SPECIAL FEATURES:
- Able to create a 2m spherical shield about the wearer, providing protection against a wide variety of threats ranging from blasters and other energy weapons, kinetic damage, radiation, environmental dangers, EMP/ion attacks and dangers, even pressure.
- Can allow for emergency survival as an EVA tool in the event of being released into space, although does not create breathable air pocket unless first activated within breathable environment, thus trapping breathable air inside.
- Iso-5 battery enables years of use.
- Emergency beacon can be activated sending encrypted distress and homing signal to affect swift rescue or aid.

- Upon being triggered - which can be by voice command word of the user's selection or by tapping the ring in a specific cadence with the thumb - the shields will operate (together with emergency beacon) for up to 8 hours before the micro-capacitors become depleted and the device must power off and recharge itself.

- Significant or prolonged attacks will deplete power reserves and shield integrity more quickly and as such the shields can only absorb a few direct, close-range strikes from heavy projectiles such as larger missiles or a few shots from heavy gunnery such as vehicle-borne cannons like those found on tanks and heavy walkers. One or two of these will weaken the ring's protective abilities and functional duration, or cause it to shut down entirely and need at least 2 hours to recharge itself for the next use.
A powerful shield generator, offering terrific protection against energy and particle weapons, able to defeat blasters, laser cannons, even heavy (i.e. crew serve-type) weapons of this kind as well as kinetic weapons including slugthrowers, railguns, even heavy cannons and mortars. The shield also protect against radiation including EMP/Ion threats, environmental risks (e.g. hostile atmospheres, airborne toxins and contagions, etc.), and final also to pressure (including space), making it a great EVA option. If activated within a breathable environment, it will trap several hours’ worth of air inside the 2m spherical ‘bubble’, allowing the user to breath normally, but should this not occur or the supply run out, a secondary source of breathable air will be needed to affect survival.
Further, the ring offers an emergency distress beacon and an encrypted micronized hyperwave transmitter, enabling near unlimited range and secure communications most anywhere in the galaxy, as well as to alert allies for aid or rescue in the event of danger. Combined into a single stylish ring of almost indestructible material, and using a tiny Iso-5 battery making it able to function for years, the Life Ring has the means to help you to overcome virtually any emergency or threat which may arise.
Only a few notable exceptions exist, namely: Against Force-users such as Jedi or Sith, the ring offers no protection and neither will its shields protect against their trademark lightsaber weapons. Sonic weaponry and attacks with acids and other corrosive materials also pose significant risk to the user. But overall, this little ring might very possibly mean the difference between life and death in any of a hundred or more scenarios.
