The closer he was drawn to her, the harder it was to fight against the loyalty that he held, his sole devotion to the Supreme Leader
slowly being broken and crumbling around him the days that they had spent together.
Ara had given him the breath of new life yet his attachment to her had become frustratingly clear the day of the battle over Bespin.
The moment that her breath had escaped those full and seductive lips, the seconds that had passed and he
had realized that his hand had dealt the killing blow taking from himself
the only person that truly meant something to that last fragment of personality and individualism; through bespin he
had learned to eradicate what little was left of his persona before the Order of Ren.
Through [member="Ara Zambrano"], across the days they had since been reunited,
he had learned that everything he had tried to deny in himself had been a lie.

It was ironic, the state that he found himself awakening to. This exact position mimicking the moment his second life had begun, though turning to cast his dark gaze across the room, he found that Ara Ren stood in a rather different state than he had expected to find her. The cream sheet draped around her body doing little to hide the curves of her form, the Knight of Ren pushing himself to sit up against the side of the less than satisfactory bunk to enjoy the moment, a slight tilt of his head and a rise to the corner of his mouth, a confident and smug smirk coming to life upon his face for all that she had brought upon him, that emotion she so seemed to try to incite within him coming to bare within the silent and private room that they had shared. The husk of a space-station, void of all other life and as dead as it had been left by the former Sith Empire, their personal getaway now from both friend and foe, theirs to make their own before they would later face down the consequences for Ara's actions by their superiors.

Habit saw to his want to point out that to be found in such a position would incite a great deal of repercussions as they were both Ren but she too the Queen of Panatha, yet it took only a moment for the haze of exhaustion to slowly descend and he to come out of his wary state to recognize the place for what it was, void of any connection to that of the First Order, save for their very presence there. There was a sense of treason in his being there, only due to his sense of duty to that of the Supreme Leader, formerly having refused to be anything but his loyal hand, a figurehead of power that would portray his dominion over all; this had however changed over the recent days, even leading up to his essence transfer for which had been forced upon him and now he seemed to have come to accept, perhaps more immediately distracted by the intimacy they had found in one another. Regardless, it was unavoidable, the acknowledgement that his life had once more become his own, his decisions and loyalties, his own to control and decide for himself.

"..." words initially failed to find him, silence followed her greeting him back into the living world as though this new dynamic had changed everything. To understand Brennan Cabrol was to understand the mind of a child who had grown up to believe in only the commands of a father, enforced through violence and isolated feelings never to be heard by those around him. These emotions were all so difficult to comprehend, this new body and the Force that flowed through him, even the power of the Darkside in all it's renewed strength hindered no longer by the former cybernetic emplacements was a feeling of respite from the life that he had come to own.

"You should have woken me..." he finally spoke up, finding only sense in his wish to avoid any such vulnerabilities, to continue to be the sword for which she would carry at her side and strike down those that would oppose her right across that of the Pacanth Expanse. This was his cause, when they were away from the Bastion of Ren and on their own without the higher priorities of the First Order.
