SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Shatter Gun: The Stormwrath is a near copy of the Verpine Shatter Gun, using advanced magnetic field technology and variable size bores to rapidly accelerate projectiles at high velocities while still remaining near silent. The main difference with the Stormwrath is that it has been heavily ruggerized in a shock-absorbing frame thanks to the use of condensed-matter composite inserts and permex furniture to make it less delicate. Additionally, the weapon has a selector switch which allows the user access to different firing modes. Typical ammunition are small metallic pellets or small caliber handgun bullets.
  • Variable Ammunition: Unlike many standard shatter guns, the Stormwrath features multicaliber magazine and bore as standard. This allows the Stormwrath to accept a variety of different ammunition types and calibers up to 2 centimeters in diameter. Obviously, larger projectiles take up less space than smaller ones in the weapon's grip magazine, but it does provide the user with a wide variety of options that wouldn't otherwise be available for most handguns. Some options found in use include simple explosive slugs, flechettes, shock bolts, exotic magma pebbles, flash quarrels, and tranq slugs.
  • Variable Fire Modes: While the Stormwrath can be used as a basic verpine shatter gun, this pistol can alter the charging cycle and projectile feed rate to get different effects. The Stormwrath act like a small scattergun or shotgun by using its multicaliber magazine and bore to hold and simultaneously fire a dozen pistol rounds. It can also act as a mini machine gun, by cycling more shots at a faster rate with less power and range.
  • Picatinny Rail: The Stormwrath does have a Picatinny rail on its frame beneath the barrel, which allows it to use a variety of over the counter weapon's attachments such as targeting lasers, tactical lights, grappling spike launchers, and secondary weapons like small underbarrel grenade launchers.
STRENGTHS
  • Versatile Weapon: The Stormwrath can alter the intake of its ammunition and its charging cycle to allow it to be used in different weapon roles, making it a versatile weapon.
  • Excellent Stopping Power (scattergun mode): The Stormwrath fires 12 pistol-sized rounds simultaneously. If most of these rounds hit the target, the effect can be devastating - it's typically enough to outright kill most unarmored humanoids.
WEAKNESSES
  • Hefty Weapon: The Stormwrath is large and heavy weapon for a pistol, making it less convenient to carry around compared to most pistols, yet it doesn't have the high performance associated with carbines and larger weapons.
  • Short-range (scattergun mode): In scattergun mode, the Stormwrath isn't able to accelerate its projectiles to their full velocity, leading to a reduced range that's typically in the dozens of meters in terms of practical effectiveness.
DESCRIPTION
Shatter guns have long enjoyed a degree of popularity among those looking for exceptionally powerful but silent weapons. When the Roche Asteroid Belt fell to the Bryn'adul invaders, most Verpine manufacturers of the weapons ceased production or had to build new facilities out of the system in safe space. At that time, Lucerne Personal Defense stepped in to fill the demand for these weapons with their own derivative design - the Stormwrath Shatter Pistol. While not as powerful or with as great of ammunition capacity as the most advanced shatter pistols already on the market, the Stormwrath's design tends to emphasize traditional company values of durability and versatility. To that end, the delicate electronics of the shatter gun are encased in a thick, shock absorbing receiver. Perhaps more significantly, the weapons do come with multi-caliber bores and magazines as standard, as well as selector switch which allows the users to choose between typical semi-automatic mode, scattergun mode, and a fully automatic rapid fire mode. This can provide users with a wealth of options, from firing a spray of shock bolts to quickly knockout dangerous fauna to rapidly discharging explosive slugs to take out multiple armored targets.

The Stormwrath hasn't reached the popularity of other shatterguns among so-called independent operators - likely because it doesn't quite have the power or ammunition capacitiy of some traditional designs - but it has gained significantly more traction in the military and exploration sectors on account of its durability and versatility. The company's close ties with the Silver Jedi Concord have meant that the weapon sees some service with the Forces of the Concord Guard and local defense forces, though perhaps the best known users within the Concord are the Mandalorian Covenant.
