STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (Required: 2 Weaknesses Minimum) :

Umbaran Success Story: The Umbaran people have a strict caste system and in order to the clime the ladder you have to bribe, manipulate, and dominate to the top. Starting from a relatively low cast Mago worked his way up with his cunning and intelligence. This has led Mago to become a master manipulator and statesman.

Skilled Tactician: Before he became the pirate he is today he was the captain of an Umbaran planetary defense ship. His years attending Umbaran officer training and university and his years in the field built up enough experience to make him a skilled tactician when it came to fleet and ground combat.

Cybernetically Enhanced: Years of conflict has seen Mago replace many parts of himself with cybernetics either out of necessity to save his life or as a preemptive measure born from his own paranoia. This has led to him being immune to most poisons, toxins, and venoms due to some of his implants and his mechanical right arm is significantly stronger than the average human's arm.

Cybernetically Vulnerable: Unlike a regular organic, Mago can be hacked. His respiratory system is entirely dependent on technology and if someone managed to get close enough to hack him it could prove near fatal.

Lack of Personal Combat Training: What Mago makes up for in his tactical understanding he fails in personal combat mostly relying on his forces to protect him.

APPEARANCE:

Mago's straight posture and pale but piercing glare has garnered him a reputation of being intimidating to the weak willed and respectable to the strong. He usually is dressed in a fine blue suit tailored to not impair his cybernetic implants. Usually he can be found with a cane, a thick metallic rod which he has utilized as a weapon more than once and its rhythmic clicking against the floor is a signature of his that his crew has learned to respect.

BIOGRAPHY:

Mago Voss, not a name you would have expected to hear in pirate circles, especially when he was younger. He was born to well off parents who were relatively low on the totem pole of Umbaran society. 'Lack of Ambition' is usually how Mago would refer to them. He bit into Umbaran indoctrination hard and even at a young age he grew used to manipulating his classmates for his own gain. This loyalty to the culture that raised him and a few good cons saw him join the Officer's Academy at an early age where he would excel at his studies eventually serving on his first starship. His career in the military was no less advantageous than his school life. Blackmail an officer here, undermine the guy in front of him for the promotion, casually mess up another officer's assignment, these things he did casually and without remorse.

Most of his military life was fending off pirates from Umbara's off world mining operations and it shocked him just how low the bar was for the leadership of these 'fearsome' pirates. Rarely did they stand a chance against the Umbaran navy. Lack of training and an inability to get a decent ship made sure that they were always three steps behind. It eventually hit him, why should he slave away for others? The game he was playing was slow, too slow. It would take him decades to climb to the top of the Umbaran ladder, and now he knew a better way. Slowly over a year he would spread his vision among members of the crew he knew had a similar mindset and this scheming would ultimately culminate in the assassination of his captain, the seizing of the ship, and the abandonment of Umbara.

Very few of his original crew are still with him. Years of pirating has seen him gain a small amount of notoriety and a steady flow of eager skavvers looking to make some money at gunpoint and these would serve as the cattle to replace the Umbarans below him who might've been brave enough to try to take over his little operation. Yet Mago would hold these men to a high expectation of efficiency and order. Obey Mago's orders, don't try to hide anything away for yourself, and everyone will stay alive and get their cut. Eventually over the years he would craft his men into a militia following strict military hierarchy but not fueled by patriotism or honor but by greed and ambition, two things Mago understood very well.

ROLE-PLAYS:

"Have you ever seen animals fight in the wild? They don't usually go straight at it, posturing, threats,
intimidation, all come first. They both know violence is costly, neither wants to die
yet food, a mate, territory it all comes first. The underworld is just like that:
filled with scared skavvers threatening each other without the guts to actually pull the trigger.
I learned how to play that. Out intimidate, out posture, out threaten.
But most importantly, I learned when to pull the trigger"
