Main and alts

[Sempra the Hutt]

So, if I was to create an alternative character should I avoid having it close to my other characters?

My main - Sempra - is a leader of sorts and not always the best or IC appropriate to take part in dungeon crawls or the like, hence a second character could be interesting to have a more action oriented experience of chaos at times. Does it bother people if that alt would be a servant of my main character or is that common here? What does your experience tell you?

Just asking to avoid unecessary grudges down the road.

I don't see a problem with it. It makes sense for you to have an actiony alt for a Hutt.

A lot of people play their own siblings so it wouldn't be that different to play your own character's minion.

Basically anyone that runs a large company as more than a vanity project has at least one employee alt, or at least company-related -- that, or employing other people's characters. Your CEO can't be everywhere. So yeah, nothing wrong with it at all.

You may eventually want to create an alt that's totally different than either of them for reasons unrelated to rules. I find it fun to have characters who are radically different from one another.

It's totally cool. Go for it! Alts are awesome no matter how close, or how far, from your other characters they are.

This is just something I've stuck to with all of my characters. They never interact, and never meet.
