Description:
After the Ambassador revolver was issued, complaints quickly followed. Not of the actual weapon, much to Popo's relief, but of its use. Many individuals couldn't carry the bulky weapon in tight confines or that it was a heavy pistol, tacking on weight to the user's kit. Others simply couldn't fire the weapon without losing their grip or potentially breaking their wrist. In an answer to these issues, Tenloss Corporation issued a second pistol to the Republic military: the M837 Blaster Sidearm.
Light, compact, and easy to use and maintain, the M837 makes up for the Ambassador's brawn and sheer firepower with finesse, accuracy, and user friendliness. The M837 is fits in the hand easily and features and ergonomic grip, making extended use more comfortable. The pistol is light, making the weapon easy to maneuver in close confines or close quarters fighting, and is far lighter than the Ambassador, making it easy to carry into combat, missions, or confined spaces. The weapon is also highly accurate, able to accurately hit its target at 50m, though some experts have been reported to reach out to nearly the maximum effective range of the M837. The pistol features a fifty shot magazine with a five hundred shot gas canister, making the weapon ideal for extended engagements and use in the field. Also, the sidearm has proven highly effective in all walks of the Republic's military, ranging from use in space to starfighters to ground combat. All in all, it is an excellent alternative to the Ambassador Revolver.
The only real downside of the pistol aside from standard blaster weaknesses, is that it lacks the power of heavy pistols like the Ambassador, though the increased accuracy is believed to alleviate this, as the shooter can potentially place shots in the weak points of the enemy rather than bash through their target's armor and defenses.
