TECHNICAL INFORMATION

[*]Misc. Equipment:

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • N/A
Strengths:
  • Versatile. They have a diverse arsenal that allows them to tackle a lot of different combat scenarios.
  • Intelligent. The Y1 brain makes these guys smart and quick on their feet.
Weaknesses:
  • EMP/Ion. They are droids and are highly susceptible to ion and EMPs. Their ion buffers are only effective for small arms or glancing shots.
  • Fodder. These guys were made to be thrown into battle and deal a lot of damage, before being shredded. They have good defenses against environmental damage like radiation and the sort, but facing concentrated military opposition they will get wrecked without much trouble.
DESCRIPTION
With the expansion into space came the necessity to further expand Didact's other capabilities to keep the pace up. The M1 Battle Droid was the first foray into dedicated droid units for Didact Defense Solutions and the first droid to use the cutting-edge Y1 Droid Brain designed by Didact.

Tests concluded that the M1 outperformed the average battle droid available on the market by a factor three. Once it was pitted against non-military targets like pirates and outlaws that factor increased to five. That combined with its relatively cheap price to manufacture made Didact conclude that the M1 was a large success.

Already several nations were lining up to purchase a contract to field these droids to bolster their own organic armies.

The sale of these droids to other nations combined with fewer organic casualties in Didact's own roster ensured that the M1 was a highly profitable venture for the private military corporation. It paved the way for further development in droid units ready for combat and other pursuits.
