SPECIAL FEATURES
  • 250 Mg Atropine
  • Springs
  • Syringe
  • Reinforced Duraplast Autoinjector Casing
  • Titanium Proboscis
Strengths:
  • Retrosynthesis Proof: The First Order Division of Applied Sciences foresaw that samples of the loaded autoinjector would be captured in the field or stolen by potential adversaries, so the First Order's skilled Chemists and Biologists ensured that the Nucleotide Synthesis of the M1-NR drug is heavily encoded making it nigh impossible to Retrosynthesise/Reverse Engineer from captured samples without significant amounts of First Order classified technical and research data.
  • Broad counter-nerve agent: The M1-NR Nerve Autoinjector is protection against any nerve agent it comes into contact with. Provided through intramuscular injection in the field and can be infused via Intravenous Injection. The drug works by decreasing the production of saliva and secretions within the airway to encourage breathing. It also stops muscular spasms in the organs, these uncontrollable spasms are what is responsible for the paralysis, respiratory failure and death that come with exposure to nerve agents. The Ironic thing about the drug is that it is a nerve agent itself, and is classified as an anticholinergic. This means that the drug blocks the neurotransmitter acetylcholine in the central and the peripheral nervous system. The drug inhibits parasympathetic nerve impulses by selectively blocking the binding of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine to its receptor in nerve cells. This being the neurotransmitter responsible for the uncontrollable muscular convulsions and spasming when exposed to nerve agents like the First Orders' infamous VX gas.
Weaknesses:
  • Debilitating Side Effects: As a nerve agent itself, M1-NR has a significant number of side effects that last throughout the agent's life cycle in the subject's nervous system. On the battlefield, these side effects make a Stormtrooper or First Order soldier combat ineffective and generally unable to care for themselves. Common Side effects include; Loss of Balance, Coordination Problems, nausea, dizziness, blurred vision, dry mouth, lack of Sweating, sensitivity to light, Hypersensitive reactions (Such as rashes or sunburn) and an elevated heartbeat. Side effects that arise out of overdose include; tremors, fatigue, dizziness, thirst, difficulty swallowing, heart palpitations and dilated pupils.
  • Typically cannot be self-administered: Given how quickly symptoms of nerve agent exposure appear in subjects who are unaware or not suspicious they have been exposed to a nerve agent such as VX. It is usually very difficult for a victim of a nerve agent attack to self-administer the autoinjector. For this reason, each First Order soldier or civilian in danger of being exposed to Nerve Agents are provided with three dosages of "Nerve" to offer sufficient supply for themselves and two other victims.
  • Doesn't protect against poison gas: The NR-series nerve agent only protects against other nerve agents and pesticides. It does not protect the subject from oxygen deprivation, vacuum or gases which are considered unbreathable/poison for the subject. For example; It does not protect against carbon dioxide, cyanide or sulphur mustard poisoning as examples.
DESCRIPTION
The M1-NR "Nerve" Autoinjector contains a Nerve Agent developed by the First Order Division of Applied Science in co-operation with the Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation. Its' development occured concurrently with the M1-VX "Vee Ex" nerve agent grenades. Protection from their own chemical weapons became necessary and as a precaution against exposure, the M1-NR Nerve Agent was developed to counteract not just the VX-Series nerve agent. But any nerve agent and most pesticides, so it is normally issued exclusively to the branches of the First Order Military and civil emergency responders who are at high risk of coming into contact with these substances. Civilian populations are only issued M1-NR if the First Order military or government believes the risk of exposure to these substances is unacceptable. For this purpose, the M1-NR Nerve Agent series is usually supplied through an intramuscular injection with the autoinjector. Which is as simple as removing the cap over the Autoinjectors "Mouth" which arms it and then pressing it firmly against the arm or thigh. The Syringe itself is constructed from tough metal and designed to punch through the bodysuit/armour weave of First Order Soldiers. The Autoinjector can also be used on a subject's heart directly for increased reaction time in subjects who have developed advanced symptoms of nerve agent exposure. The NR-series of Nerve Agent can also be provided intravenously although this method of treatment is seldom used as subjects cannot receive an adequate dosage through an intravenous injection to save somebody's life from a fatal dosage of nerve agents such as the VX-series. Every individual issued with the M1-NR Autoinjector is given three injectors, all disposed of after use.

SUBMISSION MODIFICATION RECORDS
  • 25/03/2019: Edited the Affiliations, Manufacturer and Designer to incorporate the Core Imperial Confederation and Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation. The Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation is now listed as being the intellectual property holder. Closed-Market is now specified and can be purchased ICly by Factions and Organisations through storywriting. Legal Status edited slightly. Updated to current Standard.

... Good solid science without a really exploitable loophole or flaw. Hats off to you sir, this is a nasty piece of work that does exactly what it needs to without going too far.

All I need to ask is that you change impossible to something less definitive. We don't really do 'impossible' here. But highly unlikely, extremely difficult, that works.
