OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create an offensive weapon unique to the Lords of Light.

  • Canon Link: /
  • Primary Source: /
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Band of the Silik.
  • Affiliation: Band of the Silik | Lords of Light (x)
  • Model: Light's Embrace
  • Modularity: No
  • Production: Minor
  • Material: Durasteel, electronics, wiring.
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Pacification: At its essence the Light's Embrace is a generator (modular in size from staff to ship-based) that is capable of projecting two sort of fields. One a souped-up stun blast with an AoE effect and the other.... is something else.
Stun Wave: The wave is a radial stun blast that encapsulates the beliefs of the Jedi. To disable, but not to harm. The stun wave is modular in its effectivity and depends on the size of its generator. A staff-size is only functional at a personal-range. A small crowd can be incapacitated at most. The ones mounted on their ships are capable of incapacitating a single district of a large city at a time. The bigger the size, the longer it takes before it is ready to fire and to fire again though. These are not weapons that can be utilized for hours at a time. Strategic rather than mass capacity. Armored or shielded individuals will have a better time resisting the stun effect. Instead of being incapacitated they might feel drowsy, tired, things of that nature.
  • Pacification Field: This is the main ability of Light's Embrace. Once activated the larger-class generators are capable of producing a large passive field of influence all around it. (The size of a small city for instance). Its function? Sapping the will to fight from those it affects. Passion, anger, fury, rage, they slowly dissipate against the effects of the generator. It is not all encompassing, of course. Specific chemicals (that induce emotions) can counter this. Major feats of the Force (Force Rage, Fear, etc) can push against this effect as well.

Strengths:
  • Pacification: It lowers the ability to fight of the Light's enemies, either through brute force or more passive abilities.
  • Modular: Scaleable to a very large degree.
Weaknesses:
  • Counters: Not an end-all tool. There are numerous ways to resist the effects of the Embrace. From wearing armor or shield generators to chemicals and the Force. It cannot function against everything.
  • Effectivity versus Time: The bigger the effect is, the longer it takes to load up and use. At its largest, it can take minutes at a time to charge it up. Plenty of time to find a way to counter it.
DESCRIPTION

"What is the greatest strength of the Sith?"

"The Force?"

"Their passion. Take away their anger, their hate, their rage.... and they lose their edge."
The Light's Embrace was commissioned by Sardun not long after the Band established itself on Tython.

It is unclear where he got the designs from, but one day he showed up to one of its workshops. Schematics, old ones, already in hand and offered. While Michael believed that death was the best way to deal with them.... some in the faction believed otherwise. As a compromise this was devised.

A way to pacify and incapacitate their enemies.

The Embrace's touch has two options and abilities. One is an area of effect stun blast, that can disable multiple enemies at a time. The other... is more insidious. Passive. Its effects invisible. Once activated it begins to sap the will to fight. Draining away the rage, the anger, the wrath that powers the Darkside threat. Some argued that this was a breach of sanctity. It was indiscriminate, after all. Not only the Sith or other enemy opponents would be targeted.

Everyone.

But the Lords of Light do not need rage to fight.

As such this was considered an acceptable measure by Sardun.

Nobody would be killed by it, no?
