Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
Caltin Vanagor Caltin Vanagor

"The Father had three wives."
"Three?"
"Yes, it is not a story that they tell much anymore. It is an old story the first jedi heard."
"It began with him an androgyne giant back at the beginning of time. He was born four arms, four legs, two heads... and in his loneliness he divided into two beings. The Father and the Mother."
"SHe was his first wife, powerful, intelligent she was after all a part of him.... and she wanted equality... superiority perhaps. WHich was the final straw. She was cast away, her children taken from her and secluded on Mortis."
"THe mother went her own way, made her own home and copulated with other beings giving birth to beings that spread across the stars spreading darkness and influencing thousands of worlds.. With her gone the father was left alone... It was then that the father created a new wife."
"And what was her name."
"The poor thing, she was never given a name. The Father created her from nothingness.... Bone first, then internal organs, flesh, muscle, sinew, fat, bile, eyes, snot, skin, hair, breath."
"He wouldn't go near her, he saw her for what she had been full of secretions and blood. Even powerful beings have problems with the things that go on within them. You find out someone inside is just mucus and meat, slime and bone."
"People live, salivate, defecate, cry and it can just kill the romance."
"And what happened to her?"
"Opinions differ, some texts believe that the father destroyed her, other texts claim she was allowed to leave and find her own place in the galaxy."
"Then it was that the father met another, a human woman. HE took her in to care for his children. A son and a daughter... and for a time she was there but fearful of losing them she drank and bathed in places no mortal being was meant to go and in doing so was trapped away from the children she cared for. Destined to be alone."
"And the mother went on to birth wutzek and from him typhojem and the mnggal. Which have haunted the galaxy. Even now they still walk. The nameless one was made and forgotten, perhaps destroyed and unmentioned except in the oldest of tomes... and Abeloth lived to be older then any human woman if she could be called that any more... Some say she was a daughter of the Mother displaced to avenge herself upon the father.... and that is the story."

The Celestial Jedi Temple of Secher Nbiw moved... a large temple carved from kyber crystal, lined with solarite stone. Fashioned into a temple the jedi operated out of that released mini temples which sought force sensitives. THe jedi master was saying it in the class of jedi who were there... older students who were asking questions about the story. Not much but the jedi master had invited several jedi from around the galaxy to come and talk. Their views of the force, their experiences had been invaluable in deciding where they might go at times. It allowed for a few other... species to also join the ranks of what Matsu called cosmic jedi.. ones dedicated not just to worlds but they went from galaxy to galaxy... trillions of them that were beng colonized by the order with chapter houses and vessels seeking out force sensitives.

"Well you have all sat through my tale, what do you have?" She said it finding a place to sit and listened to all of them as well as the temple itself as it moved. The sight of it as they were on the back of a living mountain of kyber was certainly a view.

The tale was… unique. That was of course a bit of an understatement. While he did not truly follow all of it, the tale was epic to say the least and he was happy to have been able to hear it from her. When Matsu asked for others to tell their stories, Caltin let more than a few tell their tales. In fact, he let the “procession” so to speak, get around to him.

Mine is rather boring in comparison; but a Jedi wanting to test his skills as he had just been through an experience that was life changing soon found himself doing something that he had never truly thought possible. This Guardian had found himself in a position of exponentially increasing gravity. I won’t bore with the details, but more and more the gravity increased, and though he did not know it initially, he was carrying more and more weight than he could have believed.

A bit of a smirk, knowing “those who know, would know”, he got to it. It was when he was beginning to think about what was happening that another Jedi, less than half his size was skipping around him. He was struggling, she was skipping. Needless to say, it had to have been a humbling experience.

She listened and Caltin's tale did bring a small laugh to her... not audible but she had it while she was sitting there and moved around. "Well it certainly is something to learn from and that is another part of this. A jedi must be forever learning... the Selab a symbol of learning is small. Its branches stretching out and it always has room to grow because knowledge never stops." She said it and looked around at them. "Which is why you have come here. The Temple which some have called the cosmic temple of the jedi serves to expand our knowledge... specifically because it sits in a place almost central to the galaxies." Her hand came up. "So far we have mapped and using the web created by older beings... we have connections to several hundred trillion galaxies. Teeming with life, the force and stories... information, teachings, means to learn about the force."

Caltin listened to her presentation. He listened to all of them, and while he was not disrespectful, he wondered why it seemed important. Certainly, it is an amazing, not to mention humbling thought that the Light could extend so far, but was it centrally relevant to here? Certainly, knowing about the cultures, the beliefs, and the practices of the others is a great thing, but is it relevant to his galaxy?

Does a Purgil need to know how to swim under water?

Does a Porg need to know how to travel in space?

He would not disrespect the proceedings by bringing this up, he would simply listen and take it all in.

Perhaps the pieces to this puzzle will find their way to fit.

She looked around. "Some doubt maybe, just look at what we have seen so far. Most civilizations in the galaxy are built off another. Stretching back to the celestials and further then that. We know they were not the first just one of the more widespread. The ones who came before we know have left the galaxy... forming empires, civilizations in other places. We know species that devastate galaxies exist. The Vong faced them and had to flee their own galaxy because of what happened. We know the witches of Dathomir were able to expand to Peridea and from probes we know some hyperrgates the gree made reached far beyond any known areas of travel." She said it while walking around the room and dismissing soe of them as others were able to go to different classes and the jedi master pulled up screens as she looked at Caltin. "Relax, you are in a place few jedi get to be and there are many more mysteries this far out. These disputed worlds have been... different to explore."

Caltin has mellowed, a LOT over the years.

He used to be a firestorm of irritability in his principles.

Now? Not as much.

That being said, his eyebrows will go up when you interrupt him when he is making a point.

His eyes will open when you call him to the carpet.

Mind you, he had great respect for Matsu Ike, and she would not do so without reason. He could accept that without issue. It still made him wonder. No complaints or disrespect intended, Master Ike. I am appreciative of this opportunity. I am simply processing all of this in my own way. He offered a smirk, not out of disrespect or ire, it would hopefully remind her of his “unique” approach to this sort of thing. He hoped to convey his respect while maintaining his individuality. Caltin's mind raced as he processed the situation, wondering how best to navigate the complexities of this interaction.

She gave a nod of her head to that and remained there as the sounds within the temple came... the room clearing out and being joined as bejeweled robes entered. The Brides of the Force experiment had been... different but she did not deny it had worked. Allowing them do roam around the various temples. "Oh my Vanagor, you have so many things to see... just wait until you learn about how we are advancing the use of the force." She held her hands up. "This, the temples... they are a small part of it, the chapter houses in various galaxies, force planes and places outside of even that." The grin remained on her face though. "We move forward, we look back. The jedi have some of the greatest potential, and there are ways to aid the galaxy that many do not know. We have seen what we had, what we have lost and what we have the potential to in time recover while moving and expanding. We don't have to conquer but the order when it became complacent allowed many things to rise up without their notice."

“We move forward, we look back.”

Very true and prudent words to speak of, but Caltin had been around more than long enough to know that one must pay attention to the past. Do not live in it, but pay attention. This was not something he was going to dwell on, what she said, but it was a differing opinion.

He was listening to everything else, and it was truly amazing to witness, the big man did not hide it, but there was something to what Matsu was talking about, and their expansion. It reminded him of the Galactic Alliance. They had their issues to be sure, who didn’t from time to time, but the work being done was for the greater good, and the good of the Jedi as a whole.

So he could appreciate this.

She gave him a look and motioned with her hand. The chance to go through as the crystal walls gleamed wih their own internal light. The chambers opening to reveal different purposes as there was no open skied areas. "The frost on this world can be more dangerous. The outside temperatures can reach colder then hoth at times and that is in the middle of the day so it was built with biodomes inside to simulate open skies and sunlight... makes training and controlling everything easier. We have also begun developing the next generation of vessels for the jedi who are being diplomats to the galaxies we have managed to chart and expand to. With automated ships and diplomatic vessels we are nearing seven billions with anchorr stations and several hundred trillions still on the way but our force user potential has expanded." She said it while staying down the halls as a viewport looking out on the massive mountain that was walking with the academy. "Wandering mountain has ben kind to us as well in keeping the temple mobile."

Following along, Caltin was enthralled in what he was seeing. Admittedly a bit lost, but enthralled. This is crazy… Still looking around, he gave her a look. ... in a good way, just to be clear.

He wondered. How many galaxies have you reached to this point? How many that you know about and plan to? Just really making conversation and trying to keep up, he was still looking around, and then she mentioned him, or her, or it. He wasn’t sure.

”Wandering mountain” Now is “he” attune to the Force? Or simply a kind soul?

"He is a living mountain of kyber crystal and one of the jedi masters who advice others here. Mostly about how to connect to the force on a greater level." She said it and waited a moment. "As to our reach ahh.... laster count was seven hundred trillions galaxies observed and charted with three hundred millions visited so far. Nearly a dozen force planes and dimensions with some having their own planets we can expand too and explore." She said it with a smile though as there was always more. "We designed new model temple ships which can go to the galaxies, seek out force sensitives and places that are strong with it. We will be able to find locations untouched by the sith and the darkside at least that is the hope and resources that might be unique to the force that can be used. We discovered ether dust, it makes the barrier between planes of the force thinner allowing one to see through it. So one could look into the netherworld of the force or the timestream."

Each and every bullet point that Matsu had brought up, the answers she gave, they all made Caltin’s eyes grow that much larger. While this sort of life was not for him, it was still incredible and inspiring in just how much a reach they are and just how far reaching the aspect of the Force could extend out to.

Sure, it still raised the questions he had initially, but knowledge was knowledge, and he still looked around with a look that simply said “WOW!” Never thought I would quote the Mandalorians… He laughed openly... ... and I mean this in a context of being so wildly amazed at all you and yours have accomplished… but “DANK FERRIK!”.

He laughed again. Pride is not something we should focus on, I know, but you have created something incredible here. I am just thrilled, and privileged to be able to experience even a small sliver of it. Makes me appreciate just how small the Temple of the Elements, and hopefully one day again, The Shadow Temple are.

"Pride is not the problem, If your vocation be shoeing horses, or painting pictures, and you can do one or the other better than your fellows, then you are a fool if you are not proud of your ability. This might be a larger scale but to not accept it is done would be bad... it is not getting overly prideful in what has been done. We have reached a lot of worlds... found a lot or potential that in untapped and learned a lot of other things but we still have room to learn.. we still have places to grow and expand." She said it while continuing forward as several jedi were within a classroom and being trained. Their bodies were around various runes on the ground. "Generation training.. the different environmental footing allows them to learn how to shift and alter, to reach down and pull at the energy around them. Making it so even a silver jedi paadawan can access reserves of the force few masters can."

Now it was Caltin’s turn to give a look, did she just read him wrong? Or was there more to all of this expansion that was going on, and talk of power? He couldn’t shake the feeling that something deeper was at play. The expansion, the talk of power—it all seemed too calculated. Was he missing a piece of the puzzle, or was she simply testing him? Caltin decided that it was clearly the latter, and left it at that.

I was paying a compliment, but okay. What has been the most surprising aspect of all of this so far?

"Surprising? Hmmm that we are more alike to some that we have discovered then one might think. There is influences from other species that have visited us in galaxies some have no thought of. In different ways, with aspects at least but largely it has been how much the force truly encompasses." She said it while walking past the class and offering a small shrug. "We can also see influences from our own galaxy... some of the older expeditions, hyperspace accidents and sabotage have been investigated. At the edge of the universe in the spectrum a region that is there and able to see the barrier. We found a pius dea vessel that crashed into it. Everyone was dead, attacked by creatures of madness but they had made it to a place no one else had before. We found beings from our galaxy still alive after billions of years that have fought against things more dangerous then many could imagine on worlds of wonder." She looked. "So i gues the surprise is that no matter how strong we have all become, no matter how large we are still a flea compaared to some things out here."

Nodding, he looked around again. ”There is always someone better”, I get that. It made sense really, after all, he was experiencing this very notion right now. Yes, the big man knew that the universe was vast and wide, but dimensions? Wow, that was something that brought out the curiosity one might have when faced with the unknown. He wondered what other surprises the cosmos had in store for him. The possibilities seemed endless, and he couldn't help but feel a mix of awe and trepidation at the thought of exploring them.

You mentioned how small this can make you feel? Besides this “Mountain”, have you experienced , like the “Mortis Gods” for example?

Herr eyebrow went up and she gave a nod. "On that level yes.. you were on Kashyyk when I was thrown into it. The being that did that was on par with them." She said it with a small chuckle as she had learned a lot since then in terms of what she could do with the force and how to heal herself. "There are things more powerful then the mortis gods, older things that have been locked away for a long time. Ashin whom we met on Tython and myself fought one such being or at least a part of it. based on what we can observe only a portion of it is able to manifest within our universe... same as the rozzum that live in a fluid like form and when in our galaxy dimension they are forced to take a solid form and don't understand so they are teeth and limbs and eyes."
