Strengths:
 • Zenith of Lethality: The Vee-Ex Nerve Gas grenades are second to nothing in their ability to inflict mass casualties with frightening efficiency. It is a tasteless and odourless chemical with an amber colour and the viscosity, texture of slump oil in its liquid form. A second of unprotected inhalation by an adult human male receives a sufficient dose of VX for symptoms to become immediately visible in the form of convulsions, severe nausea and emesis. These symptoms progress to paralysis, respiratory failure, unconsciousness and then death, this whole process takes between eighteen to forty-two seconds after initial exposure. Exposed individuals would need to vacate the contaminated area followed immediately by emergency medical treatment to survive. Ten micrograms of VX absorbed through skin contact is a sufficient dose for fatality without treatment, while it requires thirty milligrammes through inhalation over a one minute period in a three square meter area for the same result, the Grenade contains 300g dosage for increased efficiency to reduce this time to roughly forty-two seconds. The M1-VX makes it an ideal weapon even against Force users who will not escape its effects if they attempt to hold their breath, as the airborne vapour is also absorbed through skin contact.
 • Psychological Weapon: The mere threat of this weapon being used is enough to make even professionally trained soldiers collapse into fear and surrender, the weapon's lethality makes resistance a trivial and useless gesture without the appropriate equipment on hand to protect against it. Given it is also fatal on skin contact, a respirator isn't considered adequate protection. Even the thought the First Order possesses weapons of this magnitude is usually enough to deter any aggressor and personifies ruthlessness.
Weaknesses:
 • Droid Immunity: Droids do not have skin or organic organs to take advantage of and as a result, they are completely immune to the effects of the M1-VX Grenades although they might become a biological hazard to friendly organic forces after operating in an area contaminated by VX gas. This makes it pointless to use the grenades against a droid exclusive force.
 • Indiscriminate: Once deployed, VX gas does not discriminate between its' targets and can kill unshielded friendly forces. This is mitigated in the First Order through the employment of vacuum sealed armour with independent oxygen supplies and chemical warfare respirator helmet filters. Although, civilian and other unintended casualties can arise as a direct result of the weapon's use. The gas can also spread over a large area depending on local wind direction and climate.
DESCRIPTION

The M1-VX "Vee Ex" Grenades came about from cooperation between the First Order Science Division of Applied Science and the First Order Military with significant development being carried out by the Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation. To create an area denial weapon in addition to providing First Order combat troops with weapons featuring almost guaranteed lethality against hostile Infantry. The VX gas produced by this grenade attacks the nervous system, within seconds of exposure symptoms such as nausea and convulsions set in. Without immediate and emergency medical treatment paralysis, complete respiratory failure and death typically occur within eighteen to forty-two seconds. Their use is normally restricted to use on Unlawful Combatants such as Pirates, Criminals, Mercenaries, Smugglers, Private Military Contractors and Terrorists who are also unlikely to possess equipment capable of defending against it. The First Order Military issues these weapons exclusively to its combat personnel as needed or where the use of chemical warfare has not been explicitly prohibited by the local rules of engagement. The weapon is also a potent psychological tool, opposition forces are likely to surrender than face a gruesome death at the hands of chemical weapons and have Stormtroopers walk calmly over their cold dead bodies. The only effective protection against the VX gas is to be in an atmosphere or environment not contaminated by it such as a vacuum sealed bodysuit and hermetically sealed helmet with chemical warfare filters and/or a dedicated oxygen supply. The Grenades have two safety features firstly; A pin that needs to be removed with both hands and then a depression of lever to activate the fuse. The Gas itself is quite dense and so lingers at ground level in the area at which it is deployed to inflict maximum casualties instead of dispersing up into the Atmosphere. Because of its density, the gas drops down into tunnels, crawl spaces and trenches. Another notable quality is that when released in the atmosphere VX gas has the appearance of fog and so reduces battlefield visibility dramatically for those without electromagnetic vision channels such as infrared, near-infrared, ultraviolet etc.

Hi [member="FN-888"]! I will be reviewing this submission.

 • I'm not comfortable with a second of exposure being lethal. Either change this to something more vague such as several seconds, perform some bit of research/use development, or tone down the lethality to something more like temporarily paralysis, with prolonged exposure leading to death.
Everything else is fine.

I don't often issue warning with submissions, but be very careful with this. If someone starts using it as a form of weapon of mass destruction against Player Characters expect it to get reported and taken away.

Approved.
