OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
- Intent: To add to a previous submission
- Image Source: Valve INC, Portal 2
- Canon Link: N/A
- Restricted Missions: N/A
- Primary Source: Based off of GLaDOS from Portal 2
- Manufacturer: IMF
- Model: N/A
- Affiliation: Natalie LaForte
- Modularity: Yes. - Personality modules
- Production: Unique
- Material: Durasteel, titanium plating, standard wiring for a computer
- Time for an upgrade - Has the capacity to hold up to at least 20 personality modules
- A unique solution - To avoid the issue of being potentially corrupted, only one of these droids has ever been produced. It can be detached from whatever facility it is currently in to be moved, although it requires the assistance of other droids/sentients.
- Puppet - The droid has no programming whatsoever and cannot function without being controlled by an AI.
- Central control computer
- Relatively durable - It has rather strong armour if for some reason the model is out in the open or exposed
- Upgradeable - This thing was essentially created to be upgraded for later adaptations.
- Control center - Lots of storage banks and processing power to ensure optimal efficiency for whatever is controlling it
- Defenseless - This model possesses no defenses and requires whatever facility it is currently housed in to defend it
- Power drain - Uses an enormous amount of power, requiring several generators to power the model
- Puppet - Literally serves no purpose except when being piloted by an AI.
- Setting up... - When being moved it could easily take days to re-install everything for it to be fully functioning once again
There really isn't much to say about the M-1 Mainframe Network Controller, other than it's a physical manifestation for an AI to control it. It requires enormous amounts of power to actually operate, given that it has massive storage banks and processors to be used. On top of that, it can also be upgraded with personality modules to expand its software capabilities, an example of this would be a firewall to offer protection against external slicers and hackers who would want to control such a valuable piece of equipment.
In saying that, it is literally defenseless, boasting nothing but a movable and retractable "head" which could in theory be used to bash enemies, but with such limited movement what is the point in doing so? Not to mention, it requires a dedicated power source and extensive set-up times to actually work.
NB: I didn't submit this as a droid because I don't really believe that it fulfills the role of a droid given that it needs to be controlled by an AI
