Link Trick

I'm trying to figure out the trick some people use where you have a link to something within the word. If you know what I mean? Like the link to something they're describing, say a picture of a dress, is in the word "dress" in the sentence. I've seen it done but I'm dumbfounded how to do it. Any help, please?

Highlight the word you want to link to.

Then just use the link button under the 'Size' down arrow.
