SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Capacity: Each MagShot Carbine possess a 250 round magazine capacity, allowing the weapon to carry large amounts of ammunition in a quite compact package
  • Compact: Furthermore, the MagShot Carbine is quite lightweight and handy, and can be made even shorter by removing the weapon's stock
  • Decent range: For a weapon of its size, the MagShot Carbine possess a relatively long range, especially when fire in semi-automatic mode
  • Stealth: Because the MagShot Carbine can alter the velocity of its projectiles, it can be used for stealth operations, and can even be fired nearly silently
  • Inexpensive: For a Magrifle, the MagShot Carbine is quite easily and inexpensive to produce in relatively large numbers
  • Training: The MagShot Carbine has a secondary function as a training weapon, as its projectiles can be slowed enough to be nonlethal upon impact
WEAKNESSES
  • Weak: The MagShot Carbine is a low power weapon, requiring multiple shots on a target to inflict damage, especially when fired on its "stealth" setting
  • Awkward: The MagShot Carbine's weapon sights are offset to the side to incorporate the weapon's hopper magazine, making aiming down sights rather awkward
  • Slow loading: The weapon's hopper magazine can hold large quantities of ammunition but cannot be removed from the weapon itself, meaning the user must pour the weapon's projectiles into its magazine
  • Temperamental: The MagShot Carbine can malfunction if hit by ION or EMP pulses, rendering it much less effective than it otherwise would be
  • Revealed: The weapon's Electronic Sighting System can potentially reveal its user's position, especially in low light level conditions
DESCRIPTION

As effective a weapon as the EGR-16 has proved to be, its complexity and expense makes producing and using it in large numbers rather difficult for the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant. In response to this, the Imperial Remnant has developed a simpler, more accessible version of the weapon: the MagShot Carbine, a toned down but still quite capable Magrifle system.

Like the EGR-16, the MagShot Carbine also fires Mag-pellets at a high rate of fire, though the weapon lacks the homing ability of its predecessor. In exchange, the Magshot Carbine has a larger magazine of 250 rounds installed in a Hopper Feed System, removing the need to carry multiple sets of bulky magazines. Unfortunately, this does mean reloading the weapon tends to be slower than its predecessor, as the Hoppeer cannot be removed and must be filled with ammunition instead, although the Imperial Remnant does have containers that can do this fairly quickly.

Beyond that, the MagShot Carbine is also capable of altering the velocity of its projectiles, allowing it to engage in stealth operations, and can remove its stock to make the weapon even more handy in close quarters than it already is. An especially important feature of the weapon is its ability to be used as a training weapon, since its projectiles can be slowed to the point that they hit their targets non lethally, though still rather painfully! These particular weapons are available to essentially all branches of the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant, and are common sights among cadets and hardened veteran troopers alike.
