasite was something like a leach or worm that would burrow into their eyes, lay seeds, and leave--you can use your imagination from there as to what would happen.

But RMIA is all about taking lemons and making space lemonade. So they took this parasite and the shapers began to work with it, slicing its DNA and tampering with this leach until they produced something great, something that they could sell and make the galaxy a better place.

Here is how it works:

The Maka Pilikia is placed on the eye. It burrows into the eye in a pretty painful experience. Its recommended to have a doctor on hand. For 2-3 weeks the eye is rendered useless, bandages and painmeds are highly recommended during this time period. During this period the Maka Pilikia is burrowing into the cornea, latching itself into the optic nerve, feeding into the brain with gorgeous little tendrils that look like roots, and re-placing the cones and rods that make up the eye.

When its done, the Maka Pilikia is totally a part of the eye, aside from a discoloration there is no difference. In fact, it looks so natural no one from the outside notices a difference. But the user does.

It takes some time to get used to--like a few weeks or a month, varies from user to user. The user finds themselves able to see on spectrums they before would never have been able to. They see heat, infared, and ultraviolet, however they are blinded to the "visible" spectrum of light .The coolest thing is they can do this because of the warping in the composition of their rods and cones. The writer can write this however they want, but those at RMIA strongly encourage you to use this for some cool writing like seeing colors and stuff. Because that is just awesome.

All in all, its just a great way for your character to be able to see into other spectrums--or just a great excuse to have two different colored eyes.

I am mostly fine with this, but how is a force-dead biot capable of seeing force signatures?

Also, you should add an additional weakness that it can still be fooled by certain Force techniques that don't involve trying to manipulate the bug itself. The Disciples of Twilight for instance bend the light around them to avoid being seen, things like that.

"Still Vulnerable: Though this thing sees force signatures, that can be combated with the Art of Small. "

You forgot to remove it there, tag me once that is done and I will stamp this.
