Discussion Looking For a New Show to Watch

I’ve gotten into a rut of watching the same old shows over and over. I need something new.

Preferably not science fiction or high fantasy because I don’t like the genre. The exception may be some of the new Star Wars shows.

Open to suggestions if anybody has them :)

The Shield is really good. The first three or so seasons are a bit meh. But it really finds it's footing in the fourth, and becomes a Michael Mann style action-drama in the LA 'burbs. The protagonists are all antiheroes, but it never feels like it gets the respect it deserves unlike Breaking Bad and the Sopranos.

Shoutout to Utopia, an Aussie comedy about the bureaucracy caused by government. As well as the problems caused by government projects.

Love/Hate; Irish crime drama. Only watched the first and second season and I really quite enjoyed it.

The Letdown. Really funny and poignant drama regarding motherhood and all that entails. Some solid stuff.

Justified, drama/crime show about US Marshals but equally about friendship, loyalty and family and the past. And the dialogue is fantastic.

Here's the OPENING scene of the show. Perfectly captures the show.

Chernobyl if you haven't seen it.

Masters of the Air is beautiful, but pretty brutal- the show is about bombing squadrons and the Army Air Corps in WW2- with a staggering 50% MORTALITY rate.

I have recently been watching an old anime show called Monster which is a noir esque thriller set in the 1990s. No superpowers, a very grounded and intriguing story with adult themes. Give the first episode a shot if you like anime.
