Tractorbeam

Strengths: (Provide, in list format, a minimum of 1 strength of this submission.)

High output mining laser - the laser is an efficient way to cut apart those flying rocks full of metals. It's an easy way to line those pockets with credits.

Fast miner - is able to tear apart asteroids in quick time

Weaknesses: (Provide, in list format, a minimum of 1 weaknesses of this submission.)

Not a weapon - even if your reckless enough to attack a ship with this. By the time you cut a hole in the hull you'd probably be dead.

Speed penalty - while in use ship suffers -3 speed due to power usage.

Description: The M1-NAT Mining Laser is the new top line tool to be used amongst miners. The laser is easy to use and can be used in replacement of weapons on ships. Although they offer no offence or defence. Each cycle of 60 seconds the laser is able to mine 65m³ of metals but there is 15m³ wasted by mining the asteroids.

Unfortunately there is a downside to the laser. Because of it's high energy needs the ship cannot draw too much power to other systems that require a lot it's self. Thus the vessel using it would need to slow down. Even with this downside it also works in the favor the vessel. It will allow the laser to focus on a certain area with more accuracy from longer ranges. Be aware that a 1,000m can make a lot of difference.
