AGE: 20
SEX: Female
HEIGHT: 5'7"
WEIGHT: Healthy enough
EYES: Light green
HAIR: Brownish purple

FORCE SENSITIVE: Nah

-------------------------------------------

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (Required: 2 Weaknesses Minimum) :

  • Curiosity: If curiosity were to kill anybody, it would be this young Zabrak. She is willing to try new things and is always asking questions on things, no matter how trivial it might seem to others. However, she tends to follow her nose rather than her brain, and her curiosity has a big tendency to get her into trouble for sticking her nose where it doesn't belong, or snooping around.
  • Bravery: Lok is as brave as she is stubborn, and is willing to take the first step, the first jump, or the first bite. She is willing to stand up to things she believes are wrong, even at a personal cost. However, her bravery also borders on reckless stupidity and more often than not results in bodily damage.
  • Stubbornness: While Lok might call perseverance, she is very stubborn when it comes to pursuing an idea or working through a problem. She has an almost manic fear of giving up, seeing it as weak, and that coupled with her natural pain tolerance often leads to her pushing herself beyond her limits -- something that, while admirable, is also dangerous for a young body. It is also difficult to sway her mind once she is set on pursuing a particular path, whether it be right or wrong.
  • Integrity: Lok's parents have instilled into their daughter a strong sense of honesty and integrity, leading her to always seek the truth and take responsibility for the consequences of her actions. She is genuine with everyone, wearing her heart on her sleeve. However, there is a downside. Because of her almost obsessive need to stay with honesty, Lok is incapable of lying or remaining quiet when she feels the truth is being shunned. Her blunt manner has also made it difficult to be a close friend, because she pulls no punches and isn't afraid to offend anyone.
  • Chronic Hero Syndrome: Not to be confused with the Hero Complex. Chronic Hero Syndrome is where an individual is constantly trying to save everyone, regardless if they are truly capable of pulling it off or not. They wish to solve any problem they encounter, even if they don't have a single clue as to what they're doing. Lok is no different. While not as severe yet, the Zabrak was always the one to jump in and defend who she perceived as the victim, whether or not the situation is already under control. Again, it is not very severe, but if the complex is not nipped in the bud now, it could expand into something more troublesome, and may lead to serious injury.
  • Force Attuned: This is not the same as being Force Sensitive. I repeat - THIS IS NOT THE SAME AS BEING FORCE SENSITIVE. Lok cannot wield the Force, nor does she have any mental abilities like mind-reading, presence-sensing, etc. Being Force attuned simply means she has a stronger signature in the Force than most other people, making it possible for a Force bond (albeit somewhat weak) to be forged, through little or no contribution on her part; it also contributes to her pain resilience, which is a little stronger than the average Zabrak.
APPEARANCE:
See picture. Despite being 20 years old, Lok has yet to completely lose all of her baby fat -- resulting in somewhat plump cheeks, and a soft physique overall. Her clothing style is rather nondescript, but around her neck she always wears a wooden pendant made to resemble the horn of a lok (a creature very similar to a Bantha). The pendant had been handed down from generation to generation, given to the first born child of the previous first born, all of whom were also named "Lok".

BIOGRAPHY:
Lok was born on the planet of Iridonia to two average Zabrak parents: Lok Maxus, a former pilot (now retired); and Jas Maxus (nee Rodi), a nurse at the local hospital. The first born of three children, the older Lok decided to continue on his family tradition despite his wife's protests of the name not being a girl's name. Jas was afraid that the girl would be teased, and she was right.

But, by middle school Lok had proved she was no weakling, having earned respect for not taking anyone's bantha poodoo.

Other than that, Lok led a fairly normal Iridonian life as a child. She had her father's adventurous streak in her, which was passed on to her two younger brothers (Rouk, who was two years younger than Lok, and Thatch, who was four years younger), and together the three would get into no end of trouble. Of course, when the reprimandations would come around, Lok Senior would receive his fair share from his wife, as most of the time he instigated it.

When Thatch was four years old, it was discovered that he was Force Sensitive. Both of Lok's parents were thrilled, as neither side of the family had ever been tuned to the Force, so without further ado they sent him off to the Jedi Academy to be trained. Both Lok and Rouk were sad to see their little brother go, but accepted it when their parents said it was for the best.

Nonetheless, the family always made sure to holocom their Jedi-in-training, with the three siblings filling each other in on what was going on. As the years progressed, however, contact was made less frequently and the interactions became more strained, particularly on Thatch's end. And then, eventually, they stopped altogether.

Lok and her brother always chalked it up to Thatch being busy with Jedi stuff, and focused on completing their schooling; while Rouk wanted to go into medicine, like his mother, Lok was uncertain and began to look into being a pilot, like her dad.

Shortly before Lok turned twenty, however, news reached the Maxus family that Thatch had abandoned the Order for the Sith. Her parents, and Thatch's Jedi Master, both assumed that Thatch had gone of his own free will; even Rouk voiced his uneasy belief in that being the reason. Lok, however, fiercely defended her youngest brother. She accused the naysayers of jumping to conclusions and upheld the conviction that the Sith had, in fact, abducted her baby brother in order to brainwash him. (Stupid baby snatchers!)

Angered, Lok decided to take matters into her own hands. Packing up her few possessions and withdrawing all of her savings, the young Zabrak set out to (somehow) find and rescue her brother.

But only after she actually learns how to fight like a Mandolin, lol. I'm afraid right now she's just average with Zabraki martial arts.
