  • Lodd was born on Pure Neimoidia and survived the competition of the hives by securing more food than those around him. He learned early that having enough was less useful than having what someone else needed.

His aptitude for accounting earned him a place within the ruling Trade Monarch's inner circle. He learned quickly, becoming useful through accurate figures, profitable recommendations, and an instinct for knowing which superior deserved agreement. When the Federation required a new minister to represent its interests within the Second Galactic Alliance, Lodd moved into politics.

In the Senate, he openly favored corporate interests over public welfare. He enjoyed executive transport, expensive entertainment, and the privileges of office, relying on political allies to survive scrutiny. He served Viceroy Rulonom Laborr without publicly challenging his leadership. Appearing dependable was safer than appearing hungry for promotion.

As wars weakened the Alliance and disrupted established markets, Lodd cultivated relationships across factional lines. His commercial record reflects that approach: negotiating access to foreign currency for the Sith economy, securing infrastructure agreements, and exchanging emergency relief capacity for legislative support.

When the Neimoidian faction displaced Laborr and restored Gat Tambor, Lodd survived the transition. His eventual election as Trade Monarch gave him authority over the Purse-Worlds and a base from which to strengthen Neimoidian control within the Federation. He increasingly treated capable non-Neimoidian officials as liabilities rather than assets.

His most consequential partnership developed with Darth Carnifex. It brought protection and commercial access at a price Lodd was willing to impose on others. Federation records describe an arrangement supplying children to Carnifex's war machine in exchange for protection against Corporate Sector encroachment.

Following Tambor's disappearance into the Unknown Regions, Lodd assumed the office of Commanding Viceroy. He now has the authority he once avoided openly pursuing and considerably more to lose.

  • Lodd is greedy, vain, and protective of his own comfort. He likes expensive speeders, private shuttles, good entertainment, and being treated as someone important. He sees nothing wrong with enjoying these things while arguing that the Federation cannot afford better wages or public relief.

He is good with money and knows when spending it will earn him more. He will fund an ambitious project, support a new government, or help rebuild a damaged world if the terms favor the Federation. He expects something in return, preferably an arrangement that keeps the other party dependent on him.

His loyalty lasts as long as it remains useful. He can serve a superior faithfully for years without liking them, provided his position is secure. When leadership changes, he makes sure the incoming administration has reasons to retain him.

Lodd is outspoken when he feels safe. In the Senate or among his own executives, he complains freely and expects to be heard. Facing someone like Carnifex, he becomes much more careful. He will bow, flatter, and tolerate humiliation to preserve their partnership, though lost profits can still prompt him to object.

He favors other Neimoidians and trusts them more readily than outsiders. He calls this sensible management, even when it means dismissing someone more capable. He also takes criticism badly, especially in public. He may remain polite through a meeting, then quietly block the critic's next request.

Other people's suffering rarely troubles him enough to interfere with business. He is more likely to ask what a disaster will cost than how many people were hurt. He does not think of himself as cruel. He thinks someone has to make the difficult decisions, and he prefers those decisions to leave him richer.

    The Trade Federation
The Trade Federation, known in shorthand as TradeFed, was a megacorporation that worked as an interstellar shipping and trade conglomerate. It is widely considered the second largest corporate power in the galaxy after Arceneau Trade Company due to its many connections from the former Galactic Alliance, to the Galactic Empire and every faction in between.

  • Financial Expertise
Recognizes investment opportunities and understands how to turn commercial activity into sustained growth. This is an established part of his character, not simply a reputation bought with his office

    Transactional Diplomacy
Finds something each party wants and makes Federation participation necessary to obtain it. His agreements link transport, infrastructure, currency access, and political concessions.

    Economic Influence
Uses concealed funding to cultivate sympathetic governments and secure favorable market positions without exposing the full extent of Federation involvement.

    Institutional Resources
Can bring financing, shipping, industry, and commercial legitimacy to partnerships that military powers cannot easily supply themselves.

    Calculated Assertiveness
Can object even to a dangerous partner when losses become intolerable, provided he frames the objection around mutual interests and compensation.

    Personal Cowardice
Immediate threats can force concessions he would reject across a negotiating table. His financial intelligence does not make him physically brave.

    Dependence on Others
His relationship with Carnifex offers protection but remains unequal. Commercial usefulness is not independence.

    Moral Bankruptcy
Deals involving exploitation and atrocities leave him vulnerable to exposure, retaliation, and enemies who will not accept a financial settlement.

    Short-Sighted Greed
He may demand such favorable terms that partners begin searching for alternatives. His proposal to answer market disruption with an exclusive bacta monopoly illustrates how quickly compensation becomes an opportunity for greater control.
