Lord Aery

NAME: Lord Aery – Avery Fie-Sha

FACTION: Sith Empire

RANK: Sith Lord / System Governor of the Sinderon System.

SPECIES: Human

AGE: Appears in his early twenties.

SEX: Male.

HEIGHT: 5’9.

WEIGHT: 168lbs.

EYES: Yellow.

HAIR: Somewhat long, flowing blonde locks. At least one dangles in front of his face.

SKIN: White.

FORCE SENSITIVE: Yes.

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:

+ Driven: When Aery puts his mind to something, he will pursue it until he feels he has tapped its potential to the fullest.

+ Mysteries of the Force: Aery knows full well he is unsuited to lightsaber combat, and his natural thirst for knowledge brings him to but one conclusion; if he cannot excel in one area, he must in another. Aery has delved in to the mysteries of the force, and he’s dug deep. He has a wide variety in skills, two of his most favourites being Levitation and being able to shield his force powers from others.

+ Affable: He is capable of hiding both his dark side corruption and his overall force presence. He acts rather diplomatic, and it could be hard to believe he’s even that much of a threat in combat. Although he can make his eyes look like their natural blue (and will often do so when outside of the Empire), he keeps them yellow to remind those beneath him that he is, in fact, Sith.

-+ Force-Reliant: Though Avery has deep knowledge and power in the force, capable of plunging ranks upon ranks of regular soldiers into chaos with abilities from Force Lightning to simple telekinesis, he is less capable in matters of LIghtsaber combat. He is at least decent in the fourth form of Niman, combining it with his force powers to make him an infuriating opponent to deal with, however, he simply cannot deal with more than a few people at a time in this manner. It is entirely possible that even a Padawan or Acolyte could give him serious trouble in numbers, let alone Knights and other Sith Lords. He may cheat by using the force to move his lightsaber in a blade ward. He seeks to find more lightsabers to test his skills with it.

- Unambitious: Lord Aery, contrary to the Sith teachings, does not covet the positions of those above him, in fact, he’d rather stay as he is. That, of course, means he doesn’t benefit from the drive he may get from competing with others. Furthermore, this could be seen as a weakness to the Sith, and thus pick him as a target to take HIS position.

- Flustered: Avery in his element when stress is built up. If he’s taken by surprise, he can easily lose his nerve and panic until he finds it again. For this reason, he prefers ranged combat and doesn’t particularly do well when being ambushed in close-quarters.

- Empathetic: He is a bit too caring for a Sith, perhaps due to his delving into both the Light Side as well as the Dark, however he is capable of more empathy than dark practitioners should be. Perhaps he’s taken the ‘there is only passion’ part a bit too seriously. He cares, he pities, he’ll do what he can for those he likes and requires it. This does not mean he will show mercy to a condemned man or woman, or to stall his research.

APPEARANCE:

Lord Aery doesn’t look particularly imposing. He stands at 5’9ft, and weights around one hundred and seventy pounds, give or take. At first glance it can be hard to identify him as a male, he has a rather androgynous face, somewhat soft features with long, flowing blonde hair. His nose is slightly upturned and he has straight eyebrows. Of course, his visage isn’t perfect. He has heavy eye bags, signifying his lack of sleep, perhaps due to insomnia, perhaps something else. He has startling yellow eyes at the best of times, though he is capable of hiding it.

For clothes, he tends to wear a seemingly simple black robe, with a wide hood and long sleeves. Underneath that he wears a light fiber mesh chest piece underneath which is capable of deflecting light blaster fire, but not for more than a couple of hits in the same spot. Below, he makes use of light trousers and military grade boots. He does not often deviate from this clothing scheme unless the situation calls for it.

BIOGRAPHY:

-Avery Fie-Sha was born an unspecified number of years ago to the system’s governor, Han Fie-Shan. He was found to have Force Powers. When he came of age the Jedi came for him, and he was taken away.

-He wasn’t particularly the best youngling or padawan one could ask for. His lightsaber ability was lacklustre, even while training under some of the more proficient tutors. The closest he came to being ‘okay’ at was Makashi and most of all Niman. He was often known as the ‘runt’ of the litter at the time. Indeed, if it weren’t for the strength of his force powers, he would have been destined to the Jedi Service Corps or agriculture.

-Within the chambers and the library he dwelt, he spent his free time tampering and experimenting with the force. He began to outstrip those around him in knowledge of the force, even as they defeated him in melee combat.

-During an archaeological dig, he found a holocron. Rather than bring it to the attention of the Jedi Master they were following, he had the bright idea to peep at it himself first. This was not a good idea. His mind was assaulted by dark knowledge of a force practitioner long past. When at last the flow stopped, he quickly turned it off with a frightened mind, and gave it to the Master with him none the wiser except noting his fear, and his own realisation that he had been holding a Dark Holocron, perhaps that of a Sith.

-Avery had horrible nightmares, and he had gained a taste of the dark side, he experimented well into the night, eschewing sleep. When he emerged from his room, he had realised what a blunder he had made when he looked into the mirror. His eyes had turned from blue to a terrible shade of yellow.

-In fear for what people may think of him, he covered his eyes and tried to flee the Order. Of course, some noticed his sudden departure. Especially those who often teased him for his lack of martial prowess. And so it was they followed him, and confronted the young Avery. He refused to return, and when they slapped off the coverings against his eyes, they beheld his newfound colour. They opted to bring him in through force, not having a voice of reason present. Avery had a different kind of force to rely on. While they moved to ignite their lightsabres, he released a powerful force push, and threw them against the wall of the shuttle, breaking bones and rendering them unconscious. Before the ship launched, he threw them out.

-Returning to his homeworld, Avery had found that his father had been ousted by another, somewhat less competent (which was impressive, given even Avery in his own youth had recognised his father wasn’t particularly suited to lead), and he returned to his ancestral home, and took up exploring the dark side while becoming a politician.

-For years he grew his power base while evading the prying eyes of the Jedi who were most put out; more from attacking his fellow younglings than from actually leaving. And falling to the Dark Side, according to them. Maybe he had by then, but now he was something else entirely. He had created his own chambers deep beneath the ground to do his dark deeds, he grew older, far older than he should have. Those around him attributed it to stress, but he knew there was a price for power.

-On the eve of one election, he had finally found it. The cure to his ailment, through dark practices he was able to reverse his condition (or perhaps hide it). Unfortunately, he also found he had lost the election on the very same night. He feigned his death, attributing it to a heart attack, and became his own successor, younger and stronger. He assumed the name of Aery.

-More years passed, and he finally became the system’s governor. It was mostly independent, with Sinderon III being a generator planet, and Sinderon IV being a mixture of agricultural and metropolis. And then, within a year of his administration, the Sith Empire arrived and decided to annex the system. Aery, having the blessing of common sense, took one look at the array of battleships above his planet and promptly surrendered, negotiating that he could still keep his position as the system’s governor.

-Aery, being a practitioner of the Dark Side, decided to explore the Sith tradition, leaving someone he could trust in charge. He learned their ways, studied their acolytes, though at a distance as he preferred to keep his force sensitivity to himself. He humbled himself a fair few times to achieve this.

-He returned to finding a Sith Lord by the name of Maurn who decided to take control of his planets, having killed the one he left for insubordination. Sadly, they both had a disagreement over who should continue ruling or governing the system, and Lord Maurn was found having committed suicide by turning himself into a crushed cube of flesh and bone. He sent the former Sith Lord back to wherever he came from in a box with an apology and a request to be given his rank so there’d be no further un-pleasantries.

EQUIPMENT:

Youngling’s Lightsaber: In his flight from the Jedi Temple, he had thrown all of his meagre belongings together, including his old lightsaber from the Jedi Temple. It currently sits on a mantelpiece in his residence. He has since taken the kyber crystal from within to be used for another lightsaber that doesn’t quite have the same lowered power setting.

Personal Lightsaber: At some point during his travels while campaigning, or perhaps in one of his daily trips into Dark Side research, he cannibalised his old youngling’s lightsaber into a new one with a custom curved hilt. It is coloured yellow.

Lord Maurn’s Lightsaber: a regular red-coloured singular lightsaber. It was not returned with his body. It currently sits just below Aery’s youngling’s lightsaber.

In these robes I shall pour my malice; my ice-cold fury and fiery temper, my darkest and meanest thoughts.
Aery’s Robes: His robes are suffused with the deepest pits of the dark side, as well as Aery’s own malice; literally, in the creation of the robes he poured almost all of his hatred and malevolence. The creation of these robes are most likely the reason for Aery’s affable personality; while wearing them he is capable of delving into the dark side without being blinded by the negatives of his personality.

Aery’s robe is made of a fibrous cloth and is almost as long as he is tall, around five foot three or so inches. It has a wide open hood. Due to its connection to the dark side, it isn’t particularly all that warm to wear, even to the most skilled of practitioners. It would seethe against them, especially if they’re more inclined toward the light side of the force. Nightmares and dark visions (not future-seeing) would come to those unprepared, much like the mind invasion of a Sith Holocron. It always feels as though the hood is trying to close in on the wearer, unless they’ve successfully subdued the rage within it. This is done by imprinting their Force against it. This carries significant risk of falling further to the Dark Side.

There are benefits to wearing the cape, even if your name isn’t Lord Aery. It swirls and blurs your movements while using Force Speed, making you look more like a fleeting shadow than a person running really fast, as well as enhancing one’s force stealth. If one is bonded with the robe, they would find the Dark Side of their powers to be enhanced, as its malice feeds the user, augmenting their power to be stronger by a decent but not overwhelming amount.

SHIP:
For his own transport, Lord Aery makes use of a Tau-class Sith-Imperial Shuttle until he can commission a different one.
