BIOGRAPHY:
Mak Garr's life could not have started simpler. Born on Dantooine to a family of farmers and merchants, a young Mak would work with his herding livestock, tending to the family's large crop plots, and travelling to the cities with their landspeeders in order to sell in trade. His life was not one of unnecessary hardship, nor was it exactly blissful. But as a boy, Mak was content with it.

As a teen, he began to consider his future, and if he really was satisfied with being world-bound, where he would inherit his families assets and continue on as they'd done for generations. He could not have guessed that his fate had already been decided, by those who he had no way of knowing. One night, his and the surrounding settlements were set upon by off-world raiders, who sought to plunder the supplies and any valuables the families held in their possession. Possessing little in the way of defense save old blasters and electro-prods, his family was quickly overwhelmed. Mak himself was spared onlydue to the fact that he'd been away, dozing in the plains that bordered his home. He returned only in time to find the last of the flames dying down, and the bodies of both his parents among those strewn across the ground.

A grief-stricken Mak would later be found the next day by a unit of Antarian Rangers, who'd been chasing the raiders across the sector in an attempt to stop their rampage. Upon finding the freshly orphaned boy, and seeing nothing remained for him, the unit offered to take him in, as a refugee. He simply nodded, and went with them.

The events that'd taken place led to Mak talking little about his past with others, often times only saying he was "farm-raised". He was taken in by and raised by one of the Rangers, a man by the name of Jak Undu. He was a kind surrogate father, empathizing with the boy's loss while also trying to ensure that he wasn't consumed by grief nor anger. He taught him how to hold a blaster, how to hunt, how to read a map, and perhaps, most importantly, how to keep moving forward, no matter the obstacle.

When he was old enough, he chose to follow in his foster father's footsteps, and enlisted in the Antarian Rangers. Mak proved an adept trainee, his performance during skill and proficiency exams often times earning high marks. It was also here that he began to creep out of the shell that'd formed around him, becoming more social and open towards his comrades.

The next eight years saw him participate in operations across the galaxy, in both SJO and non-SJO space. He'd earn several commendations for his actions and valor in battles, his performance serving to see him rise through the ranks, eventually gaining his own command of a squad. During their existence, conducted several participated in several high risk missions, though they always seemed to pull through. Their luck however, was short lived, as in his ninth year, Mak's unit was wiped out in an effort to sabotage an enemy communication outpost. Again, Mak survived only due to the fact of being in the right place, at the right time; while his men sought to destroy the relays of the outpost, he infiltrated it to steal valuable information. His team was made, and the outpost was sent on high alert, leaving him little choice but to escape, information in hand.

Despite this loss, the information he provided proved critical in the battle to come, serving as a crucial aspect for their victory. For this, he was promoted to Second Lieutenant. However, Mak chose to take a leave of absence, in order to deal with the guilt he felt for what he saw as leaving good men to die.

Eventually, he was called back into service, his record making him a prime candidate for the Antarian Ranger Pathfinders, an elite special operations group within the organization. He was assigned command of a platoon of 15 men, to be organized into three-five man squads, and to conduct covert operations and missions across the galaxy. Mak accepted the role, on condition that he be allowed to personally lead one of the of squads himself.

The 3rd Pathfinder Platoon has operated for about a year since then, already ready having gained several missions under their belt.
