Long Lost Family. . .

Alys walked down the street taking in the beautiful view of the water and enjoying her time off from her Jedi training. Feeling hungry, she decided to stop in at a diner before heading back to the Jedi academy. Walking into the diner she took a seat in a window booth. The place was not very high class having a greasy and filthy air about it. But she didn't really have the credits for anything better, so it'd have to do. After waiting for a minute, the waiter droid came over. Ordering some seafood, she relaxed back in her seat staring out at the water glistening in the sunlight while she waited for her food to be delivered.

Location: Lothal

Jack had been digging for months now and looking for any information he could on Vassara. She was a rogue, a mystery, a vanishing light. There wasn't much about her in the Jedi archives, seeing as how her work had mostly taken place from the shadows. But he had stumbled upon one thing though. The old family friend he'd been left with on Nar Shaada when he was young.

And he'd just had huge revelation. Jack was not alone, despite his aunt being a stalwart pirate somewhere in the rim that he barely knew, he had more family. He had a twin sister.

He wasn't really sure what to make of it. Most of the archives he'd checked on Voss marked her as a Padawan, which meant she was with the Jedi Order, and possibly the Republic. A double edged sword for the young spacer captain, as the Republic were embattled with the Clans of Mandalore, whom Jack was a part of.

But curiosity got the best of him. He'd heard she was on Lothal through a sympathetic contact in the Gallactic Alliance area. So here he was, on Lothal. He hadn't found her yet, but he was trying. Dak beside him they walked down the main streets of the capitol, his head on a subtle swivel, black spacers coat flapping in the breeze behind his long strides....

Alys looked up as the waiter droid arrived with her food. She quickly ate the fish and the side-salad that came with it. To those watching she might have seemed in a rush, but she had nothing or urgent to attend to or anything. She just didn't like to waste time. Finishing her meal, she payed her tab and left a small tip on the table before exiting the diner.

Alys went back the same way she had come, going to find a shuttle to take her back to the Jedi temple. She was wearing the typical jedi outfit: an cream colored tunic, with a darker brown robe over it. Her long brown hair draped over her shoulders. She walked quickly, her eyes focused mainly on the water and the lothal sunset as the city slowly descended into night.

They were at the end of the street and Jack was out of patience. How hard was it to find a karking girl? Not too hard he wagered, except he had no idea what she would look like. He guessed partially like him since he was her twin. Or so he had reads.

"Dak you-"

And there she was. He was certain because he felt it deep down in his guts, a rumble that turned from a slow stream into a roaring river. The brown robes, the way she moved. The hair was even a color close to his. He sprinted, boots casting stones and dust into the thin air. He was gaining on her fast, intent not to lose her as a crowd surged about the streets, buying and selling good, going here and there.

After what felt like an eternal battle against the press of bodies he reached her and planted both feet firmly apart. Clad in just his jacket and trousers, with a white shirt underneath and Besk'ad on his hip he pointed to her with calloused fingers.

"Oy you lass! Stop!"

"What do you want?" Alys asked rather harshly, her hand instinctively reaching down towards the lightsaber hidden beneath her robe in case he had ill intentions.

She glared at him, clearly unhappy about being bothered. Looking at him, their seemed to be something strangely familiar about him. But despite that, she had no idea who he was. She didn't even know she had a brother let alone know who he was. She'd always wondered about her family, but the jedi order seemed to have no place for such relationships and over the years she'd given up hope of ever finding them. It was something she had very little control over, she wouldn't have even known where to start if she was going to look for them. So she had conveniently pushed any thoughts about them out of her mind and focused on the jedi order and things that were important to her. But things were about to change . . .

She turned quickly and Jack was met with the sight of her hand dropping into her robe. Not a good sign. In reaction he dropped his own hand to his Besk'ad, drawing the blade halfway from it's sheath a ring. He hadn't even realized the gut reaction, but checked himself just before it came fully out. His eyes locked with hers, and he knew it must be her.

His own eyes were staring directly back at him. All caution and small talk to the wind he simply blurted out his first set of thoughts, as Dak moved in behind him, hand on his blaster.

"Well I'm not here to hurt you, but if it's a fight you want...."

He trailed off, just staring, feeling that familiar gut instinct welling up like a wave crashing on a desolate beach.

"You're a Raxis, aren't you..."

Alys noticed him reach for his weapon in response to her defensive measures and on top of that his thug in the background was also prepared to fight. She didn't have a good feeling about the situation with it being two on one, but she wasn't about to back down. She held her lightsaber in her hand, ready should either of them make a move against her not trusting him for a second.

"Yes. Now what do you want?" She demanded wondering if somebody had placed a bounty on her head or something else that might cause people to come after her.

Jack paused. It was her then. And she was defiant as ever, a common trait which only served to confirm the Mandalorians Spacers suspicions. The feel of the force, the hair, the eyes, the attitude. And she said she was a Raxis? After all this time searching and here she was. Except she was a Jedi, no doubt Republic. Jack was a Mandalorian, and the two governments were at war.

Pushing that aside he simply stared and nodded.

"Well then, I'd be your brother girl. A saber will have a hard time cutting through Beskar, so don't start with me."

Jack kept staring, shooting those laser beams from his eyes that had once been his mothers trait.

"You want to learn about your family kid? Or are you going to be snooty?"

She paused unsure what to think of the man. He could always be lying, but she highly doubted it. She kept her lightsaber in hand, but relaxed more no longer afraid of an impending attack.

"What do you know?" she asked hesitantly.

If he was really her brother like he said. Then she was hopeful he could answer her questions and lead her to her parents, assuming they were actually still alive and well.

"Depends. Y'know your mother? Your heritage?"

Jack slammed the Besk'ad back into the sheath letting his hand rest on the pommel. His other hand hung from the gunbelt by a single thumb, and his complexion twitched slightly. It was rather painful what he was going to have to tell her. But then again she could be lying too. If she was a Raxis, she'd at least know the name of her mother.

Considering Vassara had thrown a chunk of wall at the Grandmaster of the Jedi order once via the force.

"I know a little bit, but not much." Alys replied. "After being taken by the Jedi, I've had no contact with any relatives and the Jedi archives didn't have much besides various bits and pieces. So what do you know?

She asked him again, looking for answers and not wanting to play 21 questions. He had come to her after all, why would he bother with her if she was an imposter in the first place.

Jack felt the urge to roll his eyes. She was still being mighty snooty. He supposed it was a trait of the Jedi. That whole no attachments thing. Ugh Jedi.

After a few more moments he simply stared at her and then let slip the knowledge on her.

"Your Mothers name is Vassara. Bet they didn't tell you that kid. Go ahead and look her up in the Archives. You got an Aunt, a Cousin and a few other relatives still living too. That's if your allowed to see us."

He let it go at that. That was all that needed to be said. If she was interested, she'd find time someday to make it back around and talk. Otherwise Jack was busy Spacer, with lot's of stuff to do.

"Here's my holonet number. Give it a jingle when you're ready to talk and less....distracted."

He flipped her a datachip and then vanished.....

Alys caught the datachip and was unable to get another word in before he disappeared. She sighed. She glanced out at the water, then at the datachip. She could throw it in the ocean and forget this ever happened. They'd already pawned her off on the Jedi and now this, they didn't seem to want to be around her. She eventually decided to tuck it away in a pocket on her belt. She might as well go back to the archives and see what she could find, no reason not to. Then after that she'd decide what to do with the datachip.

Finally she started walking again, continuing on her path into the darkening lothal night.
