- Affiliation: Mahporeem Imperial Remnant.
- Classification: Planetary Defense Force.
- Description: Although the Mahporeem Imperial Army is responsible for planetary defense of Mahporeem, it is not the only organization active on the planet. The Mahporeem Militia is a localized planetary defense force that is made up of the men, women and aliens of the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant. Distrustful of their Imperial overlords, they have created their own militia force to help defend the planet should it ever come under attack.

- Unit Experience: Rabble.
- Equipment: The Mahporeem Militia utilizes a bewildering array of small arms and body armors, and has no standardized equipment amongst its members. Members of the militia are expected to bring and maintain their own equipment. Some of the equipment in use with the militia includes:
- Scavenged Droid Armor.
- Blasters.
- Slugthrowers.
- Improvised Explosive Devices.
- Melee Weapons.
- Booby Traps.
- Comlinks.
- Combat Function: As a planetary defense force, the Mahporeem Militia is the "last line of defense" should Mahporeem ever find itself under invasion. Members of the militia act as irregular infantry and guerrilla fighters, engaging in hit and run attacks and asymmetric warfare against any occupying forces. The Mahporeem Militia would also provide support to the Mahporeem Imperial Army in the event of a full scale planetary invasion.

- Anonymity: Because they lack any sort of standardized equipment or uniforms, it is incredibly difficult to identify members of the Mahporeem Militia when not engaged in combat.
- Paranoia: The fact that anyone could be a member of the Mahporeem Militia is sure to instill a sense of paranoia in any occupying force.
- Local: Few know the terrain of Mahporeem better than the locals that live there. Such skills are put to good use for the militia.
- Morale: Because they are fighting for their homeworld, members of the Mahporeem Militia tend to have high morale.
- Untrained: Due to the nature of the militia, most of its members have little to no training, especially when compared to the Mahporeem Imperial army.
- Nonstandard: Even by Mahporeem standards, the Mahporeem Militia suffers from a lack of proper resources, forcing its members to make due with what they have.
- Poor combatants: The Mahporeem Militia is unable to stand up toward properly trained and equipped military units, forcing them to engage in asymmetric warfare.
- Reprisals: Any acts of violence perpetrated by the Mahporeem Militia is likely to bring reprisals against the entire planet's population, regardless of their affiliation.
- Planetary: The Mahporeem Militia really only operates on Mahporeem. If they were to be sent to other planets, it would only be as an act of total desperation.
Following Mahporeem's victory against the Galactic Empire during the events of OPERATION: CINDER, the Imperial Remnant began the long and difficult task of rebuilding its shattered military machine. As they had played a pivotal role role in defeating the Empire, Mahporeem's many alien citizens were granted permission to officially join the Mahporeem Imperial Army, or MIA. These aliens would go on to create the modern military apparatus that persists to this day, and currently form a significant portion of Mahporeem's stormtroopers.
However, many aliens still remained distrustful of their Imperial overlords, as they remembered the oppression that they had suffered under the previous regime. As such, these aliens would go on to form the Mahporeem Militia, a planetary defense force charged with defending the planet from future invasions. Many humans were quick to join the militia as well, creating a secondary fighting force that would support Imperial Remnant troops against future invasions...or fight them, if needed.
Regardless, the Mahporeem Militia is just that, a militia. It is made entirely of volunteers and part time soldiers, nearly all of which have full time jobs that don't involve fighting. Militia members are responsible for bringing and maintaining their own equipment, and have little to no standardization among them. Some more enterprising members have scavenged suits of droid armor to protect themselves, though this improvised armor is often inferior to purpose built examples.
Nonetheless, the Mahporeem Militia stands ready to fight againt any potential invaders, much to the chagrin of the ruling Imperial Remnant. Though technically legal, Imperial opinion of the militia remains rather low, and the possibility for the government to take action against them is ever present, regardless of their perceived usefulness against invading forces and occupiers. Only time will tell if the militia persists, or if it disbands or gets absorbed into the "official" Imperial war machine...
