Description: Upon realizing that not every enemy can be engaged at close range, it was decided that a new design intended to pelt enemies from long range was necessary, based on the Rasta Sub. The forward section of the ship has two turrets, the triple Scarif heavy long-range ion cannon turret and, closer to the superstructure, the terrifying new weapon which makes its debut on the Lothal, based on the Lusankya. Aft of the superstructure are two additional hardpoints: a 380mm hypervelocity cannon and a triple Toprawa heavy long-range turbolaser turret for additional long-range firepower. The Lothal can deploy a devastating broadside port or starboard since all four turrets can fire on roughly 300-330-degree arcs (they can fire on targets along any horizontal direction if the elevation is greater than +10-15 degrees).
To round out the weapons suite is a battery of light MIRV launchers, outfitted with a stealth cluster warhead capable of being fired at long range. The light version of the MIRVs allow the launchers installed onboard to fire cloaked buses at long range, each of which unleash seven standard capital-grade proton torpedoes at standard capital-grade proton torpedo ranges. Individually these launchers are worth 3 heavy launchers apiece, for a total of 5 tubes. As with all ships with a main battery fully designed for long-range combat, however, they are vulnerable to ships coming in at short range. Lothals come equipped with two main engines and four secondary engines on their wings, which each play host to a hangar capable of hosting 1 squadron of attack craft apiece. Due to the slow traverse and elevation speeds of the turrets of its main battery, a pack of fast corvettes with anti-capital ship capabilities can easily evade the main battery, so a Lothal must be escorted by other ships capable of dealing with anti-capital ship corvettes at close range for escorts.
