Mahporeem High Command
With the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant's promotion to Major Faction, the time has come to expand the way that Mahporeem's government works across the entire faction as a whole. No longer limited to ruling over a single planet, the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant has adapted to its new position by establishing Mahporeem High Command, the ruling entity over the entirety of the Imperial Remnant!
What is Mahporeem High Command?
Mahporeem High Command refers to both the IC ruling council that is response for running the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant on a daily basis and the OOC player characters that make it up. With Mahporeem's promotion to Major Faction, the previously established planetary triumvirate that was ruling over Mahporeem is no longer sufficient to be running the faction from both an IC and OOC perspective. As the faction continues to grow and expand, it is my intention to reward its players by allowing some of them leadership roles within the faction. This way, those who are a part of the faction will be able to have some agency in shaping it in the future.
What departments make up Mahporeem High Command?
To best ensure that the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant is running at maximum capacity, Mahporeem High Command contains a number of different departments that directly correlate to the way that the faction functions and is run. As of now, Mahporeem High Command consists of the following departments:
- High Commander: The High Commander is the overall head of Mahporeem High Command and the final authority on faction-wide strategy and decisions. They also are responsible for deciding how Mahporeem High Command gets funded.
- Grand Marshal: The Grand Marshall is in command of all Mahporeenian ground forces, including stormtrooper brigades, armored vehicle divisions and force user units. Anything that is incapable of leaving a planet's atmosphere falls under this category.
- Grand Admiral: The Grand Admiral is in command of all Mahporeenian naval forces, including starfighters, support vessels and capital ships. Anything that is capable of entering and exiting space falls under this category.
- Director of Intelligence: The Director of Intelligence is responsible Intelligence, espionage, reconnaissance and counterintelligence operations throughout the Imperial Remnant and across the galaxy.
- Minister of Industry and Salvage: The Minister of Industry and Salvage is in charge of maintaining the Imperial Remnant's economy, its relationship with various intergalactic corporations and developing new technologies for future use.
- Minister of Internal Affairs: The Minister of Internal Affairs is responsible for running the day to day operations of the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant, taking care of internal security matters and ensuring that the citizens of the Imperial Remnant are respecting Mahporeenian ideas and values.
- Minister of Foreign Affairs: The Minister of Foreign Affairs is responsible for maintaining diplomacy with various other factions throughout the galaxy, creating lasting alliances and overall good relations so that the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant is viewed positively
- Minister of Science and Bioengineering: The Minister of Science and Bioengineering is responsible for conducting scientific research and ensuring that the Imperial Remnant's cloning program remains operational at all times.
How does Mahporeem High Command function?
Generally speaking, department heads are left to function to their own devices. In keeping with the Imperial Remnant's idea of Meritocracy, those responsible for running their divisions are allowed to do so in a way that best enables them to serve Mahporeem. Division heads are permitted to hire whoever they feel will best assist them, being responsible for their employee, subordinates and potential successors. Ultimately, each division sets the rules and policies that it feels works best for it.
However, at the end of the day, each division head is ultimately subservient to the High Commander. The High Command has ultimate and final say on anything within the Imperial Remnant, and can overall any division head should he or she see fit to do so. The High Commander is responsible for deciding how funds are divided up between the various branches of Mahporeem High Command, meaning that any division that underperforms can reasonably expect to have its funding cut in retaliation. The High Commander can furthermore dismiss any department head and replace them, and has the authority to summon any and all department heads at a moment's notice.
Nonetheless, the High Commander must strike a balance with exerting his authority over his department heads and allowing them to do their jobs unimpeded. Too much micromanagement, and his division heads are unable to perform their duties effectively, while too little means that the division heads have too much free reign to do what they wish. It is a difficult position but one completely necessary for the continued success of the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant.
How do I join Mahporeem High Command?
The only way to become a part of Mahporeem High Command is to be invited into it. Division heads are permitted to choose their successors, subject to the High Commanders approval, or can be directly selected by the High Commander themself.
