Lothal Clash

[member="AmyIsabellaJarrus"] Feel free to jump in. Perhaps caught in the crossfire?
Then again you could see how terrible the oppression of the Jedi is and be convinced to join the Knights of Ren.
im unsure what that is atm. ^^;

Ok, so my plague combined with finals week has (of course) kicked my ass more than expected. My plans to join the thread this weekend were thwarted.

However, I have not forgotten about this. I'm still fixing to join, and if there are any Jedi who would like to duel me, please say so.

I'm a tinge disappointed that this "not a skirmish" thread started with a shoot on sight order, to be honest. Was hoping for more story and less pew pew flamethrower pew. :/

But it is what it is and I will do my best to enjoy it. Helps out the story Roshki and I are developing.

Well that was to add fluff to "secret mission". Honestly, I expected to get to the ruins, do some actual lore building of Lothal and the Ren's hunt for forcer relics. But instead everyone somehow "sensed" we were around and now we are getting jumped.

So it goes both ways.

Just gotta roll with it. My plan is to drag this fight to the ruins I intended to bring the White Wolves to and we can go from there. Its how it goes in RPs peeps do what peeps are interested in :).

^ Aye. I was expecting some lore stuff too...a little bit of defiling ruins, burning down old Jedi memories and the like...but yeah we had everyone suddenly jump on us like a pack of wolves. We just wanted to go site seeing :(

Yes for now, We push through the hail of blaster fire. Make way to the ruins [member="Belis Ren"] mentioned were Northwest of us, ignore Lothal City, its not our target. Let them chase us. Do our job quick and then scram. We can have some real PvP on our way to LZ. And by PvP I mean actual written out duels of wills and soul. If you're going to fight someone at least add some story flavor into it :).

You did land not far from a major city. You also instigated the KOS before anyone was even near you, they'd only acknowledged your presence, and that, subsequently, ruled out anything other than combat since you started shooting as soon as you saw us. Barrien is not combat first, questions second. He would have wanted to talk, but that was ruled out.

Acknowledging your presence isn't the same as jumping you. From what I saw, you all shot first. Just for future reference. Some of us write Jedi that are more diplomatic than others.

"Approaching from the darkside of the planet the shuttles touched down on an open savanna and quickly the White Wolves and 3rd poured out establishing a defensive perimeter."

"Down below the scanned terrain revealed bumps and areas of interest to the operator of the surveillance orb. Projected in a holographic glow above a hand held projection device he turned to face Ricochet who had departed first and was watching the kneeling defensive stormtroopers. "All clear Mam. Visual scans negative." The surveillance trooper called out."

I made no such mention of being near a city in any of my posts. I made it quite clear that we landed on the darkside of the planet in a barren savanna wastleland. The orb part was to re-enforce that fact. There was NO positive visual scan. We were alone.

And yes "we" shot first. Patriot shot first. She's the Han Solo of my legion. But, I can't control what my faction members do. This is their thread as much as mine.

In fact if I recall correctly - people "sensed" a disturbance - even though no action by us would warrant a dark ripple in the force. . And thats ok, I do that to when Im a force-user - its a thing force users do. I've done it hundred times with Hauntruss.

And on swoops you dashed onto our exact location. And my friends here decided it was good enough to start a firefight. It happens. Yah my "kill on sight" was much - but that is their protocol for a mission designed to not have any evidence of their presence. It was to establish our aesthetic as a brutal military force. A recon-in-force.

And as long as we are critiquing people's movements:

Knowing what I have described things like:

doing a quick search for chatter over the Holonet
-When there is no electronical outpost to feed info from.

and she studied the sky as if searching for the familiar black dots of dropships before standing

-When only ONE ship landed and it landed on the darkside of the planet - in a barren savanna as established in my post

Just to be clear, not taking a dig at you guys - although saying this always comes wrong lol - but yah. I tried my best. I made it very clear in my posts. I did everything in set up to suggest that White Wolves were on their way to ruins FIRST to do some studying and then if we get caught along the way we were ready for a fire fight.

And you know what thats on me - thats my bad - I did not RP that out clearly enough. But, yah, this is what I mean - when I feel jumped. But, Im a flexible dude. I'll roll with it. We do this the hard way hahaha. And thats fine too. This makes things exciting eh? Anyways, blergh - apologies if this came out as a rant. Just wanted to explain myself.

The KOS was the problem. I understand why you issued it (I have three Imperial characters, I get it), it probably wasn't a good idea in a thread that isn't meant to be a skirmish. Barrien is a diplomatic sort. He carries a lot of weapons, yes, but he prefers to talk first and he was assuming you were TGE, which you could have played out. But when you all started shooting at the people on swoops who were leaving the city it kind of rolled into a skirmish almost instantly.

I'm just saying all of this for future reference. I genuinely wanted to have Barrien talk with you all first. I was looking forward to that kind of thread, where talks may have broken down and a few small fights broke out rather than people outflanking me in their first post in the thread.

A smaller force means less chance of being found out. And less chance of a non-skirmish turning into a skirmish.

Yah and I am disappointed about that too. I wanted to do some battle of ideologies. :)

Also I got sick halfway through the thread - I did mention in this thread to pause everything until I returned so I can dictate engagements better. But, I guess no one saw it and just moved straight into a firefight. It happens. The thread will be a bit skirmishy - honestly I think it was already skirmishy because everyone was using the Location, Objective, Foes and Allies header used for Invasions and Skirmishes. That is always a rather telling sign :/

Perhaps some other time, we can engineer a battle of ideas and a duel of words.

(Also never introduced the city, it was introduced by others - its ok - peeps introduce themselves in threads as they like.)

Yeah, some of us just started in the city as it was a good location. I didn't expect you were so close until Patriot started shooting at the GA duo who was leaving the city on swoops. I expected to be driving for a while.

I don't think next time will be much different, though, lol. You've kind of forced a target on your heads now. Diplomacy now becomes asking for your surrender or capturing you in the eyes of Barrien and most Jedi. :p

It is what it is. I just wanted to make sure you understood that shooting first and asking questions later isn't a good way to start a thread that isn't supposed to be a full on skirmish. Far too trigger happy, you are. :)

hahaha, well I intended there to be clash anyways - but I wanted it to be structured and follow an internal plot. Instead of a skirmish which is a straight brawl. I was trying to build a narrative to the combat.

But as all RPs go - You can plan, Others will Dispense. Just have to roll with it. But, that doesn't mean we can change this into a new narrative. I like this "surrounded on all sides" characteristic, it fits White Wolves' diehard vangaurd style. Besides, no one said we can't do deep heated debates while we fight. I do it all the time.

If you want have Barrien come straight at Ricochet, she is an Imperial hardliner - Id love to throw down and also exchanged heated words of battle too. :)

He's a little preoccupied with keeping himself and Roshki alive. Charging right at you all would be counterproductive since Roshki is injured. :p

We will see what happens. You may have an opportunity if we make it to cover.

[member="Barrien Siegfried"] Offer to surrender and the troopers will not shoot. They will want to take you to one of the Ren, the Ren will want to try and be all 'Join the Darkside'...They are like that.

There is a way out and a chance for some diplomacy. :D

Guys just roll with it and role-play the action and reaction out IC. :) Even the best military plans go awry sometimes, well more than not actually. :p It's why we have to all be flexible for a good story. And this, could be really good just saying. ;)
