File: D-3, 'Black Mark'
Status: In-progress
Type: Elimination
Target: Korran Veynic
Location: Echoy'la Colony, 14th moon of Echoy'la.
Active Operatives: Casany Praxor
Operative Status: Undiscovered
Plan: Operative will assassinate the target in open sight (while in provided uniform), during Target's speech. Sniping will be most optimal, as it provides the greatest amount of distance while still being in view of target, though, depends on timing and Guard's timetable. The operative is free to improvise should outside factors interfere with the operation. Mandalorian propaganda will then be projected & played over the local holonet, forcing the Security to jam communications. A riot will likely incite following the death of the Target. After target elimination, Operative will then flee, and escape via company transport.
Backup Plan: Operative improvisation (if needed)

Chance of Success: 75-80%
Notes:
  • Operative will be provided with any equipment they request prior to arrival.
  • Target is on schedule.
  • Security Size larger than initially expected, due to local tensions.
  • Security Team is mostly inexperienced.
  • Communications will be down during the operation, will impair enemy pursuit & cohesion.
  • Operative will pause on route to change out of uniform. Imperative that disguise is not left behind or found.
- Spaceport will be busy, likely in rush hour. Expected to have many resource transports come through. Will mask Operative's trail should security trace it.
- In the event that the operative is captured, rescue will be dispatched. Further details of recovery plan are to remain fully confidential.

A pale hand turns off the desk projector, as the man seated turns, looking down on the skyline below. Reaching to his side, he takes his glass of wine, and takes a delicate sip from it. His mind is focused on running calculations, accounting for every possible outcome of today's long awaited operation. Uncontrollable variables are one of the things Adrikobe despises most.

"Fortune favors the bold, Miss Praxor." He murmured to himself, sipping. Though, she wasn't here. Assuming she'd been following her timetable, she was nearing or on the moon, roughly a few hours before the speech. She had ample time to prepare.

Newly appointed governor - Korran Veynic was awake before dawn. He didn't need an alarm; years of campaigns made sleep a luxury, not a habit. The fortress was quiet except for the sound of boots and generators. He pulled on his armor piece by piece, checking every seal and buckle himself. The plates were scratched and blackened from old fights. He preferred it that way, honest wear was something the Mandalorian population of Echoy'la would easily sniff out.

A captain entered, datapad in hand.
"Security's doubled for the speech, sir. Perimeter sweeps clean. Clans are gathering in the square."

Korran nodded, eyes on the readout. "Good. Rotate guards every thirty minutes. I don't want any infiltrators to have a large window of attack if someone infiltrated our core."

The Diarchy had set into motion the iron grip of control on Echoy'la but they understood the Mandalorians would not be content at all to have a stranger, someone with no clan, be in charge of their society. So local DISF - Diarchy Internal Security Forces - had allowed militia branches of Mandalorians to be allotted within Echoy'la's defense force.

"Yes, Governor."

The captain left. Korran stayed, staring at the map projected over the table, routes, rally points, fallback corridors. Every arrow meant something that could go wrong. He made small adjustments, moving names and units until it looked right.

Outside the window, the first transport convoys cut across the sky, lights streaking toward the city. The speech would start in a few hours. He'd address the clans, issue the decrees, and make clear that Echoy'la now answered to the Diarchy.

He set his pistol on the table, checked the charge, then holstered it. The weight on his hip bringing him some small comfort.

For a moment, he stood still and looked out toward the sprawl below, mines, shipyards, the banners of the clans flapping against the morning wind.

"This place needs discipline," he muttered. "And someone willing to enforce it."

He turned, straightened his cloak, and started toward the hall. The day would be long, and he intended to meet it head-on. Firstly he would need to meet the local Clan leaders in the courtyard outside of the governors fortress and then they would all travel to the rally square. It would be secure but it was in the open and a skilled hunter would be able to begin stalking their prey.
