SPECIAL FEATURES
None
Strengths:
  • Very Strong Front Armor. It's main strength as that is what it'll be using for most of it's bashing of things
  • Good speed build up. Like any good device designed to slam itself into something else, it can pick up quite a bit of speed.
Weaknesses:
  • It's Joints. Most walkers have a weakness in regards to their joints, this one is no exception. Being one of it's more exposed areas they can be targets to disable it.
  • It's backside. Most of the highly thick and durable platings were used on the front end leaving the back more vulnerable. This is also a design choice to help release heat.
  • Slower turning speeds.
  • EMP conductivity. Due to it's emergency Electro Magnetic shieldin, the parts necessary for it are quite conductive to EMP and thus an emp blast can be used to quite a good effect on it.
  • Hard to stop. Both a benefit but also a weakness, once charging at a target the walker can be quite hard to be put down, doesn't matter if it's into landmines, friendly forces, whatever once it's on it's charge the actuators take time to slow down less they cause a lockup in the limbs.
DESCRIPTION
The MA-05 was designed to be a highly durable siege walker. Able to charge at high speeds to slam into anything that needs well battering. This armament comes from it's main cranial plate. This plate is very thick and is essentially the top of the walker's head. How it uses this is it's head is highly mobile and can be placed in a charging state so to allow for maximum damage. As well two additional weapons are on it, both being small blasters, on on the front on the front of the walker's face, and the other which is on it's back to allow for some type of coverage from behind. Both are fairly weak but are meant to give any type of protection in case of attacks from behind or battering program failures.

The Walker itself has no humanoid crew instead working on a droid AI much like the other spider droids, and walkers created by the Commerce Guild. The brains being tucked fare inside the walker's head. As for the power supply, it uses a tightly compact Chemical Generator. Now unlike the Spider walker's it isn't as easy to hit due to it being tucked inside the walker as well however to keep it so far in the back of the walker has less armor platings to allow for ventilation.

For mobility, the Walker uses electromechanical actuators at all joints to allow for free movement. However some of the joints have a bit more plating on them then the spider droids, thus making turning a bit slower for them. However when locked on a target, the Actuators can go into overdrive allowing the walker to run at a very fast pace, allowing for maximum smashing potential. Finally it also has an electromagnetic shield it can employ if in danger, however the shield itself drains the power supply very quickly and thus is set only to be used in case of an emergency.

For vision it uses a standard droid scanner, with additional interfaces for advanced and precise targeting for the most efficient head smashing of course. It does have some droid speech capabilities though this is mostly for ease in repairs and allowing other droids to have a frame of reference as to what is wrong with it, as it's main programming is that of war and smashing its face into everything

As well it should be noted since the walker's main job is to smash its face into things, constant maintenance of the frontal plates is required for maximum efficiency. Otherwise for the most part mechanically the walker is quite durable. It can be charged up through an external charging port on the underside of it's head.

<p>Hello, I'll be the factory judge reviewing your submission. If you have questions, please feel free to respond to this thread once we are underway.</p>

Hey there! After looking at this I would say it fits better in the Technology subforum as a droid. I would have to say this is a Class #4 droid .I've thought about this and I don't think it could really be a vehicle considering it has no passengers and just seems more like an awesome large battle droid. You could easily copy and paste 90% of what you have here and put it into the droid template, stick a new thread in technology and be good to go.

(Include some strengths and weaknesses here. Describe some of the history behind the submission. Give us some idea of how it might perform its function, what it excels against and what some limitations of it are. This is where you talk about your idea, flesh it out over at least a good-sized paragraph, and address some of the ways it might be used or abused. For especially powerful or ambitious submissions, a very thorough description is recommended.) All droid characters must be approved through the Factory if their droid models are not canon.

Do you agree? If so we can archive this and you would be free to resubmit this in the tech forum. Or do you have a strong case for vehicle? Or do you want to change this to have passengers? Up to you.

I can see where you coming from when I created it I had the idea in mine it would function in the same way other internal droid CIS vehicles did. Like the persuader class droid enforcer, or the original OG-9 spider droids or even the crab droid which wookiepedia has as a vehicle. However I do concede that this one in particular can seem like a class 4 droid at times the main reason i didn't just put it as a droid was due to its size. So I suppose I will post it wherever you all think is best for it.

You make a good argument as well. I think its a real gray area to be honest. I found two vehicles similar to yours about two years ago approved as such. Since you're here with the vehicle template I say we go ahead and judge it as one if you agree.

So I am not sure how you are seeing this could be a fast machine. Look at the OG-9 Spider Droid and how slow it moves. Pretty awesome firepower but not so good at walking. I know 70km but what is your definition of fast for your droid?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jH14qI8xcf4

Well the idea of it being fast most comes from the leg positioning. The OG-9 has those long spread legs which allow for better range and easier terrain management but not so much speed.

This model by contrast has close more bent legs and closer to the ground allowing for a fast pace to build up. It's hard to explain but because the amount of space needed to move a single leg is substantially less than the OG-9, allowing for more movements and as long as there is a fast moving actuator this could lead to a lot of leg movements allowing for fast movement. That's how I saw it at least as far as speed I always imagined it going around 120 kmh or somewhere in that ballpark which may not actually be in the fast category.

Makes sense, like some freaky horror movie creation. Before I can say pending approval, I would like you to add in another weakness. Personally I would go along the lines of EMP or remote hackers but its up to you.

After that I (hope) we'll be good to go.
