OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
SETTING INFORMATION
  • Structure Name: Lortho's Palace
  • Classification: Casino/Hutt Palace
  • Location: Nar Shaddaa
  • Affiliation: Lortho the Hutt, The Hutt Republic
  • Accessibility: The massive casino and hotel portions of the Palace are fully accessible to the public, though certain VIP sections are reserved for the rich and affluent. The upper levels of the building are reserved as Lortho's personal palace, where his living quarters, great hall and other various rooms and chambers are located.
  • Description: A massive skyscraper and presently the tallest and most extravagant looking building on Nar Shaddaa, it towers so large as to reach into the atmosphere itself. Various neon and holographic advertisements for both the casino and it's corporate sponsors are adorned up and down the length and width of the massive building.
POINTS OF INTEREST
  • Casino: The main public attraction of Lortho's Palace, there are hundreds of vast floors in the tower devoted to gambling, entertainment and other amusements and luxuries, every floor is a testament to vice and greed.
  • Hotel: Hundreds more levels are filled with luxurious hotel rooms and suites, with various tiers of luxury dependent on how much one is able to afford.
  • Lortho's Palace: A large number of the tower's upper levels are solely devoted to the needs and whims of it's owner, Lortho the Hutt. A vast throne room, great hall, numerous private quarters and guest rooms, as well as various other chambers and rooms, fill much of this assigned space.
  • Staff Area: Several dozen floors have been set aside to house the Casino's staff and indentured servants, containing personal quarters, bunkhouses, kitchens and mess halls, as well as other off-duty recreational facilities.
  • Subterranean Vault: Secure in the deepest underground levels of the tower is an immense, high security vault containing a large chunk of Lortho's immense material wealth. Vast hoards of credits, precious metal ingots, gemstones and other valuables lay secured safely within, away from thieving hands.
  • Spaceport: At the highest levels of the tower which pierce through the atmosphere is a spaceport dedicated to housing Lortho's collection of starships as well as providing an anchorage for his Kajidic's fleet, where vessels can be repaired, refitted and refueled in a secure location.

SECURITY
Maximum: Lortho has wasted no expense in insuring the security of his palace. Even the publicly accessible areas possess top of the line security features such as cameras, security fields and a professional security force of loyal mercenaries and battle droids. The subterranean vault is nigh impregnable, reinforced with durasteel alloy and a beskar vault door, as well as forcefield generators. There are also turbolaser emplacements built into the top level spaceport to ensure it is well defended against piracy.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Built to shame his rivals and inflate his own sense of self importance, Lortho envisioned and designed a monolithic, extravagant tower reaching up into Nar Shaddaa's atmosphere and dwarfing all that lay below it. Taking inspiration from similar architectural marvels built on Zakuul by the Eternal Empire of old, Lortho hired Zakuulan architects to aid him in the design and construction of his new palace. The construction of such an architectural feat would take a generation, but such a period of time meant nothing to a long lived being like a Hutt, and Lortho was more than patient.

Over the decades, this grand structure rose and rose into the skies of Nar Shaddaa, and despite several invasions and other setbacks, construction continued, legions of indentured laborers and construction droids used to complete the vast amount of and often dangerous levels of work necessary to pull off such a mechanical marvel. Finally, after almost a hundred years of work, in 867 ABY, construction has been completed, and the doors of Lortho's masterpiece have been opened to the public.
