- Anyone can use it, though it's effects are stronger in the hands of a Force Sensitive.
- One Size Fits All: Through hate and willpower alone, even the most Force unsensitive can utilize the gauntlet and unleash blasts of lightning.
- Corruption: Ascendant tech is some of the darkest in the galaxy. Even Sith were known to avoid it for that reason. Utilizing the Lightning Gauntlet is to invite the darkest corruption of the Force into someone. Hate, anger, rage, they all run rampant and overwhelm those unprepared for it. Even those prepared.
- Backlash: A common injury from Force Lightning is burning oneself when someone isn't used to using it. These gauntlets always burn it's user. The pain of the burns is used to fuel the strength of the blast, but those who use it too much can inadvertently kill themselves.
- Brittle: Where most alchemized artifacts are immune or resistant to Lightsabers and damage, these aren't. They're not armor, they're not a weapon. And if they break, they violently erupt as the dark energy stored within is unleashed.
Ascendant Technology is truly a dark thing. The cult, for various reasons, crafted numerous dark objects that even a Sith would actively avoid. From the Thought Dowser to the Spark Eternal they sought to replicate a Sith's power in the Force through any means necessary. A Lightning Gauntlet is just another of those such artifacts.
Made from the same material as the Thought Dowser, the artifact empowers it's user to unleash the most classic of Sith abilities, Lightning. But not without it's costs. Sith Lightning is hate and anger made manifest, and such feelings quickly fill the user to an overwhelming degree. And unlike a Sith who could learn how not to harm themselves, the item will scald and burn the skin of it's user to a lethal degree. It's an item that can help a young Sith learn how to manifest their own, much as a Thought Dowser could be used to train an Acolyte in how to dominate a mind, but no sensible Sith would utilize it for long.
The main strength is that anyone can use it, from a Sith Lord to the average joe.
