SPECIAL FEATURES
- Maser Weapon: Like the famed Chiss charrics, the ParticleJet is a maser weapon, meaning that its blue bolts deal both kinetic and energy damage. Upon a bolt's contact with metal-based armor, the armorer's wearer may also get an electric shock.
- Variable Fire Modes: While the ParticleJet can be used as a basic maser weapon pistol, like the company's Dartfire Pistol, this weapon can alter its power cycling and discharge rate to get different effects. The ParticleJet can produce bigger and more damaging bolts at the cost of greater ammunition consumption and higher recoil, which effectively provides it with almost disruptor-like effects. It can also act as a pulse weapon, not unlike a traditional laser, by consistently emitting more energy at a lower power level.
- Stun Setting: Like some other maser weapons, does have a stun setting in all of its fire modes where the energy portion of the discharge is replaced by a green, EM-charge tuned to neurological pattern. It still impacts some kinetic in this mode, which can result in physical trauma, especially in supercharged mode.
- Compact: The ParticleJet is designed specifically for compactness in order to be easily fitted into a gauntlet, which does not much room for its operating system. Combined with a small ammunition capacity, it is quite light and compact, making it easy for the wearer to move his or her arms, as well as making it simple to conceal or integrate into personal armors, droid limbs, or attach as an underbarrel weapon.
- Modular Trigger system: ParticleJet by default has a trigger that's activated by pulling a ring that's worn on a finger, convenient for use in its gauntlet or underbarrel weapon form. However, it does have a space specifically set up within the body of the gauntlet itself to allow it to be integrated with an electronic trigger for use in battle armors or droids.
- Dual Damage Types (Energy & Kinetic): Like most maser weapons, the ParticleJet deals both kinetic and energy damage against its targets, making it particularly useful against foes who prefer specific types of defenses or who wield lightsabers.
- High Stopping Power(Supercharged Mode): In supercharged mode, ParticleJet discharges a massive bolt with the power output comparable to that of a conventional disruptor. While targets aren't disintegrated entirely like a disruptor, the high amount of kinetic energy in this bolt often knocks back human-sized targets, often causing them to stagger or fall back under the impact.
- Short Range: Like most maser weapons, the ParticleJet has a shorter range than conventional blasters of similar size, being around two dozen meters in most instances.
- Low Ammunition Capacity (Supercharged mode): As a relatively small weapon, the ParticleJet has a relatively small ammunition capacity to match it, being slightly less than that of a typical blaster pistol.
The Bryn'adul threat spun Lucerne Personal Defense's research department into a flurry of activity, spawning numerous projects and the recruitment of new personnel, including a mandalorian refugee from Clan Deshra escaping the Sith Empire's purge of his people. After producing both the IceJet and FireJet, he turned his attention to producing another similarly compact weapon but more conventional weapon: a miniaturized maser. This project was more personal to the man, as he viewed it as a possible weapon to level his people's playing field against the lightsaber-wielding Sith - unlike blaster weapons, the bolt of a maser produces enough kinetic impact against a lightsaber blade that it can knock the sword from the wielder's hand.
Taking a page from the company's own DartFire blaster pistol, he incorporated a variety of firing modes into the weapon based on how it transmitted energy. Unsurprisingly, in its default setting the ParticleJet fires just like a normal gun, making it roughly comparable to a blaster pistol. However, in a supercharged mode, the ParticleJet fires a significantly more powerful bolt through the sheer force of the energy channeled into the bolt. Not only does this highly energized bolt produce far more damage than a weapon normally does for its size, but the kinetic force behind the bolt is exceedingly strong - meeting the creator's intent to 'punch like an enraged Wookiee', making it exceptional useful in beating back lightsaber blades or entirely wrenching the weapon's from user's hands if they prefer the delicate, light grip often used in 'soft' styles like Makashi. As another alternative, the mandalorian design included a pulsed stream setting, where the weapon can send out a steady stream of maser energy for about six seconds, again with an eye towards keeping lightsaber wielder's off-kilter when facing the user.
While not thrilled by the establishment of design specifically designed for use against lightsaber wielders given the company's close relationship with the Silver Jedi, Tresk E'kala approved the design for mass production, realizing that while the Bryn'adul were currently the greatest threat, it would not be long before the Sith Empire or some other darkside-oriented threat would pose a threat to the collective well-being of the galaxy. The ParticleJet is somewhat unusual in recent LPD catalogues in that much of its marketing currently is towards Mandalorian refugees (per the designer's wishes) and others who may want to take the fight to the Sith Empire. While intended to be placed in the gauntlet of a traditional mandalorian suit of battle armor, it can also be attached as an underbarrel weapon on rifle-like weapons or added as an onboard droid weapon.
