Private Light the way

Korriban

The hoops to go through to even attempt to teach at all was ridiculous, in the end she convinced them that she was merely parting her knowledge...after all she could not harm any Sith nor attack them at all. In any case it was something she enjoyed to do other then go out again and again into the field of battle in search of a challenge

So here she was within a temple room, her class had started about 10 minutes ago and yet not a single soul had come, she couldnt blame them at all either....she was a mandalorian and one who refused to help them at all aside from hunting down kaine....so she sat in the middle and started to meditate. Fire balls formed around her and moved slowly radiating heat as they changed colors from green to blue to hot white, to orange and yellow and then red alternating as she practiced on changing the heat quickly

Rexus Rexus

Thud...

Thud....

A thunderous footfall could be heard approaching the room after several moments. Not hurried nor deliberately slow, it continued on steadily until the source finally entered the room. The reason for the heavy thudding finally made itself known: A Pureblood clad in black and covered with crudely made armor. Though the Hood of his trappings did a decent job of hiding most of his features, it couldn't quite hide his crimson skin nor the respirator that clung to and covered his mouth. Yes, the respirator. The most visible symbol of the pain that wracked the entirety of his body. Yet, perhaps most strikingly of all, was the height at which the Sith stood. At nearly eight feet in height, he was more of a brute or creature than the average acolyte.

"....."

The Pureblood simply stood there wordless for a few moments, looking upon the only other soul in the room. His eyes moved toward the fire and he stood transfixed for a further few moments. An expression hid by the respirator made itself known for only a moment. Fear? No. It was something more akin to remembering an incident that caused one pain. He looked at the fire only a moment further before settling to a knee and inclining his head. While an acolyte had to be respectful, a warrior looking to learn also had to be grateful. A large hand rose and pulled the cloaks hood back, revealing a scarred, somewhat burnt, and hairless head. Yellow eyes narrowed and beheld the woman surrounded by flame once more before a deep, modulated voice finally spoke out.

"...I have come to learn. If you will teach. "

She felt him before he entered, she heard hin as he grew closer, yet the old twilek didnt move a inch. The fire around her continued to alternate between different colors and temps, the occasional bit of plasma forming but soon as it formed disappeared leaving a frustrated look upon her face. The twilek herself was lime green with black tattoos moving over her lekku and face, a few scars could be seen cuts and older blaster Mark's where her armor had saved her. Mandalorian armor adorned her body shining red, yellow, and black with her clan insignia on the shoulder, she hid not the fact her heritage which earned her many snide comments and looks

Soon the being spoke, the fire around her stopped and quickly disappeared letting the cold return to the room as she slowly stood, a mere 4 inches shorter then himself

so you have, and I've come to here to teach

She eyes his kneeling figure and raised her hand

rise and tell me your name
Rexus Rexus

" Rexus. "

He spoke the name with a very real indifference. It was a name the overseers had given him in a place he would never return to. Not by choice. Standing to his full height now, Rexus brings his full attention back to the being who would now hopefully teach him something. She could control fire which was something that Rexus hadn't expected to be possible. Then again, he was quickly learning that despite his prodigious might and size, he was nothing before the more experienced Sith. All force users for that matter. After several mechanical rasps, Rexus saw fit to speak again. He briefly wondered if it would be out of turn but decided that ultimately, this needed to be said. Decorum and its like were something Rexus and his fellow slaves knew little of. He knew how to show respect to a warrior but anything past that was simply beyond him at the moment.

" I do not have a Lightsaber. I haven't been given one nor have I had the chance to take one. "

He hoped that being direct about it would hopefully spare him from any wrath on the teachers part. He had heard tales of what some Sith had done to some acolytes and he wished to avoid such fates.

simple, like how we shall start

She let her force signature free, hed feel the room heat up a bit, as well it would be as if a tall dragon stood before hin staring him down as she placed her arms behind her back

now, I will warn, I am no Sith, nor am I official lord around here...I've been allowed to teach this class graciously and as you see

She motioned around to the room being filled with only her and him

I am not quite welcomed

She let that sink in a bit then spoke

to me...you need to earn your lightsaber...it is a trophy to show you've grown

She thought a bit...this one had no master...maybe she could guide him a better way or even just a new ally

now tell me what you know so I can gauge what I need to teach

" As you wish. "

Rexus turned his attention toward a training dummy off in one of the rooms corners. He focused himself and drew upon both the hate and pain flowing throughout his being. While largely ignorant of force techniques, even basic ones, telekinesis came to Rexus naturally. It wasn't developed much but he could move objects and more importantly, he could damage them. The dummy began to shake slowly then violently, its center beginning to deform and collapse inward. Several moments later, the dummies integrity fails and it collapses in upon itself violently. The remains of the training aid were then pushed unceremoniously into the wall by Rexus. Throughout the entire endeavor, Rexus was focused solely on the act and virtually nothing else.

" I can move things...and crush them if I draw on my pain enough. It is hard to control. "

While awaiting a response, Rexus could feel the heat turn up along with the increasing of the womans presence. Truthfully, it reminded him of his time in the fire. Memories of weakness began to resurface along with the scent of scorched flesh, not that it was really there. Regardless, it washed over Rexus and he suffered it silently.

Her arms crossed, observing him, he was focused to much on this one simple thing...a death sentence for a force user on the battle field. However she noted the strength already within it and knew if it was honed it would be deadly...however she felt...like he was scared? No didnt seem right, something came up right when she let her force signature out. Looking to him she noted the mass of burnt flesh and his hair missing as she asked a simple question

do you fear fire rexus?

She said simply, taking a few steps forward as she let her signature grow a little more

judging by what I see you've ran straight into fire before some way or another...yet I feel as if...you fear it

" Fear? "

Fear. No, fear wasn't quite right. Rexus mused on the question for a moment longer.

" I was. "

Rexus believed it to be the truth. When the fire took him initially, he was afraid. Afraid that the fire and the pain it wrought were the only things going to see him to oblivion. That it would rob him of his vengeance. He lived though and any fear of fire and its pain was burnt away alongside his ability to breath normally.

" It simply reminds me of when I was weak. "

The truth was harder for some to speak but not Rexus. He failed when it mattered and now he proudly wore the sign of that failure.

you wear your failure proudly, I can hear in it your voice

She said as she formed a small ball of green fire in her hands, moving it around idly as she held it up to him, showing it off then closed her hand making it disappear

for that I feel you are already higher thinking then most at your level, you've already faced the flame and been baptized in its fiery

She finally stood before him again, pulling over two training droids with ease and set them nearby

the dark side of the force is a path to strength, for those with anger that can not be cooled...but yet you must remain level headed...or that flame of anger will consume you and blind you

She pulled over a set of training sabers, ranging from short to double bladed

choose your training saber, we will do a mix of saber training and force training, a warrior on the field of battle must be able to focus on both...or they will be crushed by their enemy

Rexus listened to her words and nodded. He grabbed a single bladed saber and took his position several feet from his temporary mentor. Keeping his gaze upon her, Rexus ignited the blade. He immediately noticed how little the weapon actually weighed which was to say nothing of the virtually weightless blade. Speaking of the blade, Rexus was somewhat surprised by how something so lightweight could cut harder than the sword he'd used in the arena across countless fights.

" I am ready. "

Rexus couldn't fit both of his armored hands around the hilt so he favored a one handed stance. As he awaited the go ahead, he began to focus and gorge himself upon the pain his old injuries supplied. It wasn't going to be pretty but then again, in Rexus' mind, a good fight never was.

ready for what

She said sternly, stepping back as she eyed him down

if I was to face you at your level youd learn nothing...because I wouldn't hold back

She waved at a droid, turning it on with the force as it stood up straight and awaited a command from stardust

if I become a more frequent teacher to you, you will practice with these droids until I am certain you can last a few minutes

She came over to the standing one, tapping along it's back as she inputted the skill level and stepped back as it's own training saber ignited and it took stance

now then let me see what you can do with that weapon before I start correcting you

The droid charged at him and raised its saber swing for his side

Rexus Rexus

Droids

Rexus had dealt with them only on occasion. They weren't truly alive and ending one felt hollow. Rexus quickly changed his hold on the blade and adopted a reverse-grip type of handle on the blade. He quickly adjusted his guard and brought the reversed saber up enough to catch the attack to his side. As soon as the blow landed, Rexus took a step forward and slammed his head into the droids head. It was a savage show of strength that also had a bit of cunning behind it. Assuming the blow landed how he wanted, it would undoubtedly create an opening.

Assuming his opening appeared, Rexus stepped forward with murderous intent. He held the blade traditionally now and with both hands as best he could. As he raised the weapon, he snarled. To Rexus, he was back in the pits. Back to fighting for his life. While this was simply a droid, Rexus had long since ingrained this sense of combat into his mind. No fight, no matter how trivial, could ever be considered not serious. To that end, Rexus brought the saber down in an attempt to either bisect the droid outright or force it to parry and meet him in a test of strength.

Rexus wasn't a duelist nor was he a very tactical fighter. He was a barbarian and it showed.

She stepped back, observing his every move and action, he was unrefined, blunt, savage, direct....star had all she needed now

The droid recoiled back, stumbling backwards it barely had time to bring its saber up, the clash caused its arm to spark a bit as it attempted pushed back against its savage attacker. Meanwhile star stood away with a grin upon her face as the droids arm gave way and the droid was hit in the head by the saber, causing it to shut down and fall over as star used the force to push it out of the way as she took a few steps forward

unrefined, brutish, savage....but yet all of these attributes how me something

She stepped past him a bit and then spoke

that your a monster, life has created you to be one...

Moving back briskly to the front of him she turned to face him staring him down

you've the potential of a dragon with it wings cut...it only weapon are its body, tail, and its own fire

Standing tall she picked the droid up looking it over, then glanced around the room for a heavy object, pulling a large rock over she sat it before him and simply said

lift it and hold it for ten minutes

Rexus grunted in affirmation before he turned off the saber. His attention quickly turned toward the rock he was supposed to lift. Having set the saber off to the side now, Rexus took hold of the rock through the force. It was heavy. Heavier than he expected. So much so that it required Rexus to concentrate quite intently. Thankfully, Rexus was still worked up from the fight and as a result, he drew on his negative emotions for support. He would rely on his anger and his hate and when those ran dry or failed, he would utilize the one sensation he always had. Pain. It was a near endless font that Rexus could draw upon.

Don't let it drop.

Rexus held out a hand to help himself focus and visualize the rock being held aloft. Overtime however, Rexus began to clench his hand into a fist. It started slowly however and it was accompanied by a series of cracks appearing upon the rock. Though his focus was ebbing slightly now, the pressure he began exerting upon the rock was becoming quite powerful. Having seen this, Rexus does his best to dial it back somewhat. He needed to find a middle ground and do it quickly lest he risk breaking or dropping the rock. He needed to not only feed off of his pain, but he also had to control it. Normally he fed off of his emotions and let himself run wild. He needed to do the opposite here. He had to get himself under control.

use the force to lift objects is like lifting weights, you must practice it, lift daily...otherwise you will never improve the weight you can hold

She said as she walked slow circles around him, hands behind her back as she noted his force signature

I've torn fighters from the sky, I've fought the vong and I have made them fear my raw power

She heard the crack, not saying a thing until she noted he was attempting to control himself as she smiled and nodded

good! Yes! You must have control, a wild beast can only do so much damage, but if you give it higher thinking...you will see that its control and how much damage can be made from it...now...throw it

She walked far away and in front of him

throw it at me

A grunt of acknowledgement was all Rexus made as he maneuvered the rock into position. She wanted it thrown at her? She'd get her wish. The rock was heavy but Rexus was familiar with the weight now. It still strained him to handle it but none of it was new. The pureblood extended his left arm to help his right handle the rock. Rexus need to focus and control both the emotions and sensations he drew upon. Rexus steadily drew both arms back toward him, the rock pulling toward him rather than at his target. As this happened, a thought wormed its way into his head. It was an uncomfortable truth that he had been denying for some time now.

If you had control...then vengeance would have been yours. You wouldn't have been weak.

A modulated growl escaped from Rexus as he drew upon the things that sustained him. The emotions that made him who he was. He made the effort to control his power rather than let it run free as he usually would. He would draw on the dark side briefly rather than let it saturate and consume him. Thrusting both hands forward, Rexus launched the rock toward his temporary teacher with more force than he expected he could muster. Unfortunately, it was only after hurling the rock that Rexus notice how much he had damaged it prior.

Stardust didnt seem to care at all, in fact she had a rather relaxed and casual position, eyeing him up and then the rock seeing the many many cracks within it...that would likely split when he threw it...just what she wanted. As the rock was laucnhed at her she held her hand up rather lazily and watched as it slowed down right before her then stopped cracking into pieces as she kicked one gently

impressive, someone without the force would've been in serious condition, however a padawan couldve stopped that

She walked back to be in front of him, she now had a rather good gauge on him, he was motivated by something yet she couldnt figure it out nor would she press

tell me Rexus Rexus .....what is it you want the most...what do you seek that you believe the dark side will give you?

Rexus wasn't surprised the rock was stopped nor was he bothered by how easy it appeared. Honestly, Rexus would have only been surprised had the rock actually harmed or inconvenienced her. His golden eyes watched her as she approached and as she spoke, he pondered her words for only a moment. He had the answer to this question. He'd figured it out a long time ago.

" Power. The power to never be weak again. "

Rexus clenched his fists before making a final statement on the matter.

" I want to be the one who decides my fate. My destiny. "

Rexus spat out the last word with contempt. He would never allow himself to be at anyone or anythings mercy ever again.
