Saul Whesai
Character
Location: Kammia
Outfit:
So this was the Wild Space's Breadbasket. As Saul walked through the market stalls, people were buzzing all around him, with calls from merchants hawking their goods. The Old Imperial Colony World seemed to have prospered, with more and more people coming out here to get away from the Chaos in the center of the galaxy. And Saul wanted to get some fresh bread here on the way home... or at least back to work. He didn't think he could call the Farworlds home. Right now, the Drift with Nyra onboard felt more like home than anything else. An adopted home that still felt foreign to him but a home nonetheless. And so here he was trying to shop for ingredients to make the pasta dinner of her dreams.
There was one bad thing about this migration. These outer colonies were made to have this kind of through traffic. And while the people only increased, the material didn't. That, and farmers didn't usually have the skills to be structural engineers. So it was no surprise when a makeshift neon sign's support cables, which should have been replaced long ago, started to go; no one had even noticed. Until it started to come crashing down in the middle of the street.
Saul didn't even have time to say the curse words that were spawning in his head. All he had time to do was drop his bag of groceries, reach out, and grab the sign out of the air as lightning came out of his hands to catch the falling debris. Despite the nightmares, sometimes being an abused living magnet wasn't so bad. At least he could pretend to be a superhero, doing good for the will of the people. People looked around in surprise, wondering what had just happened as he set what remained of the sign down to the side. People who would never know his name. And that's how it should be, Saul thought as he picked his grocery bag once again and started to walk away. After all, who doesn't like alittle mystery?
