In the festering bowels of a backwater brothel, lost in the galaxy's darkest recesses, Magena was spat into the world with no joyous celebration to mark her birth.
Chapter I
Unceremoniously dropped into the lap of Randil Dray, a gruff local farmer whom her mother had had a dalliance with, he reluctantly acknowledged her as his own (despite considerable doubt due to Radana's known loose nature) after Radana insisted she was his and vanished, leaving her infant daughter to a life of uncertainty.
Growing up, her father's doubt over her parentage poisoned the relationship between father and daughter and Magena's childhood became a gauntlet of abuse, with Randil’s fists finding her more often than his kindness. Transitioning into a young woman, Magena became a troubled, snapping thing, finding herself on the wrong end of the tracks more often than not and having frequent run-ins with the local law enforcement.
She garnered a reputation for herself early on, one that followed her everywhere in the small farming village she grew up in. Folks often whispered "trouble" whenever she passed, but instead of fighting against it, Magena embraced the label, embracing it as a shield against the pain of her fractured life. She learned early on that being "trouble" was easier than trying to prove herself to people who'd already made up their minds on who she was. And thus wore it like a badge of honor, a middle finger to the world that never gave a damn about her to begin with.
