Rovan lowered his head in contemplation, "Is there some tests you wish to run? Some way you wish to test my control of the force. Also, is there anything I can do to help you be more at ease, master? You seem very tense." Rovan was used to people feeling like he needed to be cuddled while holding him at arm's reach, like he was some freak of nature.
"Yes," Sela said simply. "I will work with you to determine your current affinity with the Force, but that can wait until tomorrow, once you've eaten and rested." She finished making her note to herself to look into the guide animal. There would likely be some extensive training required; would they need to train it to know the Sanctuary? Or does it learn while doing? She didn't know. This was all new to her.
"Oh, me?" she asked, then chuckled indulgently. "No, Rovan. I am not tense -- well, not exactly." Sela folded her hands together around her stylus. "I have never been in this situation. I want to be sure you have the best chance for success, that is all. I am certain you have the capacity; my concern is with the Order's ability to accommodate what you need."
"Until we arrange for some kind of guide animal for you, will you be able to navigate well enough with the aid of a droid? Will you be able to, for instance, navigate the line at the canteen for breakfast, or should we arrange to have your meals delivered for now?"
Rovan nodded, "I-I guess I will be able to manage with a droid." He could operate with a droid, but in the back of his head, he was worried about being the target of some of the other padawans, but he trusted what his new master had said. "Thank you, Master," he said simply. "It doesn't have to be a Loth-wolf, I just remember one going through the station, it was smart, and it talked to me, and it had really soft fur." Rovan looked away. "But I was told they were very rare and that, since they can talk, some planets were trying to put forward laws to protect and give them sanctuary so that their population could grow."
"Interesting," said the Jedi Master curiously. "I know very little about the matter, so I appreciate that you have some insights into the matter. I will make enquiries and do some research of my own." Sela Basran shifted in her seat, tapping the pads of her index fingers together thoughtfully. "If not a Loth-Wolf, then I will see what I can do to ensure your companion is intelligent, capable, and has very soft fur."
A beat and she picked up her teacup. "You know. If it has fur at all."
Rovan nodded, then stood and slowly tried to stack his used dishes back on her tray. "Master Basran, if you could call a droid to lead me to my quarters, I would very much appreciate it. That and any teachings or writings I can listen to from past masters, the older the better. If there are any items I can meditate with, it might make it easier to connect to the teachings. I sometimes get insight when I touch items touched by the force.
