Looking for a Deputy Director of Intelligence

The minister isn't resigning she was asked to stay on by [member="Jack Sparrow"] who said the minister didn't have to be a senator.

I don't know why you're always trying to get rid of me. If you don't like me as a writer fine you don't have to write with me.[member="Geral Varta"]

I belive the Alderaan affair made you come off as someone not working for the GR. It is a missunderstanding that have left confusiion in its wake.
But to smooth over that missunderstanding the post as Minister of intelligence is appointed by the Supreme Chancellor. And each minister can then employ various officials to his/hers office as is normal. In short - Jack ICly asked Faith to continue her job.

Can a minister be appointed without being a senator? We have discussed it briefly and merely stated that there are no rules against it. Hence Faith is legit to continue on her seat for as long as the Supreme Chancellor (or in some cases the vice) fires her or replaces her.

Now, that said, OOC staff do want to have a say in some appointments due to the obvious reasons of writers grabbing chairs and then going inactive or working in ways that does not make sense to the democratic system of the GR.
We see no issues with Faith on the Minister of intelligence post.
[member="Caius Flavian"] seem like an excellent choice for the suggested job as well, no objections there either ;)

Lol I've never tried to get rid of you. But your activity with the faction has been lacking and your activity with a rival faction has increased. That's not a judgment either, coupled with the tone of this thread, I merely assumed one of the goals was to transition your writing away from the post. Hence, I suggested we merely replace you.

We're all friends here, but I'm glad I was able to provide you clarification.

Back to the job:

Absolutely the Minister should have to be a senator, IC. It is a post that should come from the ranks of officials elected by the people, hence why all positions are handled as such (Supreme Court seats, etc).
The character should at least be holding an elected office.

OOC, we can decide however we want who will work the position, as long as they are:

Active
Available
Help promote and facilitate RP
Coordinate with other similar faction groups

[member="Geral Varta"] I've been writing personal stories that are not faction stories, as well as a minor faction for Alderaan. Faith is not a member of any other major faction. I did participate in one Mandalorian story about Mandoburger, I didn't consider that to be an issue.

And when I've approached others about stories that are related to Republic stories they are all wrapped up in invasions and such.

Also since Faith isn't a Senator anymore she can't participate in Senator threads like she use to, except for making notes, she can't vote.

And as clarified the choice is up to Faith, and then to be ratified by the Senate and Republic staff, but as of this post that is all on hold.

[member="Mantic Dorn"] I think you can lock and archive this, its run its' course for the moment.

You could always represent another system. You don't have to be a native to represent. I'm from Mandalore and represent Azure.

As far as ministerial positions go, I think it's important we have this talk. I've always been an advocate of senators abdicating their seat to do maintain an executive position. I think it leads to too much of a conflict of interest and diminishes the meaning of checks and balances. The chancellor abdicates their seats, why shouldn't it be the same with ministers?

Heir to the Emperor, Senator of Denon
why do things always lead to drama.

Based on the tone of the thread... and the title you were asking for names.... then say you should be the only one who gets to pick.

I care very little, just have fun and have some fun.

Locked by request of thread creator.
The deputy has bern found.

A discussion regarding ministerial posts and if a senator post is required to work as minister is most welcome on a seperate thread with appropriate title.
