MANAAN
Ahto City

The job was done, credits in hand. Simple snatch and grab- someone was hiding out in Ahto City, away from prying eyes. The searching and the scouring paid off, and the would-be escapee found themselves back in custody. It was a simple transaction, and after all, Fenn never took it personally. He understood the motivations of all involved. Bounty Hunters had more motivation, less arguments about jurisdiction and due process, rights. And those that ran- didn't want to go to jail, die, or be forced to pay their debt. If he was in the shoes of the would-be bounty havers, he'd do the same.

And run.

He brought them in warm, the deal was processed, and he had a nice shiny stack of credit chits. And currently, no way to leave the city, and continue on his path. Funny enough- he spent his time chatting up a Chiss Alliance Soldier at the local cantina. The extra few hours ensnared him in a particular troublesome situation.

The entire city's ship hangars were on lockdown, for some reason that was apparently related to a police investigation. No doubt some Silver Jedi Investigator, do-Gooder, or worse, Jedi would happen upon the situation and take it upon themselves to lengthen the amount of time Fenn was stuck on the planet.

Fenn later learned that it was due to a triple murder- not something to be taken lightly. And he knew how long these investigations could go. It was in his financial interest to solve this problem before he spent all of the money he just made on eating, drinking, and sleeping somewhere.

No one was leaving, only could come. His ride off-world was locked tight behind several feet of durasteel, and ten miles of red tape. He was angry, pacing around the flyer's cantina near the hangars. The situation had only affected the pilots and off-worlders, everyone else seemed happy to squirm the now-stuck pilots, travelers, and mercenaries for more money. Hotels would need be arranged, drinks, and food to be bought and eaten.

What was supposed to be an easy job, turned into quite the sticky situation. And Fenn didn't like the staring. He was big enough- but being a big Mandalorian meant that people tended to linger their stares a tad bit longer. He sat in the corner of the cantina, a booth facing the bar, while he tapped his fingers, weighing his options.

Shooting his way out was a thought, but that would only draw the ire of the Silver Jedi, and more importantly, ruin any chance of operating in Silver Jedi space again without being hassled. Plus it wasn't fair to the dockworkers and security guards. As if they had any say in the goings on, and if it really bothered them. Slaughtering the fish-people wasn't the right move, but neither was sitting here.

Are you a Jedi coming to investigate the triple murder? Another stuck traveler? A security guard? Gonna help Fenn sneak off the planet- or help him solve the murder?

Let's Have Ourselves a Gunfight
A clearly annoyed man stepped into the cantina, making a beeline for the bar. Straden ordered a glass of Corellian whiskey, making a sighing exhale as he took a sip. Dank farrik, why'd he bother coming to Manaan for work? Freakin' fish people and their freakin' neutrality. He'd bounced job to job after leaving the First Order, looking for merc work where he could find it. For some reason he thought he might find work in Ahto City, and look where that got him.

With nothing better to do currently, he took his glass and went over to the first person to catch his eye, that bein' the big ol' Mando in the corner. Arrik sat down at the booth, tipping his glass back for another sip of whiskey, before looking over at Fenn Stag Fenn Stag . "Can you believe this bantha crap? Some fish get filleted, and now no one can leave?"

There was a long, terse silence as the man, in the span of a few seconds, sat down, got a drink, and then talked to him in his own little booth. He might as well have walked into his own house and took a seat on his favorite chair.

Not that Silas had a house, but still.

He didn't mind it, too much.

"Triple murders are bad for business."

And bad for people wanting to get off world.

"Which means they also have no leads."
